Background

Hu Li Na’s parents served under Tuoba Xi and died during a soul-hunting expedition alongside Tuoba Yan’s parents and the former Pontiff. She and her elder brother, Xie Yue, were left orphaned and subsequently raised by Martial Soul Hall. 11

She attended East Academy Junior Soul Master Academy and lived with Xie Yue in Zero Dormitory. Tuoba Xi attempted to arrange a marriage between her and Tuoba Yan, viewing her Innate Soul Power and potential connection to the Pontiff as assets to the Tuoba Clan; Tuoba Yan repeatedly rejected the proposal. 11 15 16

Following the Soul Hunting Valley graduation trial, Pontiff Bibi Dong selected Hu Li Na—not the champion Tuoba Yan—as her disciple and presented her with a Yellow Springs Crystal. 38

Appearance

Hu Li Na is a tall, slender girl with refined features and a naturally bewitching presence. Her beauty and charm are emphasized both in ordinary appearance and after Martial Soul possession. 14

  • Her Soul Fox possession produces fluffy fox ears and a soft fox tail. 14
  • Her transformed appearance is described as more graceful, alluring, and fox-like than her normal form. 14
  • Fox Spirit Transformation sharpens her ears and changes her hair to fiery red. 32
  • Her eyes can emit pink light while using Charm Arts and Fox Charm. 18 32

Personality

Hu Li Na is intensely competitive, proud, and unwilling to accept defeat. After Tuoba Yan resists her Fox Charm and defeats her, she repeatedly challenges him despite his refusal, driven by humiliation and determination to win. 15 17 18

She places strong importance on her charm-based abilities and initially expects opponents to succumb to them. Tuoba Yan’s mental resistance and Golden Eyes frustrate her because they nullify the advantage on which she has relied in previous battles. 15 19

Despite her impulsiveness, Hu Li Na cares deeply for Xie Yue. She seeks revenge after his defeat, warns him when she recognizes Tuoba Yan’s tactics, and shields him after he is injured. 25 26 27 She also fights the masked attacker to protect herself and cries out for Xie Yue after he is incapacitated. 32
