Ch. 321Rollback
Key events
- Doctor Strange opens a portal beneath Kraft, Arale, and the two Kamar-Taj sorcerers, relocating the fight to a deserted wasteland to protect New York and its civilians.
- Kraft dons his Dream Armor and uses a gravity spell to pin down the sorcerers. Strange and his companions break free with their own magic, and both sides trade energy bolts.
- Kraft tests the Iron Fist’s Dragon Power, which gives him enhanced reflexes and precise control. He also summons a Demon Projection shaped like Arale, but its punch proves no stronger than his armor’s own blow.
- After deciding Arale’s demonic power is of little use, Kraft combines the Iron Fist with the Mind Stone. This creates a much stronger projection of Angela, whose punch forces Strange to teleport out of the way.
- Strange attacks from the dust using a decoy and a flank assault. Kraft’s projection catches and binds him, but the scene abruptly shifts: the dust and restraints vanish, and Strange stands unharmed.
Character developments and interactions
- Kraft treats the fight as a chance to experiment with newly acquired powers rather than immediately clarify his intentions. He is impressed by Strange’s fast portal magic and relies on his armor’s sensors to see through illusions.
- Strange acts cautiously to keep the battle away from civilians, but remains alert to the unfamiliar power Kraft uses. He adapts quickly, teleporting out of danger and using deception to counterattack.
- Arale and Angela cheer Kraft on. Their enthusiasm adds a playful, sibling-like tone to the otherwise dangerous confrontation; Angela’s projection also becomes Kraft’s most effective weapon.
Themes
- Power and compatibility: Kraft’s abilities do not translate cleanly across systems—Arale’s strength is weakened in a Demon Projection, while the Mind Stone amplifies the Iron Fist.
- Experimentation versus combat: Kraft prioritizes testing his powers, even when he could use openings to explain himself or press his advantage.
- Protection and misdirection: Strange moves the fight away from civilians, while both sorcerers and Kraft use deception and tactical adaptation.
- Uncertainty: The sudden restoration of Strange and disappearance of the restraints suggest that the fight’s apparent outcome may have been an illusion or other reversal.
