Background / History
Tang Hao was the Clear Sky Sect's most outstanding younger-generation disciple, regarded as a once-in-a-century prodigy. He was renowned for his confidence in the Clear Sky Hammer and his belief that it stood unmatched under heaven. His sister Tang Yuehua and elder brother Tang Xiao were both closely involved in his early life within the sect. 24 43
During the Soul Master Exchange Meet, Tang Hao initially dismissed Di Hong as frail-looking and inferior to himself. His attitude shifted into a competitive respect after witnessing Di Hong's abilities, though he remained eager to test him personally. 44 46 49
Tang Hao later challenged Di Hong at the Clear Sky Sect Training Ground. They agreed to fight without martial souls or soul skills, using only physical techniques inside a fifty-meter circle. Tang Hao accidentally stepped beyond the boundary during an attack, ending the match in a draw despite his frustration at the result. 91
He trained extensively in the Clear Sky Sect's Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer and secret techniques, including periods with his Soul Power sealed. After traveling to the City of Slaughter with Di Hong, he gained the Divine Slaughter's Domain and renewed his focus on Soul Power cultivation. 94 101 103
Tang Hao sheltered Ah Yin, a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast in human form, and injured a Spirit Hall Titled Douluo while protecting her. Spirit Hall used the incident to pressure the Clear Sky Sect into surrendering him, forcing Tang Hao and Ah Yin into hiding. 134
Following Ah Yin's sacrifice, Tang Hao withdrew to Sacred Soul Village. Grief, guilt, and alcoholism left him disheveled and emotionally distant; he lived as a blacksmith and neglected much of his responsibility toward their son, Tang San. 159
Tang Hao initially forbade Tang San from attending Nuoding City Junior Soul Master Academy, fearing the dangers of the soul master world. He reversed that decision after learning Tang San possessed the Clear Sky Hammer as a second martial soul. 160
He eventually brought Tang San to Moonlight Pavilion so Tang Yuehua could help the boy control the killing intent and Divine Slaughter's Domain he had developed in the City of Slaughter. Tang Hao later entrusted Tang San with reclaiming his place in the Clear Sky Sect and restoring its former glory. 199 201 203
To repay the sect, Tang Hao removed and returned the arm and leg Spirit Bones he had received from its inheritance. After Tang San fulfilled the elders' conditions and helped restore him, Tang Hao was reinstated as a Clear Sky Sect disciple and appointed an elder. 203 260
Appearance
In his youth, Tang Hao is tall, muscular, and physically imposing, often wearing a gray shirt with rolled sleeves. Following Ah Yin's death, he becomes unkempt and haggard from prolonged self-neglect. 91 159
- Bronze, heavily muscled physique. 91
- Short hair during his younger years. 24
- After entering seclusion, wears tattered clothing, has messy hair and a stubbled face. 159
- Commonly carries the smell of alcohol during his years in Sacred Soul Village. 159
Personality
Tang Hao is blunt, proud, and intensely competitive. He regularly speaks without considering the consequences and places great faith in the Clear Sky Hammer, personal strength, and direct action. 43 46
He has little patience for etiquette, music, or aristocratic refinement, dismissing them as useless beside martial strength. This repeatedly puts him at odds with Tang Yuehua. 102 103
Despite his rough manner, Tang Hao is fiercely protective of those he considers family. He defended Ah Yin against Spirit Hall, worried about Tang San entering the soul master world, and later sought guidance for his son when he recognized his own limits. 134 160 201
