This concealed strand became the root of Zheng Fa's irreconcilable conflict with Lu Mo, who had pursued the Fusang Wood across multiple reincarnations 598.

During the struggle within Nine Luminaries Heaven, Zheng Fa's ability to understand the ancient language and communicate with the six Sages made him a leading candidate for the difficult seventh meditation cushion. Other cultivators subsequently pressured him to share this advantage, fearing that he would obtain the Primordial Purple Qi first 576.

Hongjun later explained that the Modern World itself was part of Nine Luminaries Heaven and that Primordial Purple Qi was necessary to protect it. Zheng Fa accepted the qi during Hongjun's final sermon despite recognizing the burden attached to it 597 599.

The Purple Qi nearly overwhelmed Zheng Fa's Divine Soul. Fusang Wood stabilized his consciousness, while the Creation Jade Disc drew the qi away and allowed it to settle safely 599.
