Ning Rongrong is Ning Fengzhi's only daughter and the future leader of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. Chen Xin and Gu Rong dote on her as though she were their own granddaughter. Ning Fengzhi worries that their excessive protection will hinder her development and initially considers sending her to Nuoding Academy to gain experience and grow closer to Chen Feng. Gu Rong's objections cause him to postpone the idea 61 62.

Her first meeting with Chen Feng begins badly: after running into him, she treats him as a new sect member and orders him to stand in a corner as punishment. When she attempts to shift blame onto a servant, Chen Feng challenges her by falsely accusing her of stealing money. With her father and elders absent, she experiences the helplessness of being unable to prove her innocence; the servant she mistreated nevertheless agrees to testify for her 67 68.

Chen Feng then explains that status and valuable support abilities cannot substitute for courage, responsibility, or trustworthiness. During their later conversation, Rongrong accepts that she needs to change, and he advises her to begin by accepting her responsibilities as the sect's heir. Over the following years, Chen Feng's letters and Bai Chenxiang's companionship help temper her willfulness. She eventually leaves for Suotuo City with Chenxiang, intending to attend Shrek Academy alongside Chen Feng 91 92.

Rongrong initially behaves like a spoiled young noblewoman, expecting others to obey her and her elders to protect her from consequences. Her misconduct generally takes the form of pranks, teasing, and shifting blame rather than deliberate cruelty; the narration describes her as fundamentally kind despite her upbringing 68 69.

Her desire to become someone Chen Feng can trust drives sustained effort. Before entering Shrek, she believes she can endure injuries and remain with companions in adversity, though she has not yet tested herself against a truly powerful enemy. During the admissions battle, she supports Zhu Zhuqing despite their personal rivalry, demonstrating that she can separate jealousy from teamwork 92 95.

She remains openly possessive of Chen Feng and suspicious of potential romantic rivals. That jealousy does not prevent generosity: she gives Ma Hongjun an unwanted Storage Soul Tool and pays Gu Yue Ling's tuition when the latter has no money 93 101 116 117 120.
