Ch. 2861Paradise Lost

Angel released Swift Spirit to investigate the strange colored winds in the space Laplace called Paradise Lost, then went with Laplace to find Sweet Dream beneath a giant tree. As they discussed studying Sweet Dream, Angel asked why Laplace had agreed to join despite recognizing that he had no clear plan.

  • Angel released Swift Spirit from its Alchemy Puppet, and Swift Spirit sensed that the winds were strange before merging with one to study it.
  • Laplace said the colored winds were a phenomenon of a special place, an explanation attributed to Wise Sovereign, and warned that she did not know whether they were safe for bodiless elemental creatures.
  • Angel confirmed through his contract that Swift Spirit felt no danger, then told Laplace that he could not understand its abstract description of the wind.
  • Laplace pointed out Sweet Dream at the top of an enormous tree, and Angel headed there with her.
  • Angel said his ideas about studying Sweet Dream were scattered, then asked Laplace why she had agreed to come despite realizing he had no clear plan.

Ch. 2862Writing on the Tree

Angel accompanied Laplace through a reflected space from the Abyss, where she explained why she had agreed to Second Treasure and why this place mattered to her. They reached Sweet Dream at the treetop, where Laplace revealed that she had used the Pink Wind to contain and conceal it.

  • Laplace told Angel that Gleipnir agreed to Second Treasure after losing an Astral Chess match to Luigi, which she interpreted as an omen, and said she shared Gleipnir's thoughts and sensitivity.
  • Angel declined to enter Sweet Dream before making a research plan and flew with Laplace toward the treetop, noticing artificial paths, handholds, and doorways carved into the giant tree.
  • Angel found writing in a tree hollow that he and Wise Sovereign could identify only as a variant of Abyssal demon script; Laplace explained that the reflected space came from the Abyss and might help her advance.
  • Laplace told Angel that reflecting this space had granted her talents and that Gleipnir believed its real-world counterpart might contain a medium for her advancement.
  • Angel and Laplace reached the treetop and saw that the Pink Wind surrounded Sweet Dream; Laplace explained that she controlled the wind and used it to bind Sweet Dream and conceal its aura.

Ch. 2863Appreciation of Abstract Paintings

Angel examined Pink Wind and Sweet Dream, then studied the strange mural on the tree platform. By animating its shadows through day and night, he uncovered another abstract image and guessed that the mural resembled nesting dolls or an infant’s swaddling clothes.

  • Angel found that Pink Wind calmed Dangros but did not noticeably affect Ermi or Wood Spirit, and Laplace warned him not to approach Sweet Dream within five meters.
  • Angel studied the mural, found its lines incomprehensible, and considered whether it was an abstract painting.
  • Angel used changing light and shadow to transform the mural’s appearance as day and night passed across it.
  • Laplace could not interpret the new shadow-painted image, and Angel suggested it was like nesting dolls or swaddling clothes.

Ch. 2864Shell Lamp

Angel and Laplace examined the giant tree’s murals and discussed whether mirror-born creatures dreamed, prompting Laplace to launch a survey across the Mirror Realm. In a treehouse, they discovered that a small bird could light a shell-shaped lamp, opening a hidden door.

  • Laplace accepted Angel’s suggestion that the mural atop the tree might depict swaddling clothes and mark a birthplace.
  • Angel asked whether Laplace and other mirror-born creatures dreamed, then explained his interest in how the Dream Realm might intersect with the Mirror World.
  • Laplace sent Time Doppelgängers through special mirror passages to survey creatures across the Mirror Realm about dreaming.
  • Angel and Laplace entered a furnished treehouse, where Laplace explained that an empty frame had once held an image created with energy.
  • Laplace brought a goose-yellow bird into the shell-shaped lamp grate, and the glowing bird illuminated the room and opened a hidden door.

Ch. 2865The Newborn Would One Day Become King

Angel and Laplace explored the great tree’s halls and discovered that changing the Bird Lamps revealed scenes from a story in its murals, suggesting a newborn would grow up to become king. Laplace also shared Luigi’s preliminary finding that tooth fairies had slept but never dreamed, while Luigi continued investigating older fairies.

  • Angel reasoned that the hidden mechanism moved among the tree’s roots and learned from Laplace that the Bird Lamp’s light activated it.
  • Angel used illusions to study the first hall’s mural and found a throne with someone seated on it, which he and Laplace connected to the treetop mural’s swaddled newborn becoming king.
  • Angel and Laplace examined the second hall’s mural and saw a human-shaped figure carrying a spear walking toward the throne.
  • Laplace told Angel that tooth fairies born in the past thousand years had slept but none had reported dreaming.
  • Laplace said Luigi was preparing to visit Tooth Fairy Castle to ask its ancient tooth fairies and queen about dreams.

Ch. 2866Tightrope Walker

Angel and Laplace considered whether the Mirror World was separating from the Dream Realm and whether Sweet Dream was connected to that change. They deciphered two more murals, whose final image overturned their earlier interpretation of the new king’s journey.

  • Angel proposed that the Mirror World’s will might be driving it away from the Dream Realm, while Sweet Dream suggested the worlds had not fully uncoupled.
  • Laplace said Sweet Dream had been born after she stopped dreaming, and Angel wondered whether its appearance reflected the Dream Realm’s response.
  • Angel deciphered a mural depicting an armored new king approaching his throne along a road lined with cheering crowds.
  • Angel and Laplace reached the fourth mural, which showed the new king walking a tightrope after casting his armor and spear into the Bottomless Abyss.
  • Angel and Laplace realized that the discarded armor and spear meant their initial deduction had been wrong.

Ch. 2867The Ancient City and the Behemoths

Angel and Laplace deciphered the six murals and realized they depicted a king leaving his throne, shedding his armor, and returning to a cradle, though the meaning remained uncertain. Laplace revealed that Gleipnir had learned the Charles Imperial Palace’s residents had all stopped dreaming around the same time.

  • Angel realized the murals’ sequence ran from “Above the Throne” to “Cradle,” reversing his earlier interpretation of the king’s story.
  • Angel deciphered the fifth mural, which showed an unarmed figure approaching enormous behemoths near an ancient city, and revised the names and meanings of the earlier murals.
  • Angel and Laplace considered whether the king’s return to the cradle represented rebirth or reincarnation, but could not explain the ancient city or behemoths.
  • Laplace revealed Abyssal demonic text beside the murals and urged Angel to decipher it, but he said he would need help from friends in the Abyss.
  • Laplace explained that Gleipnir had investigated the Charles Imperial Palace, where Charles I, Charles II, and Charles XIII had all stopped dreaming at roughly the same time.

Ch. 2868Charles Imperial Palace

Angel used research from Charles Imperial Palace and Tooth Fairy Castle to argue that Mirror Realm creatures had gradually lost the ability to dream as the Mirror World decoupled from the Dream Realm. He proposed that Sweet Dream was the Dream Realm’s attempt to preserve a connection, and said he would prepare to become the variable that might affect the separation.

  • Gleipnir reported that the Charles line’s research showed Mirror Realm creatures had stopped dreaming over several millennia, while humans continued dreaming in reality.
  • Laplace told Angel that the old Tooth Fairies had reported a similar decline in dreaming roughly two to three thousand years earlier.
  • Angel suggested that the Mirror World had begun decoupling from the Dream Realm and that the Dream Realm created Sweet Dream to maintain a tenuous connection.
  • Angel linked Wise Sovereign’s cooperation to his search for a variable, then said he might serve as the wind that could bring a turning point.
  • Angel proposed that the Mirror World had arranged for Laplace to witness and seal Sweet Dream, but Laplace continued to regard his account as speculation.

Ch. 2869A Sudden Whim

Angel asked Laplace to lend him an object so he could use the Dream Conch to test whether it could be pulled into the Dream Realm. He revealed that he planned to create a new Dream Wilderness based on the Mirror World, and the chapter ended with him waiting for Laplace to agree.

  • Angel asked Laplace for an object from her true body connected to the Mirror World's will and capable of powerful attacks, but she said she could not lend him anything that met those conditions.
  • Angel explained that he wanted to use his Dream Conch to send Laplace's object into the Dream Realm without touching it himself.
  • Angel revealed that he hoped the experiment might open a new passage between the Dream Realm and the Mirror World.
  • Angel explained that he wanted to create a Dream Wilderness based on the Mirror World and believed Laplace could help him withstand opposition from the Mirror World and the Dream Realm.
  • Angel admitted that his plan was speculative and that he had prepared to flee if it went wrong, leaving Laplace's agreement as the only thing he still needed.

Ch. 2870Wind's Inspiration

Angel and Laplace negotiated the terms for Laplace to provide an item for Angel’s research into creating a new Dream Wilderness, and agreed to keep the mural secret. While they waited for Luigi, Angel let Swift Spirit merge with some Pink Wind to seek inspiration; Luigi then arrived.

  • Angel reconsidered whether involving Laplace in his plan was appropriate, then decided the question depended on whether the attempt succeeded.
  • Laplace agreed to provide an inert item with powerful offensive potential, on the conditions that Angel would not investigate or touch it and would not learn how to activate it.
  • Angel and Laplace agreed to keep the mural secret, though Angel said he would share his Sweet Dream research with others for help.
  • Swift Spirit asked to experience the Pink Wind, and Laplace summoned a cluster of it for Swift Spirit to merge with.
  • A prism-shaped crystal appeared in the sky with Luigi’s music, and Laplace announced that Luigi had arrived.

Ch. 2871Molted Scales

Angel received Laplace’s first molted scales, stored in a bottle as the hollow form of her original body, and used the Dream Conch to draw them into the dream realm. He began testing whether he could create a new Dream Wilderness, while Laplace watched and the result remained unclear.

  • Luigi arrived and delivered Laplace’s bottled relic after reciting a lengthy praise poem.
  • Angel saw that the bottle contained a whale-like form made of silver scales, and Laplace explained they were the first scales shed by her original body and had been blessed by the world’s will.
  • Laplace sent Luigi back to her original body after he complained about being dismissed.
  • Angel prepared to test whether he could construct a new Dream Wilderness at the research site.
  • Angel activated the Dream Conch and directed its mysterious aura toward the bottled scales, which vanished without any visible reaction.

Ch. 2872Crystal

Angel completed the formation of a new Nightmare Domain and brought Laplace into it, where they arrived on the crystal-floored Dream Crystal Plain. He warned that unknown changes or Dream Realm purgers might threaten the newborn world, and led Laplace to retrieve her Shed Scale weapon.

  • Angel used the Gatekeeper's authority to locate the Whale in a Bottle and confirmed that the Dream Wilderness authorities had resumed working.
  • Angel sent Laplace into a dream, and she crossed the Dream Bridge through a great door into the newly formed domain.
  • Laplace found Angel on the slick crystal ground of the Dream Crystal Plain and used her hair to keep her balance.
  • Angel explained that the Dream Crystal Plain lay between the Dream Realm and the Mirror World, and that unknown changes might soon threaten it.
  • Angel led Laplace toward her Shed Scale, saying they might need it to fight any purgers that appeared.

Ch. 2873The Purge

Angel and Laplace prepared to defend the newborn Dream Wilderness from the Purgers, and Laplace activated her Bottled Molt to regain a formidable transformed body. When the Purgers emerged in overwhelming numbers, Angel unexpectedly looked delighted.

  • Laplace approached the Bottled Molt, which recognized her, and activated it, transforming into a towering, winged creature covered in silver scales.
  • Laplace asked Angel to explain the Molt, her condition, and the world between the cracks once the crisis was over, and she affirmed that Gleipnir and Luigi were still her Time Doppelgängers.
  • Angel sensed the Purgers approaching through the void and told Laplace they had to intercept them to protect the newborn world.
  • A crack opened in the gray sky, and countless bizarre creatures poured through it.
  • Laplace saw that Angel looked delighted at the invading horde and froze in surprise.

Ch. 2874Infinite Supply

Angel discovered that he could endlessly replenish Laplace’s Shed Scale inside the Dream Crystal Plain, allowing her to fight the purgers without restraint. As Laplace began slaughtering the demonic creatures, Angel returned to the battlefield to bring her tools for gathering them.

  • Angel explained that he could repeatedly bring intact Shed Scale into the dream, and Laplace agreed to fight the purgers with his support.
  • Laplace killed the Nine-Foot Snake Woman and another demon with explosive Shed Scale attacks, then asked Angel for control-type magic-pattern leather scrolls and tools to gather the creatures.
  • Laplace rapidly destroyed more than a dozen demons, while Angel returned to reality and monitored her through the Dream Gate so he could replenish her Shed Scale.
  • Angel entered the Dream Crystal Plain again and saw that Laplace’s explosions had devastated the crystal terrain.
  • Angel told Laplace he had come to bring the tools she had requested.

Ch. 2875Monster Gathering

Angel used a vast array of amplified magic to gather the Demonic Beasts across Dream Crystal Plain so Laplace could kill them faster. As the plan began working, Angel worried that her bombardments might destabilize the newborn world and considered reinforcing the cage’s center.

  • Laplace proposed gathering the scattered Demonic Beasts, and Angel tested Shadow of the Cage with Thorn Forest to trap thirty creatures for her to kill.
  • After Laplace judged the trial too slow, Angel gave her Ximos Hide and set up 137 array disks across Dream Crystal Plain to amplify a central Shadow of the Cage.
  • Angel expanded the cage across three thousand miles and combined Electrified Sea with Thorn Forest to drive the Demonic Beasts toward its center.
  • As the electrified mist spread, Laplace’s bombardments killed increasingly large groups of Demonic Beasts, though her attacks caused spatial tremors.
  • Angel asked Laplace to restrain her bombardments and began considering how to reinforce the final gathering point to prevent Dream Crystal Plain from collapsing.

Ch. 2876Stabilizing

Angel tested the Proliferation Mushroom and discovered that Nightmare Realm aura restored its ability to stabilize space inside the Dream Crystal Plain. He placed it at the Final Land, where Laplace drew the demon monsters as the Thorn Forest spread around them, setting up the final battle.

  • Angel used the Dream Entry Technique to bring the Proliferation Mushroom into the Dream Crystal Plain and nourished it with Nightmare Realm aura.
  • Angel asked Laplace to test the mushroom, and she found that it prevented spatial disturbances even under bombardment from nearly a thousand Shed Scales.
  • Angel retrieved the Proliferation Mushroom and placed it at the chosen monster-gathering point, the Final Land.
  • About two hours later, the Thorn Forest spread into its final circle, and Laplace began moving toward the Final Land.
  • The demon monsters chased Laplace to the Final Land, where she continued blasting them while Angel waited for the Thorn Forest to funnel the remaining monsters there.

Ch. 2877Heaven-Supporting Net

Angel and Laplace wiped out the Demonic Beasts trapped in the Dream Crystal Plain, with the Proliferation Mushroom stabilizing the realm during Laplace’s relentless bombardment. As Laplace searched the corpses for memories and asked Angel to reveal the truth, Angel sensed new Purgers approaching and warned that they might be far more dangerous than the last invasion.

  • Angel’s Thorn Forest, Electrified Sea, and Shadow of the Cage trapped the Demonic Beasts in the Final Land while Laplace prepared to attack.
  • Laplace bombarded the gathered Demonic Beasts with Shed Scales, killing nearly all of them and building a towering mountain of corpses.
  • The Proliferation Mushroom absorbed energy from the corpses and kept space stable through Laplace’s repeated bombardments.
  • Laplace searched the corpses’ heads for memories using her scales, but found none, then reminded Angel to answer her question now that the crisis seemed over.
  • Angel sensed fresh energy fluctuations in the void and told Laplace that the Purgers had returned, warning that the newcomers might be an overwhelming threat.

Ch. 2878New Purger

Angel and Laplace confronted a bizarre new purger that could tear open space and attack with razor-sharp threads. Laplace’s massive barrage appeared to damage it, but instead produced a second spider monster while the first regenerated, leaving her facing two foes.

  • A spider-like purger forced open the spatial rift and emerged, drawing Angel and Laplace’s attention with its fish-like head, armored human torso, and many legs.
  • Angel retreated to the safe zone while Laplace attacked the purger with explosive Shed Scales.
  • The purger fired relentless, razor-sharp threads that cut through Corpse Mountain and Thorn Forest, while Laplace struggled to break them.
  • Laplace asked Angel to remove Thorn Forest and prepare to supply her with new Shed Scales, then detonated all her scales in a massive blast.
  • The blast tore off the purger’s head and legs, but they reassembled into a second spider monster as the original regenerated, trapping Laplace between them.

Ch. 2879Surviving in the Cracks

Angel and Laplace fought a spider demonic beast whose main body kept returning and producing powerful clones, until Laplace identified it as a creature from the Mirror World. She revealed that its clones were Time Doppelgängers formed from memories and said she could counter them with the Memory Forest.

  • Angel sent Shed Scale to Laplace, who blasted a newly appeared spider demonic beast until she destroyed it.
  • Laplace attacked the main spider demonic beast, but it regenerated and created more clones whenever its main body was killed.
  • Angel deduced that the spider demonic beast had intelligence, formidable physical abilities, and an apparently endless proliferation ability tied to its main body.
  • Laplace told Angel that the spider demonic beast came from the Mirror World, not the Dream Realm, and that its clones were Time Doppelgängers made from memories.
  • Laplace said she could deal with the Time Doppelgängers using the Memory Forest and asked Angel to cooperate.

Ch. 2880Memory Forest

Angel learned that Laplace’s Memory Forest was a Mirror World–granted Wizard Garden capable of storing and suppressing memory-based beings, including the Spider Monsters. After agreeing to bring it into the Dream Crystal Plain, Angel suspected the Mirror World had arranged this turn of events to claim territory and build a nest there.

  • Laplace explained that she had built the Memory Forest with about a hundred drops of Constant Shards and that it contained objects condensed from memories, including failed Time Doppelgängers.
  • Laplace identified the Spider Monsters’ clones as Memory Time Doppelgängers and said the Memory Forest could store them and suppress the main Spider Monster because its powers also came from memory.
  • Laplace asked Angel to bring the Memory Forest into the Dream Crystal Plain, and Angel agreed before leaving the dream.
  • Back in the Reflection Space, Angel considered how the Dream Realm and Mirror World had each acted in response to the Dream Crystal Plain.
  • Angel concluded that the Mirror World had sent the Spider Monster and arranged for the Memory Forest to enter the Dream Crystal Plain so it could stake out territory and build a nest.
