Background / History
Sig awakens in the body of a younger alternate-world counterpart called “Siegfried.” While escaping slavery by sea, he discovers the Divine Path and advances to Sequence 8, gaining physical and mental enhancement alongside a natural affinity for sailing. 6 7
He trains in Fish-Man Karate under Jinbe and develops his own Water Power. His mixed Fish-Man heritage later becomes public during negotiations with Gage, when he increases his size and manifests scales across his neck and cheeks. 19 74
After becoming known as a member of the Sun Pirates, Sig adopts the alias “Seven” and maintains a Pure Human appearance while traveling independently toward Water Seven. 113 His overriding personal goal is revenge against Admiral Kizaru for Fisher Tiger’s death. 125
Sig later travels extensively with the Red-Hair Pirates, including voyages to Sky Islands, Fish-Man Island, the New World, Thriller Bark, and Wano Country. He eventually operates under Kaido as an executive and advisor, while covertly assisting Shanks' side in obtaining a red Poneglyph. 160 215 251 288
Appearance
Sig can pass as a human through a disguise, but his Half-Fish-Man traits become visible when he changes form. His physique grows notably more muscular over the course of the story. 74 113 125
- Can increase his height and become more robust. 74
- Develops visible scales over his neck and cheeks. 74
- Possesses “gills” that allow him to breathe in the White Sea. 160
- Uses Kuro-mame as both a makeshift boot and a disguise. 113
Personality
Sig is calculating, observant, and willing to conceal information to preserve leverage. During his negotiation with Gage, he reads emotional shifts, reveals only his heritage, and withholds the fact that Seastone does not restrain him like an ordinary Devil Fruit user. 74
He is resilient and highly self-directed. Even with a fractured leg, he continues training, defeats pirates threatening a coastal village, and arranges transportation to continue his journey. 113
His conduct is often manipulative, particularly when using hypnosis, psychological treatment, or long-term planning to influence others. Nevertheless, he is protective of people he considers his own, intervening to shield William from Sengoku at Marineford. 396 492 598
Abilities & Skills
Divine Path
Sig's “golden finger” is the Divine Path, whose abilities manifest in forms compatible with the One Piece world's native power systems. Abilities that would otherwise be excessively powerful are weakened, while seemingly minor powers may gain unusual importance. 79
- His Mind Reader abilities manifest as special Observation Haki. 79
- His Listener abilities allow him to hear and absorb Devil Fruit powers. 79
- His White Tower-related abilities permit incomplete learning or imitation of other powers, represented as weakened Devil Fruit abilities. 79 92
- He can use Divine Path powers to propel a warship. 396
Observation Haki
Sig possesses unusually versatile Observation Haki, initially centered on reading emotions and later capable of large-scale detection.
- Reads emotional changes to assess motives, deception, and negotiation tactics. 74
- Scans Thriller Bark's full layout and identifies Moria and his crew. 251
- Senses Poneglyphs and eventually does so without needing to sleep. 222
- Can still work through magnetic interference after locating the Red Force on Apis. 195
Fish-Man Physiology and Fish-Man Karate
As a Half-Fish-Man, Sig has exceptional physical toughness, aquatic capability, and access to Fish-Man Karate.
- Trains under Jinbe in Fish-Man Karate and develops control over Water Power. 19
- Breathes in the White Sea using his gills. 160
- Summons Sea Kings to escort the Red Force to Fish-Man Island. 215
- Displays durability approaching an inhuman level despite not yet matching Kaido or Big Mom. 208
Devil Fruit Hearing and Absorption
Sig can hear Devil Fruits and, through the Divine Path, acquire abilities without conventional consumption.
- Identifies the Rubber Fruit by hearing it while it remains sealed in its box. 136
- Can suppress his instinct to absorb a Devil Fruit power. 136
- Believes he can suppress a second Devil Fruit ability, though he declines the Rubber Fruit in favor of a stronger option. 136
- Is not restrained by Seastone in the same manner as ordinary Devil Fruit users. 74 84
- His absorbed abilities cause the corresponding Devil Fruits to disappear, unlike Germa's Lineage Factor modifications. 96
Rumble-Rumble Fruit Techniques
Sig studies and develops the Rumble-Rumble Fruit as a major enhancement to his speed and mobility. 192
- Uses Electric Field Teleportation to gain a speed advantage against Vice Admiral Momonosuke. 208
- Teleports directly to Moria after using Observation Haki to locate him. 251
- Uses lightning-based mobility in conjunction with his broader combat style. 208 251
Shadow Techniques
Sig can fight “from the shadows” and studies the Shadow-Shadow Fruit's applications. 136 257
- Uses shadow powers to track and ascend an Accumulating Emperor Cloud. 160
- Reaches 40% imitation progress for the Shadow-Shadow Fruit through analysis and sparring with Moria. 257
- Uses Kuro-mame for disguise and practical survival support. 113
Hypnosis and Psychological Manipulation
Sig's Visionary Path abilities allow him to influence mental states, though stronger targets can resist.
- Contacts a semi-hypnotized target's Mind Body to read thoughts. 151
- Soothing suppresses impulsive anger and restores calmness. 171
- Frenzy provokes anger and can be continuously applied to escalate a target's rage. 171
- These abilities consume willpower and are less effective against strong-willed opponents or Conqueror's Haki users. 171
- Uses psychological treatment to break prisoners' resistance; fully taming a Conqueror's Haki user further advances his Shepherd acting. 492
Medical Knowledge
Sig possesses medical knowledge and can combine it with supernatural abilities.
- Stabilizes Whitebeard's otherwise fatal wound using medical knowledge and the Rose Bishop ability. 396
- Works alongside Violet during the rescue operation involving Whitebeard, Zephyr, and Ain. 396
