Overview
Xuanse Cangqiong is a fortified coastal base and mech legion responsible for defending its surrounding region, including the nearby Zhenhai City. Its facilities are arranged behind a line of high walls, while hangars and certain defensive installations stand outside the perimeter; the base was deliberately built at a safety distance from Zhenhai City to limit collateral damage from attacks. 5
The force is associated with the Watcher’s Alliance and fields both legacy and modern mechs. Its oldest and most renowned unit is Xingtian, serial number T-001, which has served since the founding of Xuanse Cangqiong. 6 46
Facilities and Assets
| Asset / Facility | Details |
|---|---|
| High-wall defenses | Most base facilities are protected within the walls; external hangars and defense installations remain more exposed during attacks. 5 |
| Xuanse Cangqiong Transport Ship | A costly-to-operate transport vessel used for long-range deployment and evacuation. It carries temporary mech hangars. 41 51 |
| Xingtian spare parts | The base retains one set of old replacement parts for the first-generation mech Xingtian. 5 |
| Xingtian | First-generation nuclear-powered armor, serial number T-001; the legion’s historic mech and later an autonomous combat unit. 6 46 |
| Raider | A second-generation mech stationed at Xuanse Cangqiong during the Silent Graveyard crisis. 27 |
| Crimson Hurricane | A mech deployed to eliminate Type II monsters within the base’s high walls during Leviathan’s attack. 5 |

History
Xingtian served as Xuanse Cangqiong’s defining legacy mech from the legion’s founding. Despite being an aging first-generation unit, its history and the emotional attachment of the base personnel made it more than obsolete equipment to its defenders. 6
During Leviathan’s assault, the base endured monster incursions both outside and within its high walls. Xingtian was heavily damaged while protecting the coastline, and the command staff faced the prospect of losing the old mech permanently. General Chen nevertheless ordered repairs using the base’s remaining spare parts, prioritizing Xingtian’s return to service. 3 5
Soon afterward, an unpowered black cube fell near the coast. The object later transformed into a turbine-like power core and fused with Xingtian’s remains, forcing the base to suspend repairs and investigate whether the new core was parasitic or hostile. 5 6 Despite warnings from Omega researchers, General Chen refused to treat Xingtian solely as an unidentified object, declaring that it remained a member of Xuanse Cangqiong as long as it fought on the base’s side. 13
The legion subsequently dispatched Xingtian and Bai Ying to the Silent Graveyard for upgrades. Their departure came at a difficult time: the relocation of Red Hurricane to assist Kasen City significantly lowered Xuanse Cangqiong’s defensive strength. 13 15
Following the Silent Graveyard operation, the base received support through General Chen’s connection with Yuan Zhen of Omega. Yuan Zhen provided the experimental MS-03, while Xuanse Cangqiong deployed its transport ship to recover Bai Ying and support further operations. 41
Xingtian’s autonomous nature eventually became public knowledge. The legion continued to recognize it as a combat member rather than surrendering it for research, while later allowing it to serve as its own pilot within the Obsidian Sky Legion. 46 48 64
Command and Personnel
- General Chen — Commander associated with Xuanse Cangqiong; ordered the defense of the base, Xingtian’s repairs, and the continued use of Xingtian as an allied combat unit. 5 6 13

- Lao Yu — Maintenance worker entrusted with leading Xingtian’s repair work using the base’s remaining legacy parts. 5 6
- Liu Zhenxuan — Pilot of Raider and a defender of the base during Leviathan’s assault. 5
- Meng Changqing — Pilot of Crimson Hurricane; initially dismissed Xingtian and Bai Ying, but later witnessed Xingtian’s consciousness directly. 5 64
- Yuan Zhen — Omega scientist who supported Xuanse Cangqiong, loaned the MS-03, and advocated for Xingtian’s strategic value. 41 45
Relationship with Xingtian
Xingtian’s connection to Xuanse Cangqiong shifted from that of a retired legacy weapon to an autonomous member of the legion.
- General Chen authorized Xingtian’s repair despite its age and the base’s budget constraints. 5
- After the black cube fused with Xingtian, the base faced pressure to hand its power core to Omega for research. 6 13
- General Chen maintained that Xingtian could remain in service if it continued fighting for the base. 13
- Xingtian later identified itself as belonging to the Xuanse Cangqiong Legion of the Watcher’s Alliance. 46
- The Watcher’s Alliance ultimately accepted Xingtian’s wish to be treated as an ordinary person rather than merely a war machine; it was designated its own pilot within the Obsidian Sky Legion. 48
Notable Events

- Xingtian repair decision — General Chen committed the base’s remaining old parts to restoring Xingtian. 5 6
- Silent Graveyard deployment — Xingtian and Bai Ying traveled for upgrades while the base’s available defense strength was reduced. 13 15
