Background / History

The Myriad Beast Spirit Flame formed through the long-term accumulation of the blood, souls, and residual Beast Flames of countless dead Magical Beasts. Its emergence in the Magical Beast Mountain Range was considered plausible because of the region's immense Magical Beast population. Yao Lao believed the flame had significantly contributed to the growth of the half-step Seventh Rank Magical Beast guarding its cave. 17

Xiao Yan detected the flame after his physique reached the level of a Tier Five Magical Beast, which made his Fire Spirit Body more active and able to sense a Heavenly Flame aura. He and Yao Lao entered the flame's cave but were forced to retreat when its half-step Seventh Rank guardian attacked. 17

After Yun Yun killed the Silver Moon Wolf King, Xiao Yan entered the cave alone. The flame reacted to him with unusual docility before he even touched it, responding to his Fire Spirit Body as though it were waiting for him. 22

Xiao Yan retrieved its flame seed with no resistance and absorbed it through the Burning Mantra. The flame actively restrained its own power while circulating through his meridians, then was subdued and placed in a Spirit Container. 23

During the initial contact, the flame burned away the Blood Lotus Pill's protective blood armor without injuring Xiao Yan, apparently wishing to touch his skin directly. Its energy subsequently strengthened his cultivation, physique, and cultivation technique through the combined action of the Burning Mantra, Spirit Devouring Body Forging Mantra, and Fire Spirit Body. Its absorption also enabled his first talent awakening, [Myriad Beast]. 23 24

The absorption raised Xiao Yan from Nine-Star Da Dou Shi to Three-Star Dou Ling, brought his physique to the peak Fifth Rank, and evolved the Burning Mantra to the initial Xuan Rank. The Tian Shu Alliance later obtained information about another Myriad Beast Spirit Flame in a large gathering place of Magical Beasts. Xiao Yan showed little interest in acquiring another instance for his own cultivation because he already possessed the flame and its associated talent, while its energy offered negligible improvement at his current Dou Venerate cultivation. 268

After the alliance acquired a separate instance, Xiao Yan instructed Xiao Ding to give it to Gu He, who had declined to absorb an Eighth-Rank Beast Flame while waiting for a Heavenly Flame.
