Background

Dai Hao was the only Title Douluo stationed at the White Tiger Duke Mansion when Kakuzu and Hidan attacked it. He confronted the two intruders with his Evil Eye White Tiger Martial Soul Avatar, but recognized that either enemy possessed strength above his own. 56

He and the White Tiger Duchess used their inherited Martial Soul Fusion Skill, Hell White Tiger, to force their combat ability into the Super Douluo range. Kakuzu's wind-fed sea of fire heavily damaged the fusion form, while Hidan's Bloody Triple Scythe dispersed it. Dai Hao was gravely wounded, his wife was rendered unconscious, and Hidan severed one of his arms while attempting to sacrifice him to the Evil God. 57 58

Matatabi intervened before the ritual could be completed. The Two-Tails healed Dai Hao's wounds and revealed an ancient pact: after receiving favors from ancestors of the Dai and Zhu families, it had promised to protect either family from a crisis of extinction. Dai Hao realized that Matatabi may have remained beneath the White Tiger Duke Mansion for tens of thousands of years. 58

After learning that the Tailed Beast was real, Dai Hao recognized the political importance of the Dai Family possessing a guardian comparable to a Limit Douluo. He considered whether this strength could restore the former imperial family’s claim to the throne. 66 He later approached Matatabi respectfully and received Tailed Beast Mode for self-defense and long-range contact. 68 69

Dai Hao publicly allowed Xuan Zi and Xu Jiawei to believe that his Tailed Beast Mode only reached Level 95 Super Douluo combat strength. In reality, he had withheld thirty percent of his strength and estimated that his full output could reach Level 96. 95 Shi Luo later monitored Dai Hao through their connection and regarded his persistence as an obstacle to his own plans. 177

Dai Hao is disciplined, resilient, and highly conscious of rank. Even after Matatabi disparaged his cultivation, he remained respectful because it had saved his life and possessed overwhelming strength. 58 68

He is also politically cautious. Dai Hao hid his true combat ceiling from Xu Jiawei, understanding that the Dai Family’s growing strength could make the ruling Xu Family fear a return of the former imperial line. 95 169
