Background / History

Sasori participates in the Dawn Organization’s negotiations with Holy Spirit Cult leader Zhongli Wu. When Hidan rudely interrupts, Sasori rebukes him and keeps the discussion focused on the proposed deal 97.

He later debates Deidara over the nature of art, establishing their opposing ideals: Sasori pursues enduring, “eternal” art through puppetry, while Deidara advocates momentary art through explosions 100 140 141.

During the expedition to the Undersea Desert, Sasori states that his personal goal is to exchange blows with Qingming, whose lingering power he expects to emerge from Shukaku’s seal 117. He also explains that the Scientific Soul Tool was intended to allow ordinary people without Soul Power to operate Soul Tools 118.

At the Undersea Desert, Sasori seeks Qingming in order to exchange Soul Tool techniques and question him. He reveals his Puppet Soul Tool, then attacks Qingming after learning that Qingming’s earlier soul remnants were weak and unhelpful 122 124.

During their battle, Qingming destroys Sasori’s outer puppet, Hiruko, exposing Sasori’s true body. After leaving the Shukaku battle, Sasori intervenes in Zhongli Wu’s battle against Du Busi and Xuan Zi, rescuing Zhongli Wu with iron sand and revealing his true appearance to the combatants 150 151. Battle Against Shukaku

After Qingming dissipates, Shukaku attacks Sasori. Sasori defends with the Kazekage Puppet, survives an ambush through Deidara’s intervention, and cooperates with Deidara to pressure the One-Tail 137 138 143.
