Background / History

Uchiha ancestral records describe the clan’s first patriarch as Chibo, who entered the Void Realm and traded half of his bloodline power to its first leader for the ability to traverse space. After returning to the ninja world, he used a rune to seal the Void Realm’s entrance and prevent its creatures from following him. Later stele accounts refer to this ancestor as Chiba and identify Void Realm leader Chiba Gen as his twin brother. 33 34

The clan’s forbidden grounds preserve its history, including murals of the Uchiha alliance with the Senju and the oaths of successive clan heads to protect Konoha. The final massacre mural was obscured by black chakra markings, leaving only blurred Mangekyo Sharingan patterns. 29

On the night of the Uchiha Clan Massacre, Su Ye awakens in the Uchiha compound as Itachi and Obito begin the slaughter. 1 Later, the shrine stele states that Konoha’s high command used a supposed rebellion to conceal a secret deal with Madara, forced Itachi to exterminate the clan, and that Obito exploited Itachi’s desire to protect Sasuke. 21 A separate Secret Record of Protection further attributes the massacre to a third-party force whose chakra resembled black mist from another dimension. 29 31

The clan’s surviving inheritance becomes central to the conflict with the Void Realm. Its ancestral grounds are revealed to be a vast sealing array, with the forbidden stele as its focal point. 34 The grounds later remain important enough for Void Vanguards to attack the Uchiha compound in an attempt to steal the Immortal Bone Eye. 44
