Background / History

Lost child in Proud Arrival City

Na'er was discovered alone near Red Mountain Academy with her memories and cultivation sealed following her transformation into human form. At that point, she had not yet divided into Gu Yue and Na'er and was effectively the complete Silver Dragon King in an infant state 1.

A group of thugs attempted to abduct her for sale on the black market. She resisted, while Tang Wulin intervened despite being injured; Su Chen's law-enforcement squad drove the attackers away and took her into his protection 1 2.

Initially frightened and wary in Su Chen's residence, Na'er accepted his food and care. When Su Chen collapsed while fusing with the Void Chrono Dragon Martial Soul, she remained at his side until he awakened. The martial soul's dragon aura strongly attracted her, rapidly deepening her trust; she began calling him “Brother” and agreed to live with him 2 3.

Su Chen subsequently brought Na'er to Eastsea City, where his mother, Yu Yao, welcomed her into the family. Yu Yao encouraged Na'er to call her “Mom,” a form of address Na'er soon adopted 4 6.

Awakening and separation

While living with the Su family, Na'er became attached to Su Chen and Yu Yao. She preferred staying at home for Su Chen's return, read extensively about the soul master world, and frequently visited the seaside 6 23.

As her memories returned, she became more cheerful and independent, eventually attending general courses at an academy. Su Chen discreetly protected her from unwanted attention there 28.

Her memories began returning at the seaside, eventually making her aware that she would have to leave Su Chen because of her identity and responsibilities as the Silver Dragon King. She confessed her feelings, sedated Su Chen to prevent him from stopping her, and left behind a pendant containing their photo 23 28 29.

Her departure also served to protect Su Chen: Di Tian and the other soul beasts had located her, and she feared that discovery of their relationship would place him in mortal danger 29.

Afterward, Gu Yue separated from Na'er, taking seventy percent of their shared power for herself. Gu Yue sent Na'er away for training, confiscated her communicator to prevent contact with Su Chen, and intended to integrate into human society herself 30.

Shrek Academy

Na'er's exceptional talent and appearance earned her special admission to Shrek Academy after regular enrollment had closed. Yun Ming accepted her as his only personal disciple and brought her directly into the Inner Court; Ya Li treated her as a daughter 38.

Although she pursued cultivation at Shrek, Na'er remained preoccupied with Su Chen and worried that he would become involved with other girls. She sought to grow strong enough to catch up with him, while Yun Ming and Ya Li cautioned that their future paths might not remain compatible 38.

Despite their separation, Na'er remained someone Gu Yue could confide in. Gu Yue later asked her about the experience of liking someone while struggling with her own growing feelings for Su Chen 79.

Na'er's standing in the Inner Court eventually generated rumors that she might become the next Sea God Pavilion Master, although these were unconfirmed. She also became known as the “Dragon Spear Goddess” and “Silver Spear Goddess.” Her reputation circulated beyond Shrek, while the academy's confidentiality practices kept her identity from being widely known 132 287 288.

Reunion with Su Chen

Na'er repeatedly fought in the Star Dou Battle Network in hopes of being matched against Su Chen's account, Soul Suppression. When they finally met, she immediately surrendered to avoid exposing their connection in a recorded public match and added him as a friend afterward 255 256.

Gu Yue discovered their virtual reunion and confronted Na'er. Their dispute ended in a three-year pact: Na'er could freely remain with Su Chen for three years, but would then willingly merge with Gu Yue without retaining attachments. Na'er accepted on the condition that Gu Yue care for Su Chen afterward 257.

When Yun Ming and Ya Li temporarily left Sea God Island, Su Chen infiltrated the island and reunited with Na'er in person. She later acknowledged that, as a separated existence, she would eventually have to return to Gu Yue unless another solution could be found 260 262.

Su Chen took her into Shrek City using his improved Teleportation, and they spent time shopping and eating together. Na'er preferred their real-world reunion to the virtual environment, particularly because it allowed her to feel the familiar bloodline resonance that the Star Dou Battle Network could not reproduce 260 261.

Su Chen gave her a Hundred-Thousand-Year Dragon Blood Ginseng to support her cultivation and promised to help upgrade her existing Soul Spirit. He also privately considered creating a God Realm in which Na'er and Gu Yue could retain independent existences; this remained a proposed solution rather than an accomplished separation from her eventual fusion 262.

Dragon Blood Ginseng breakthrough and Spirit Pagoda visit

After absorbing the Dragon Blood Ginseng, Na'er reached Rank 40. She concealed the gift's origin from Yun Ming and Ya Li, claiming that she had found a bargain on the street. Ya Li examined her repeatedly and confirmed that she showed no signs of Evil Soul Master influence, after which both guardians warned her against consuming unknown treasures 286.

Ya Li proposed taking her to obtain a powerful Ten-Thousand-Year Soul Spirit. Na'er instead chose to upgrade her existing Soul Spirit with Su Chen's assistance. Learning that he was the friend helping her alarmed Yun Ming and Ya Li, who warned her about his multiple girlfriends and suggested relying on Inner Court disciples during the next Riot Period. Na'er maintained that they were merely friends, trusting that Su Chen's future accomplishments would eventually win their approval 286.

Before entering the Intermediate Spirit Ascension Platform, Su Chen introduced Na'er to Leng Yaozhu as his adopted younger sister. Leng Yaozhu was immediately fond of her, enthusiastically fussing over her until Su Chen intervened at Na'er's silent request. Upon learning of Na'er's cultivation and discipleship under Yun Ming, Leng Yaozhu recognized her as the famed Dragon Spear Goddess 287.

Leng Yaozhu subsequently learned that Na'er and Su Chen were romantically involved. Su Chen assured her that Gu Yue knew of and accepted their relationship. Although Leng Yaozhu became protective of Na'er and cautioned Su Chen against mistreating her, she ultimately approved of the couple 288 289 290.

Inside the Intermediate Spirit Ascension Platform, Su Chen located Na'er despite their randomized starting positions and suppressed the threats they encountered. Na'er used her Silver Dragon Spear to finish the immobilized Soul Beasts and absorb their energy. Her Soul Spirit reached ten thousand years in one hour; after leaving, her cultivation rose to Level 42, and four black Ten-Thousand-Year Soul Rings appeared 289.

Leng Yaozhu invited them to dinner afterward and expressed strong affection for Na'er. Su Chen then returned Na'er to the academy to avoid raising her guardians' suspicions 290.

Guardian acceptance and later visits

Su Chen's resurrection of the fallen Blood God Legion soldiers substantially improved Yun Ming and Ya Li's opinion of his character. Yun Ming admitted that further character tests seemed unnecessary and that, if Na'er willingly chose him, he could offer advice but had little grounds to oppose the relationship beyond Su Chen's multiple girlfriends 315.

During a later visit to Sea God Island, while Yun Ming was away hunting Evil Soul Masters with the Coalition Army, Ya Li witnessed Na'er and Su Chen's affectionate reunion. Na'er then revealed that Su Chen was the childhood “Brother” she had always spoken about and that he had been her boyfriend for a long time. Understanding their shared history, Ya Li responded warmly, thanked Su Chen for saving the legion's soldiers, and invited him to stay for a meal 322.

Ya Li subsequently approved of their relationship and told Su Chen to treat Na'er well. During his visit to Na'er's residence, Na'er asserted that she did not want their private moments overheard while Ya Li was nearby, and Su Chen accepted her boundary. Ya Li nevertheless secretly listened through her spiritual power out of concern for Na'er and resolved to caution her later 325.

An unusually gentle influx of heaven-and-earth energy then gathered around Na'er's residence. Ya Li recognized that it did not resemble a normal cultivation breakthrough, but its cause was not established in that chapter 325.

Appearance

Na'er was first seen as a petite, dust-covered child with short silver hair and clear purple eyes likened to amethysts 1. By her reunion with Su Chen in the Star Dou Battle Network, her silver-white hair had grown long and her earlier childlike features had matured into those of a young woman 256.

Personality

Na'er begins timid and guarded after being abandoned, but responds intensely to sincere care. Her attachment to Su Chen becomes central to her decisions: she seeks his approval, misses him while separated, and reacts jealously to signs that he has spent time with other women 3 25 38.

Despite her possessiveness, she is considerate of both humans and soul beasts. She does not want a war between the two races, worries about Su Chen's future happiness, and accepts the painful terms of the three-year pact because she recognizes her eventual fate as Gu Yue's separated part 30 257 262.

As she grows, she becomes more independent and direct about her wishes. She insists on receiving Su Chen's help with her Soul Spirit despite her guardians' reservations, while concealing their romance until she is ready to explain it. Her choice reflects both confidence in Su Chen and a desire to make her own decisions 286 288 322.

Her public reputation does not make her boastful: she is embarrassed when Leng Yaozhu mentions the “Silver Spear Goddess” nickname and explains that others coined it. She remains polite and gentle with elders, though Leng Yaozhu's enthusiastic affection initially overwhelms her 287 288.

Na'er also values privacy and can state boundaries even with Su Chen. When concerned that Ya Li might overhear them, she tells him that she is uncomfortable with the timing of their private interaction 325.

Na'er originated as the human-transformed Silver Dragon King, Gu Yuena. Her original memories and cultivation were sealed when Su Chen found her, and her later division from Gu Yue left her with only a portion of their shared power 1 30.

• Su Chen — Rescuer, childhood caretaker, adopted elder brother, and romantic partner. Na'er calls him “Brother,” remains deeply attached to him through their separation, and seeks a future in which she does not have to merge away from him.
