Background / History
Tang San is born in Nuoding City after Tang Hao—whose body had been transformed into that of a woman—gives birth to him. His biological father is Tang Shan, an infamous pirate who sexually assaulted Tang Hao; Tang Xiao prevented Tang Hao from aborting the pregnancy. Tang San is therefore treated as the Tang family’s sole male successor despite Tang Hao’s hatred for the blood of Tang Shan. His birth occurs while the Tang family is under attack from the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, whose forces seek to seize Tang Yuehua and the infant Tang San. 96 97 160 161
Although an infant, Tang San retains memories of a previous life. A system appraisal identifies him as the reincarnated Sea God King, able to understand events clearly from birth. He struggles with his rebirth, his unfamiliar family circumstances, and the altered states of people he once knew. During Bibi Dong’s attempt to capture him, he develops intense hatred for the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect and resolves to destroy both it and Spirit Hall. 97 98
Bibi Dong later threatens Tang San’s life to force Tang Hao to kneel and admit defeat as part of her Rakshasa God Trial. Tang Hao initially refuses, deeply hurting Tang San, but ultimately kneels to save him. Tang San later learns that Tang Hao had originally wished for his death and confirms that she resents him as the child of Tang Shan. 99 100 160 161
At six years old, Tang San undergoes his martial soul awakening. He manifests the Clear Sky Hammer and Innate Full Soul Power, but is barred from Huimin Soul Master Academy because his family’s criminal record fails its background requirements. He subsequently enrolls at Nuoding City Junior Soul Master Academy. 118 119 121
Tang San supports himself through blacksmithing while attending Nuoding Academy, using much of his meager income to provide food and gifts for Xiao Wu. His poverty and devotion to Xiao Wu make him a target of Tang Xiaomei’s humiliation, including making him bark like a dog in exchange for money. 151 152
After entering Shrek Academy, Tang San becomes increasingly consumed by humiliation, resentment, and a desire to regain the power and status he held in his previous life. He eventually turns to Fallen Soul Master methods, sacrificing civilians and planning to use an undead army and the Blood River God-Slaying Array to take revenge upon the Heaven Dou Empire and ascend to godhood. 163 203 245 246
