Amazon Lily recruitment operation

Marine Headquarters assigned Aokiji to lead the operation to recruit Boa Hancock as a Seven Warlord of the Sea after confirming that the Kuja Pirates operated from Amazon Lily. He allowed Rear Admiral Strawberry three days to attempt the recruitment before personally intervening if necessary. 10

When the Kuja Pirates sailed out to meet the Marine force, Aokiji used Ice Age to freeze hundreds of miles of Calm Belt sea, immobilizing their ship and turning the battlefield into frozen terrain favorable to the Marines. 14

Battle with Norse

Aokiji confronted Norse after learning that the previously obscure Kuja pirate could fly and wield extraordinary power. Though he recognized the danger Norse presented, he chose to fight to protect the Marines under his command and avenge the soldiers already killed. 15

He answered Norse's Sun of Calamity with Violent Beak Chick, Ice-Made Infinite Enhancement, enlarging an ice bird into a hundred-meter construct capable of swallowing the descending attack.
