Background / History

The clan was once renowned across the ninja world through Uchiha Mirai, known as the “Calamity Uchiha,” whose reputation during the Third Shinobi World War was compared with Namikaze Minato’s. After Mirai withdrew from public life for three years, the clan declined amid relocation, resentment toward Konoha, and disagreement between Clan Head Uchiha Fugaku and elder Uchiha Setsuna. 2 3

At Naka Shrine, Mirai returned and challenged Fugaku’s leadership. He had secretly won the loyalty of the clan’s younger generation during his seclusion; Itachi, Shisui, Yan, and the other young members supported his call to reclaim Uchiha pride. Mirai subsequently reorganized the clan from the top down. Most members accepted the reforms because of dissatisfaction with Fugaku’s former leadership, while a small number of diehards were removed. Konoha’s leadership treated the clan’s resurgence as a threat.
