Background / History

Zuo Ruotong was the master who accepted Qiao Luo's chakra reincarnation body—an orphan from the Republican era—as a disciple of the Three One Sect. He devoted decades to pursuing the Dao through the sect's signature art, Reverse Birth Triple Layer, believing it could lead to ascension and immortality. 12 14

His confrontation with Wugen Sheng led him to recognize that Reverse Birth Triple Layer could not truly grant immortality. This revelation caused many disciples to leave, reducing the Three One Sect from a mystical sect to an ordinary martial sect. Qiao Luo's reincarnation body persuaded Zuo Ruotong to live longer and preserve the sect rather than die after losing his resolve. 12 13

Zuo Ruotong later traveled north with his disciple to fight bandits and Japanese forces. During an ambush by Japanese soldiers and the Bihu Mountain Ninja Group, Qiao Luo's reincarnation body was killed while Zuo Ruotong fought the enemy. 12 13

When Qiao Luo arrived from another world and returned in the reincarnation body's place, Zuo Ruotong witnessed him annihilate a Japanese company and twenty Bihu Mountain ninjas. Though initially unable to understand Qiao Luo's changed identity, he accepted him as his disciple again after Qiao Luo continued to call him “Master.” 13 14

Qiao Luo healed Zuo Ruotong's injuries, allowing him to stop constantly sustaining Reverse Birth for the first time in decades and sleep normally. Zuo Ruotong then guided Qiao Luo through the technique's cultivation and asked him to return to the Three One Sect to heal disciples crippled by failed cultivation. 15 16

Appearance

After ceasing his constant Reverse Birth state, Zuo Ruotong appears as an elderly man with white hair and a youthful face, no longer carrying the deathly aura associated with his previous condition. 14
