Jian Hanyao is An Rongru's daughter and lived in the villa district before the apocalypse. When the global crisis began, she was online and used her partial authority over the district's Main System to confirm that chaos had reached her home. She immediately sealed herself inside and prepared defenses. 46

After machinery failed on the third day, she relied on her late father's collection of antique firearms to keep hostile survivors away. She had already killed monsters near her home on the first day, both to secure the area and to protect her mother should An Rongru return. The experience horrified her; she vomited afterward and feared becoming a monster herself, despite believing the killings were necessary. 46 47

While alone, Jian Hanyao monitored the three factions competing for control of the villa district: Song Tianhu's security team, a neutral bodyguard-and-staff group, and the villa owners. Rather than join them, she intended to use the owners for information, let the factions weaken one another, and ultimately eliminate them to secure her home. 46
