Background / History

Ao Yin initially died from overwork and transmigrated into the Peerless Tang Sect. He spent five years as a menial, unable to pass the outer-sect disciple assessment while Tang San rose from the same compound to become an outer disciple. During a storm at the Scripture Pavilion, Ao Yin awakened the Sign-In System and signed in for the Tang Sect’s ultimate art, the Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record. Tang San attacked him with the Flying God Claw and a sleeve arrow, killing him and taking the book. 1

He reincarnated in Holy Soul Village, where he encountered Tang San again. Recalling both his own death and the death of the body’s previous owner at Tang San’s hands, Ao Yin resolved to intercept Tang San’s destiny and take what would have belonged to him. His system rewarded him with the Coiling Dragon Staff, then the god-tier Dark Sacred Dragon, at the village’s martial soul awakening ceremony. 2

Ao Yin concealed the Dark Sacred Dragon and presented only the Coiling Dragon Staff, which Su Yuntao misidentified as a weak mutated iron staff. His test instead revealed Innate Full Soul Power, earning him an invitation to Spirit Hall Academy. Ao Yin refused because he intended to attend Notting Academy and reach Xiao Wu before Tang San. 3 4

He challenged Tang San for Holy Soul Village’s work-study slot at Notting Academy, defeated him, and nearly continued the attack until Tang Hao intervened. At Shrek Academy, Ao Yin concealed his true ring colors when convenient, defeated Dai Mubai, passed Zhao Wuji’s entrance assessment by fighting him for a full stick of incense, and became recognized as an exceptional member of the Shrek Seven Devils. Ao Yin is intensely vengeful toward Tang San. He views Tang San’s death of his previous incarnation as a debt to be repaid and deliberately seeks to steal Tang San’s opportunities rather than simply defeat him outright.
