Leng Family and the past

Leng Yaozhu led the declining Leng Family while serving as a senior figure in the Spirit Pagoda. Her younger sister, Leng Yulai, disappeared for decades, leaving Yaozhu burdened by guilt and uncertainty over their estrangement. 3 28

The sisters’ conflict stemmed from Yulai’s misunderstanding of Yaozhu’s meeting with Yun Ming. Through Thought Manifestation, Yaozhu reveals that she had asked Yun Ming to show Yulai affection rather than abandon her; Yulai’s belief that her sister had betrayed her ultimately drove her toward the Holy Spirit Cult. 30

Taking Xiling as a disciple

While investigating the spatial anomaly in Eastsea City, Leng Yaozhu reviewed Xiling’s records and sought him out as a promising unaffiliated talent. His Void Core’s spatial fluctuations convinced her that he possessed an exceptionally high-grade, potentially god-grade Martial Soul. 2 3

She accepted Xiling as her disciple after he bluntly negotiated for financial support. She gave him ten million Federation credits immediately, promised a further ten million each month, and was amused by his honesty rather than offended by it. 3

When Xiling chose to remain at Eastsea Academy, Leng Yaozhu allowed it on the condition that he report his cultivation progress every six months. She also gave him a phoenix-shaped spirit-jade necklace containing three of her full-power attacks, which would alert her to his location if activated. 4

Reunion with Leng Yulai

Xiling brought Leng Yaozhu to his home in Eastsea City, where she discovered that he had captured Leng Yulai—the Dark Phoenix Douluo and one of the Holy Spirit Cult’s Four Heavenly Kings. The revelation that her sister had become an evil Soul Master left Yaozhu devastated. 28 29

After showing Yulai the truth through Thought Manifestation, Yaozhu asked Xiling to spare her sister’s life while crippling her Martial Soul and Soul Power. Although damage to her life origin had seemingly prevented her from ever advancing further, Leng Yaozhu accepted Xiling’s plan to seek help from Shrek Academy’s Golden Ancient Tree. 57 58

Qiangu Dongfeng subsequently resigned and nominated Leng Yaozhu as his successor. She won over seventy percent of the council vote and announced a ten-day handover of core affairs. After she assumed office, the Qiangu Family’s core members withdrew from headquarters management, and her first formal meeting as Pagoda Master addressed the restoration of the Soul Beast Clan’s place in the organization. 226 227

Soul Beast Clan restoration and federal politics

Leng Yaozhu supported restoring the Soul Beast Clan’s seats and speaking rights within the Spirit Pagoda. At the leadership meeting, she clarified that Bella was presenting the clan’s position rather than demanding an immediate vote.
