Background / History

Xie Xie comes from a wealthy family but regularly visits a roadside clay-pot beef shop because it was his late mother's favorite. His mother named him in gratitude for meeting his father, though Xie Xie resents his father for failing to return before her death despite her final wish to see him. 25

He enrolled at Eastsea Academy and was placed in Class Five alongside Xiling, Tang Wulin, and others. He initially concealed his twin martial souls and relied heavily on the advantages granted by his innate full soul power. 9 13

Personality

Xie Xie is proud, competitive, impulsive, and notably talkative. He often speaks before considering the consequences, a habit that earns him punishment from both Wu Zhangkong and Xiling. 36 37 75 137

Defeat does not discourage him for long. After Xiling effortlessly immobilizes him, Xie Xie vows to surpass him rather than abandoning his ambition. He later humbles himself enough to beg Xiling for guidance after Xu Xiaoyan's rapid growth leaves him behind. 10 153

Despite his sharp tongue, he is loyal to his friends and protective of the people he cares about. During Zero Class training, he repeatedly struggles with physical conditioning, teamwork, and combat discipline. Wu Zhangkong identifies his habit of charging ahead and leaving openings, while Xiling gives him prolonged “special attention” during their three-on-one exercise. 20 21

He defeats Tang Wulin in their Class Five elimination match by avoiding direct confrontation, cutting through Tang Wulin's Blue Silver Grass, and exhausting his opponent's Soul Power. 11

He accompanies Xiling and Yuanen to Upper Mausoleum City for her difficult homecoming. Xie Xie holds her hand and promises to remain beside her as she faces the Yuanen Family. During this period, Xiling puts him through arduous training that completes the Space-Time Dragon evolution and brings him to Soul Sage. 243 244

When Xiling later helps Yuanen undergo a rapid breakthrough connected to the Demon Plane, Xie Xie stays awake and uses his Mental Power to watch over the Northern Legion camp. He remains concerned for her safety while respecting Xiling's instruction not to intrude. 261
