Background

Benares was originally the Judgment-class Honkai Beast that accompanied the Herrscher of the Void. After Xiling awakened the Void Core, she slept in an unknown space connected to his perception and could be summoned at his command. As his guardian beast, she obeyed only him 1 2.

Before gaining human intelligence, Benares was already an overwhelmingly powerful dragon. When Leng Yulai attempted to kill Xiling, Benares dispersed her Dark Phoenix attack and fought the Rank 97 Super Douluo in a deserted wilderness. She employed both Thunder Dragon Form and Ice Dragon Form before severely injuring Leng Yulai with a combined ice-and-lightning attack 15.

Xiling created the Pseudo-Void Core to give Benares a human body and human intelligence. Once it fused with her, the enormous dragon condensed into a human girl; Xiling named her Bella. Her gaze softened immediately upon seeing him, and she accepted him as her “Queen” 62 63.

Bella's title for Xiling derives from the instincts of a vassal loyal to the Herrscher of the Void. Although Xiling initially tried to stop her from using it, he accepted the title after learning its origin 64 93.

Her protectiveness can become possessiveness. Bella openly asserted herself against Na'er and reacted violently when Gu Yue embraced Xiling, sending Gu Yue flying because she disliked the display 68 128.

Over time, she displays a gentler side around Xiling and the orphanage children. She gave gifts presented to her by admirers to the children, enjoys Xiling's affection, and learns to cook in order to please him 127 148. She particularly enjoys quiet physical closeness with Xiling, including allowing him to rest on her lap while they observe Xu Xiaoyan and Yuan En Yehui's training 150.

At Leng Yaozhu's first formal meeting as Pagoda Master, Bella spoke on behalf of the Soul Beast Clan, calling for the restoration of its seats and speaking rights within the Spirit Pagoda. Her restrained display of energy and direct invitation for objections left the senior officials unwilling to oppose her openly. Leng Yaozhu clarified that the meeting was to establish the direction for negotiations, not force an immediate vote. Demon Plane Campaign

When Demon Monarch Alba's forces entered the human world, Xiling ordered Bella to hold the battlefield, kill every demon brought through the gate, and spare Yuanen Zhentian. Bella first destroyed more than a thousand Hellhounds with an elemental arrow, then killed all nine Greater Demons with another. She intercepted Alba and knocked him down with one punch while Xiling entered the Demon Plane 263 264.

As Xiling drew the Demon Plane's population through the portal, Bella summoned an immense thundercloud and annihilated millions of demons, allowing none to escape. She then killed Alba with a final bolt of lightning 264.
