Wu Zhangkong was once a disciple of Shrek Academy before becoming a teacher at Eastsea Academy. By the time Xiling enrolls, he is assigned as the homeroom teacher of the academy’s lowest-ranked Class Five, where he immediately establishes an unforgiving standard for both discipline and combat ability 8 9.

He transforms Class Five’s routine through physical conditioning, theory lessons, sparring, and direct criticism. After the class begins proving its potential, Wu oversees Zero Class and secures weekly access to the Spirit Pagoda’s Spirit Ascension Platform for its members’ cultivation 12 39.

Following Xiling’s abrupt departure from the Skysea Alliance Grand Tournament period, Wu prioritizes the students’ mental state over tournament results. He later reunites with Xiling after the latter kills an evil Soul Master with Super Douluo-level combat strength 96 97.

Despite his cold manner, he is deeply invested in his students’ growth. He creates demanding training conditions, critiques failures directly, and emphasizes character and mentality above fleeting fame or competition rankings 12 21 97. Wu Zhangkong introduces himself as Class Five’s teacher and immediately requires every student to state their martial soul, soul power, and intended Soul Master path. He begins the class’s reform through direct-combat lessons and severe criticism of complacency 9 10.

He personally spars with Xiling while initially limiting himself to Xiling’s level and first three soul skills. Forced into equipping Heavenly Ice, Wu ultimately recognizes Xiling as an opponent beyond any ordinary Soul Elder 11 12.

Zero Class Development

As Zero Class forms, Wu enforces physical training, teamwork exercises, spiritual-power tests, and Battle Armor instruction. He grants Xiling extensive freedom as a teaching assistant while maintaining demanding standards for the other students 17 18 36.

He brings Zero Class to the Spirit Ascension Platform and Hall of Heroes, using simulated historical Soul Masters to expose the difference between the students’ current strength and true combat experience 39 49 50.
