Background / History

Transmigration and early study

Orendo awakened in the body of the thirteen-year-old heir of House Sefrosa in the Hillsbrad Foothills. He retained the original Orendo's memories while also carrying memories from a previous life, and realized that he had transmigrated into Azeroth 1 2.

His greatest advantage was the Eye of Truth, an internal device capable of analyzing observed information, preserving and sorting memories, and improving magical models. It allowed him to absorb introductory rune material in minutes and immediately reproduce the Talar Rune 2 6.

After arriving in Dalaran, Orendo entered Violet Academy and rapidly outgrew basic coursework. During Mage Abel's lesson, he demonstrated all ten foundational arcane runes after falling asleep from boredom 13. He later became a widely known prodigy through his spell research and academic papers, receiving the Kirin Tor's Ribbon of Supreme Wisdom multiple times 25.

Research, education, and Severosa

Orendo trained under Grand Astromancer Solarian, who urged him to choose a personal mage path. The Eye of Truth assessed him as suited to every major arcane school: Abjuration, Conjuration, Divination, Enhancement, Illusion, Necromancy, Transmutation, and Evocation 21 22.

He paired magical research with business and institution-building. He created the construct Nani from a Karazhan-derived blueprint, launched The Secrets of Severosa magazine after being rejected by Kirin Tor Monthly, and published his spell Severosa's Grand Fireball in its first issue 37 38 43.

As his influence expanded, Orendo developed Severosa School, recruited former apprentices who lacked mentors, and used demonstrations of high-level magic to teach and attract students 53 96 130. His completed Heaven-Piercing Tower became the center of his research, magical industry, and territorial power 163 166.

Ascension and political leadership

Orendo's seventh-circle breakthrough marked his transition into an Archmage, while his eighth-circle advancement brought him major influence within Dalaran and beyond 73 149 150. He became a member of the Council of Six, then used the World Guardian's Crown to defeat Master Andrew and won the vote to become Speaker of the Kirin Tor 182 228.

As Speaker, he expanded the Kirin Tor's reach through overseas temples, a contribution-based point system, and the Orendo Net. He also pressed for wider magical education and cooperation between Dalaran, Quel'Thalas, and other peoples 196 197 205 244.

Chosen of Azeroth

While investigating Fire Plume Ridge, Orendo made direct contact with Azeroth's world-soul. He admitted that his wish to protect her was not purely rational, and Azeroth subsequently favored him as one of her chosen 213 215.

He later resolved to unite Azeroth's powers against the Burning Legion, formed the Azeroth Alliance, and sought leadership of the Kirin Tor to prepare for the coming invasion 223 247. His bond with Azeroth deepened until he could communicate with her directly without the World Guardian's Crown 376.

War against greater threats

Orendo has repeatedly confronted divine and Titan-level powers. He defeated Hakkar's projection with Orendo Titan Avatar, took its wind divinity, challenged Odyn in the Hall of Valor, and ultimately led six Titan Keepers and eighteen Naaru into Yogg-Saron's body 284 338 340 406.

Through his Domain, he linked the Guardians and Naaru into a single coordinated force. The operation destroyed Yogg-Saron without allied casualties, though Orendo collapsed from exhaustion after confronting the Void's will within the Old God's heart 406 416.

Appearance

Orendo combines human features with High Elven traits. He has snow-pale skin, slightly pointed ears, dark-blue eyes, and a notably strong arcane aura that many elves instinctively find alluring 1 48 76.

He favors preparation, analysis, overwhelming force, and escape over unnecessary risks; when faced with stronger opponents, he often gathers information or retreats rather than gamble on a direct confrontation 84 122 139. His confidence can become provocative, particularly when confronting political authorities or challengers such as Mage Abel, Odyn, and the Vrykul 78 131 154.
