Background / History

Jeanne was educated by the Church and received at least a high-school education at a Church academy. The soul of the historical Jeanne resides in her body, granting her physical abilities and strength far beyond those of ordinary humans. She initially sought recognition through the Hero Faction after accomplishing little within the Church. 6 66 101

She first encountered Ren during a vampire incident at a Roman bar. Disguised in delinquent-style clothing, she posed as Ren’s cousin to keep a vampire away from him, then revealed herself as the historical Jeanne’s successor. 5

As a Hero Faction member, Jeanne recruited Ren and passionately advocated the group’s goal of proving humanity equal to gods, devils, and angels. Her conviction was weakened after Ren argued that heroes exist to protect others rather than seek achievement or glory, and after Katerea Leviathan mocked the faction for relying on Ophis and the Khaos Brigade. 7 65 66

Jeanne later discovered that the Hero Faction was willing to disrupt peace and attack mythological factions to develop Sacred Gears. She concluded that its ideology had become terrorism, began secretly providing Ren with intelligence, and eventually openly opposed Cao Cao during the Kyoto incident. 101 127 147

After helping Ren rescue victims of Romanian vampire blood factories, Jeanne found a practical meaning for heroism in protecting civilians. She redirected Hero Faction members from an attack on Greek mythology toward destroying the blood factories instead. 129 130

Following Cao Cao’s defeat, Jeanne became a founding member of Ren’s Brotherhood. She took responsibility for recruiting members in Europe, though this work ultimately drew the Hero Faction’s attention and led to her capture alongside Le Fay Pendragon. 149 255 256

Appearance

Jeanne is a blonde young woman with refined features and a slender, graceful figure. Her clothing changes substantially by circumstance. 5 126

  • Initially appeared in black clothing and leather pants, covered in jangling accessories, heavy makeup, and a thick gold-colored chain while posing as a delinquent. 5
  • Later wore white casual clothing. 126
  • Her eyes can flash crimson when she is angered or intense. 5
  • Carries and manifests holy swords through her Sacred Gear. 129 255

Personality

Jeanne is earnest, proud of her identity, and initially highly enthusiastic about the Hero Faction’s grand ideals. Her passionate recruitment speeches and embarrassment when challenged about the faction’s lack of resources reveal both her sincerity and naivety. 7

Her understanding of heroism changes significantly after working with Ren. Seeing humans imprisoned in vampire blood factories leaves her deeply guilty over having pursued glory while others suffered; she subsequently commits herself to protecting people rather than pursuing recognition. 66 101 129

Despite her idealism, Jeanne can be practical and decisive. She recruited available Hero Faction members to dismantle the Romanian blood factories, developed a backup plan with Yasaka when she distrusted Ren’s approach, and recognized Ren’s role in the Himejima Family incident through logical deduction. 130 143 156
