Ebisu is the son of Huìdài, the Ninja Academy’s head of the Basic Education Research Office. When Asuma Sarutobi begins training to overcome Uchiha Ling, Huìdài assigns Ebisu to continually challenge Ling during sparring classes, preventing Ling from disrupting Asuma’s training rhythm. Ebisu accepts the task despite disliking Ling and becomes Ling’s opponent for two consecutive weeks. 7

Ling and his Shadow Clone decisively defeat and humiliate Ebisu, exploiting the gap between Ebisu’s strong fundamentals and Ling’s advanced techniques.
