Background / History

Hulk first appears rampaging near Chen Xi's villa, running through the streets, lifting cars, and hurling them skyward. Military helicopter autocannons cannot breach his defenses. 1

In New York, Hulk battles Abomination amid widespread destruction. Abomination's military experience initially gives him the advantage: he grapples Hulk and throws him hundreds of meters through a line of cars. Hulk retaliates by repeatedly hurling sedans, while Abomination punches them aside. General Ross supports Abomination with helicopter gunfire because Hulk remains his primary target. 3

After Chen Xi defeats Abomination, Hulk initially watches rather than joining the fight. Chen Xi later forces a confrontation by threatening Betty Ross, provoking both Hulk and Banner. Banner's fury makes Hulk significantly stronger, but Chen Xi exploits Hulk's unrefined fighting style, attacks his throat, and leaves him in enough pain to retreat.
