Wanda was born in Sokovia in 1989. Chen Xi's intervention changes the course of her life: she does not join Hydra and never gains access to the Mind Stone, leaving her Scarlet Witch potential unawakened. She instead becomes Chen Xi's secretary and lives with him as his girlfriend. 1

Although she initially lives a relatively quiet domestic life, Chen Xi considers her physical vulnerability unacceptable for someone with latent Chaos Magic. Rather than subjecting her to a traumatic awakening, he obtains a Perfect T-Virus Serum to strengthen her body first. 22
