Background / History
During Danzō's attempted escape from the Land of Fire, Danzō gained control of Mu's abilities. Before Mu could be sealed, Danzō split him apart and sent him away using Dustless Bewildering Binding, exploiting his concealment to evade Konoha's sealing forces and Tobirama Senju's senses. Mu was dispatched to retrieve Danzō's final prepared asset. 148
After Danzō's death, Mu was captured by the revived Uchiha Madara before he could escape. Madara brought him to Hill Graveyard and used him as a footstool while reading Danzō's letter, which identified Madara as the “Second Root Shadow.” 149
Mu's connection to both Danzō and Madara later became a key link in Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki and Gamamaru's plan to frame Madara through attacks carried out by reanimated bodies during the Shinobi World Tournament. 179
