Background / History
Emperor Jun was appointed Demon Emperor before the Demon Clan formally existed. Rather than pursue the Lich War, he intended to lead the race in building the Primordial World, accumulating merit and fortune through that work. The Grand Heavenly Star Formation was conceived not merely for warfare, but to divide day and night, regulate the seasons, and transform chaotic energy into Primordial Spiritual Energy. 1
Before the formal founding, Emperor Jun and Taiyi travelled the Primordial Continent selecting suitable living beings. Admission was intended for those with merit, fortune, and sincere intent; Bai Ze and his companions joined voluntarily, and Emperor Jun entered the selected beings into the Demon Name Record. 78 79
Emperor Jun formally established the Demon Clan before the Heavenly Realm, declaring the Demon Name Record its fortune-suppressing treasure. The founding immediately elevated the faction above the Wu Tribe and Celestial Court in standing and resources. 115
Following its foundation, the clan adopted a divided administrative structure rather than concentrating all affairs in Emperor Jun’s hands. Its detailed management, logistics, laws, enforcement, education, and military organization distinguished it from both the Wu Tribe and the Celestial Court. 119
The Demon Clan initially alarmed other powers, which feared it would seize the Primordial World’s fortune. Instead, it largely refrained from intervening in the Primordial Continent, allowing conflicts there to decrease while it developed in the Primordial Starry Sky and Heavenly Realm. 118 130

Membership
Selection standards
Membership is not open merely through self-identification. Emperor Jun’s original standard emphasizes merit, fortune, and sincere intent. 78
- Candidates use gathered starlight from the 365 stars to establish a simplified Grand Heavenly Star Formation and resonate with the Demon Name Record. 144
- The resulting trial uses Mind Power and a Mind Realm tailored to the candidate’s cultivation, emotions, personality, and conduct. 144
- Candidates must sincerely wish to join and be willing to face life and death for the Demon Clan. 146
- The trial rejects candidates whose actions are hostile or detrimental to the clan, including those who exploit its power, act arrogantly, or abandon it in hardship. 144 149
- Fewer than one percent of candidates pass after the recruitment ritual spreads across the Primordial Continent. 149
Demon Name Record
The Demon Name Record is the clan’s central fortune treasure and membership registry.
- It records Demon Clan beings through a trace of their soul aura. 77 101
- It suppresses Demon Race Fortune and grows more closely connected to the clan as that fortune increases. 115 203
- It governs recruitment trials, links accepted beings to the Heavenly Realm, and can be used to identify or remove compromised members. 120 144 172
- Its purpose is primarily administrative and protective rather than offensive combat. 293
Institutions and Infrastructure
- Grand Heavenly Star Formation — A formation based on the heavens and stars. It serves world-building functions by regulating time and transforming chaotic energy, while also acting as the clan’s greatest defensive formation. 1 113
- Demon Script — A script created by Kunpeng so even low-level beings can carry and study the Dao; it establishes a connection between the Demon Clan and the wider Primordial World. 119 220
- Bloodline Inheritance Method — Kunpeng’s inheritance method, intended to engrave Demon Script, divine abilities, and related knowledge into Primordial Spirits so descendants begin cultivation with an advantage. 141 220
- Inheritance Pagoda — A thirty-three-layer inheritance treasure placed in the Heavenly Realm. It is linked to the Demon Name Record and distributes opportunities according to factors including cultivation, talent, and fortune. 150
- Thirty-Three Layered Heavenly Stairway — A vast Mind Realm-tempering structure built to strengthen members’ wills and resist Extraterrestrial Devil invasions; it can accommodate millions of users simultaneously. 169 173
- Ascension system — A migration and status system in which members enter progressively higher heavens based on Demon Clan fortune. All members must secure a place in the Heavenly Realm, though those who prefer the starry sky may remain there. 143 144
Military Strength
The Demon Clan’s principal military force is the Battle Division, led by Eastern Emperor Taiyi. Applicants compete against one another, and Taiyi selects the strongest while Bai Ze limits the division’s size to keep it sustainable. 119
The Grand Heavenly Star Formation is the clan’s decisive strategic defense. Even when most core leaders are absent, the formation can confront Primordial Golden Immortals; Emperor Jun later demonstrates its proper use by trapping eight such opponents with its 365 main banners. 123 126
The clan’s forces have defended the Primordial Starry Sky against Tianguang Daoist and seven other Primordial Golden Immortals. The Fusang Tree, Moon Laurel Tree, Hetu Luoshu Diagram, and Grand Heavenly Star Formation all contributed to the defense. 124 125
Relationships
- Emperor Jun — Founder, Demon Emperor, and ultimate authority; the clan’s strength fundamentally rests on his power. 115 221
- Eastern Emperor Taiyi — Co-founder and military commander; leads the Battle Division and acts as the clan’s foremost battlefield leader. 77 119
- Fuxi — Xi Emperor; co-administers laws, rewards, and punishments, and assists in recruitment and expansion policy. 81 119 149
- Nüwa — Wa Empress; co-administers laws and rewards/punishments and helped revise the Demon Name Record. 81 119 144
- Kunpeng Daoist — Demon Teacher; creator of Demon Script and principal overseer of education and inheritance. 101 117 141

- Xihe and Changxi — Lords of the Taiyin; manage Moon Star matters and are entrusted with cultivating beings there. 116 141
- Wu Tribe — Generally maintains a workable relationship with the Demon Clan because the latter avoids the Primordial Continent; the two lack a direct territorial conflict. 355
- Celestial Court — Rival power led by Eastern Lord Duke. Its early clashes with the Demon Clan ended in defeat, and it later competes for followers and influence. 101 149 343
- Sage sects — Demon Clan beings may freely seek Sage masters without forfeiting clan backing; the clan treats race and sect affiliation as compatible. 326
Story Role / Major Arcs
Founding of the Demon Clan
Emperor Jun selects members, recruits Bai Ze, invites Fuxi and Nüwa as Xi Emperor and Wa Empress, and develops the Demon Name Record into a treasure capable of anchoring the race’s fortune. The clan is formally founded under Heaven’s witness, with the Heavenly Realm becoming its domain. 79 81 115 117
Institutional development
The new faction establishes its Battle Division, laws, enforcement system, logistics, Demon Script, and inheritance structure. Emperor Jun delegates daily affairs to the high-ranking members while retaining control of the overall direction. 118 119 141
Defense against Tianguang Daoist
While key leaders are absent, Tianguang Daoist and seven Primordial Golden Immortals attack the clan to seize the Fusang Tree and Moon Laurel Tree. The Demon Clan withstands the assault through its formation and spiritual roots until Emperor Jun’s consciousness returns to take command. 124 126
Heavenly Realm ascension and controlled expansion
The clan relocates its population into the Heavenly Realm through a fortune-based ascension system, then reforms the Demon Name Record into a remote recruitment and Mind Realm assessment system. This allows the clan to grow without indiscriminately absorbing all applicants. 143 150
Extraterrestrial Devil crisis
After signs of possession appear among its members, the Demon Clan develops Mind Realm tempering and the Contemplation Method to resist Extraterrestrial Devils. The Thirty-Three Layered Heavenly Stairway becomes a central tool in this defense. 165 173
Heavenly Court era
Emperor Jun develops the Heavenly Court as an official system within the Heavenly Realm rather than a separate faction. The Demon Clan supplies its infrastructure, Star Gods, and administrative foundation. 194 195 200 204
Conflict with the Five Sages
Following the Ten Great Golden Crows’ rampage within a Mind Realm trial, five Sages, the Celestial Court, and the Wu Tribe unite against the Demon Clan. The conflict unfolds within the Grand Heavenly Star Formation and causes severe losses across all sides before the formation shatters and the Golden Crows flee. 370 371
Trivia
- The Demon Clan’s founding ceremony made the Primordial World’s other powers fear that Emperor Jun might unify the world, but the clan did not launch such a campaign. 118
- Emperor Jun deliberately limits expansion because he believes the Primordial World will not permit any one race to dominate indefinitely. 180 301
- The Demon Clan’s membership test can produce cultivation insights even for powerful outsiders; Grand Pure Laozi credits the trial with helping him understand his true heart. 150
- The clan’s continued restraint and internal order are specifically noted as unusual among the great forces of the Primordial World. 446
