Kill! Them! All!
Calgar stood on the bridge of the Macragge's Honour, looking at the battle that had already ended on the Spear of Terra side of the star map, and then glanced at them.
A little frustrated.
I missed it completely.
Lin En's voice came through the communicator, sounding quite relaxed. "It's alright, there are still plenty of battlefields to fight. Let's go, pack up, we're going to support other battlefields."
Calgar lowered his hand from between his eyebrows. "Alright."
He turned to the people on the bridge and ordered, "Macragge's Honour, advance and cooperate with the Solar Fleet to clear out the rest. All Ultramarines squadrons, disperse and assist in gathering surrendered ships and counting prisoners."
"Yes!"
The Macragge's Honour pushed forward a considerable distance.
The blue and white ship cut into the battlefield and fired two rounds of shots at the last few Chaos destroyers that were still putting up a fight.
The Lance swept across the ships, blasting them to pieces. The remaining surrendered vessels drifted obediently, raising white flags.
If you refuse a toast, you'll have to drink a penalty shot.
Just as powerless the Solar Fleet was against the Vengeful Spirit, these Chaos Ships are now just as powerless against the Macragge's Honour.
The Solar Fleet collected the escape pods, the Blood Angels boarded the ships to collect weapons, and the Purple Shell Group's insects patrolled the perimeter, chasing back Chaos ships that had escaped.
Calgar sent out Ultramarines to help count the prisoners; countless blue Power Armor disembarked from the Macragge's Honour and took over several surrendered Chaos cruisers.
In less than an hour, they had cleared the battlefield together.
All the red dots on the eastern defense line's star sector have been extinguished; the star map is now completely clear.
There won't be any new enemies here for the time being.
The other Chaos forces have been dispersed to other defensive lines, and there won't be any extra forces to be deployed here.
Abaddon's offensive force was originally a Chaos mess, and who knew they'd all be wiped out.
Calgar glanced at the star map and picked up the communicator. "Lord Lin En, this area is cleared. What's the situation in the other battlefields? When do we head over?"
"Let's go now," Lin En's voice came through the communicator. "We're heading to the western frontier; Magnus and Mortarion are there. You'll come with me. The Solar Fleet will stay on the east side to clean up. Before we leave, call the Lord Regent to ask for instructions on how to handle Abaddon."
"Okay," Calgar replied.
We must first report to the Lord Regent.
Abaddon was Chaos Warmaster, after all; where he was imprisoned wasn't up to them to decide.
"I'll contact the Lord Regent." Calgar disconnected from Lin En and switched the communicator to the Terra channel.
Guilliman quickly replied, "Calgar."
"Father."
Calgar gave a brief report on the situation.
Abaddon was captured, the main force of the Black Legion was defeated, Vengeful Spirit led its remnants back to the Imperium Nihilus, stabilizing the eastern outer defense line.
Guilliman listened to the entire conversation on the other end of the communication line, then pondered for a moment.
"Captured alive?"
"Yes, Chapter Master Dante and Lord Lin En captured him alive together."
There was a two-second silence on the other end of the line, then Guilliman hummed in agreement. "Not bad."
"Father, what should we do about Abaddon's imprisonment? What should we do next?"
After a moment's thought, Guilliman made a decision. "I will handle Abaddon's imprisonment. I will send the Adeptus Custodes to escort him; you will hand Abaddon over to Adeptus Custodes."
"Understood." Calgar nodded.
Then Guilliman spoke again, his tone becoming subtly gentle, like coaxing a child. "Before the handover, you can beat him up to vent your anger, just don't kill him. The Adeptus Custodes will bring a special Stasis Field, so you don't need to worry about it."
Guilliman paused for a moment, then added, "Also, tell Lord Lin En that Terra has fewer high-level defensive forces this time, so we'll need to trouble him to take care of things at the front."
Calgar said helplessly, "Father."
"What's wrong?"
We're not children anymore.
"Nonsense, in my eyes you'll always be children."
"... Okay, I'll pass it on to Lord Lin En." Calgar was both amused and exasperated.
He already looks like an old man.
However, the Primarchs still treats them as children.
Calgar placed the tactical board that had disconnected the communication onto the table and rubbed his temples.
The Ultramarines and Mortals Crew on the bridge were all working with their heads down, and no one dared to laugh.
Calgar turned to the ship's communications officer and instructed, "Inform Lord Lin En that the Lord Regent has ordered Abaddon to be handed over to the Adeptus Custodes. The Adeptus Custodes will come immediately to take over; just wait a moment for the nearest Adeptus Custodes to arrive."
The communications officer quickly jotted it down. "Yes, sir!"
Calgar stood in front of the tactical platform, rubbed his temples again, and shook his head as he recalled Guilliman's tone.
I have a feeling that since Lord Lin En came, even the Lord Regent's way of doing things has gone astray.
Everyone's attitude towards the Siege of Terra is now quite relaxed... Isn't that amazing, Lord Lin En?
*******
Terra is besieged by Chaos, while the Necrons, Aeldari, T'au, and Orks seize the opportunity to invade.
Terra is surrounded by enemies on all sides.
After Abaddon was handed over to the Adeptus Custodes, Lin En and his men received new orders from Guilliman.
The Adeptus Custodes arrived very quickly.
A Golden Light special transport ship sped from the direction of Terra and docked with the Spear of Terra.
Several Adeptus Custodes boarded the ship, took Abaddon from the Blood Angels, and escorted him to the Adeptus Custodes' transport ship.
Abaddon was still glaring at Lin En when he left.
The Adeptus Custodes took him and put a Stasis Field generator on him.
A blue light enveloped him, and he immediately froze, as if he were frozen in ice.
The Tribune leading the group, after handing over the person, nodded to Lin En: "Lord Lin En, we've taken him away. The Lord Regent has a new order for you."
Lin En nodded. "Please go ahead."
"The Lord Regent has ordered Chapter Master Dante and Calgar to Chapter Master the Blood Angels and Ultramarines to hold off Magnus. Lord Lin En will go to the western Kuiper Sector to confront Mortarion."
Lin En asked in surprise, "Are we... going separately to fight???"
He can fight Mortarion, no problem, but sending Dante and Calgar to fight Magnus... What? Are you abandoning them? Are you just going to send your ninth brother's sons and your sons to their deaths?
The Custodian Tribune nodded. "The Lord Regent said that Mortarion and Magnus are attacking from two directions. Mortarion is in the western Kuiper sector, and Magnus is located slightly north of the western defensive line, separated by most of the defensive line. With both sides pressing simultaneously, we can only divide our forces. The Lord Regent also said that you can try to finish the battle as soon as possible, and then go to support them."
Lin En suspected that Guilliman wanted to exploit him and force him to fight Mortarion to the death.
But he had no evidence.
Okay.
They still fell for the trap.
He fights Mortarion, while Dante and Calgar hold off Magnus. He can finish his fight here and then go help... It doesn't seem like a bad idea.
It's all Magnus and Mortarion's fault; they attacked from two directions, forcing them to split up as well.
... I'll kill them all in a bit.
Before parting ways, Lin En instructed Calgar and Dante to help the Ultramarines and Blood Angels survive.
"Take good care of yourself. Just hold out for a while, and I'll get there as soon as possible."
Calgar and Dante smiled and said, "Please rest assured, sir. We Astartes are not to be trifled with."
... It's alright if they're just freeloaders.
The casualty rate on the Imperium battlefield was already incredibly high.
The Blood Angels goes without saying.
Although the Ultramarines replenish their ranks quickly, so their organization is always full and it's not obvious, they actually play a Ultramarines role in the Imperium, often acting as firefighters. Their casualty rate is consistently high, Chapter among the highest in the Imperium.
Ahhh!
Lin En's face contorted with rage.
He'll kill all those damned traitors, Xenos, and demons sooner or later!
The two fleets began to operate separately.
The Blood Angels and Ultramarines moved northwards along the western defensive line.
Led by the flagships Macragge's Honour and Blood Angels, the red and blue-white warships formed two columns and began to head north.
Lin En's Night Goddess, turned its bow towards the Kuiper Belt to the west.
The Battle Barge of the Lamenters, Flesh Tearers, and Blood Knights turned accordingly, while the Purple Shell Group's Hive Ship moved in from the outside.
The two fleets separated.
Lin En stood by the forecourt of the bridge, watching Dante and Calgar's fleet glide off in another direction.
The blue and red lights traveled northwards.
... Hopefully, Little Horse won't do anything that will irreparably damage the relationship.
Otherwise, even if Yellow Pelt tried to stop him, he would still chop the Little Horse into eight pieces.
