History

The sect occupies the former site of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, which was abandoned after a devastating attack by Spirit Hall. During the Seven-God Era, Ning Fengzhi returned with the Nine-Colored Goddess’s support and rebuilt it, laying the foundation for the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. Its buildings expanded over the following ten thousand years as its disciples and affiliated families grew 6.

The sect remains the continent’s foremost support-type sect, but it has lost its former standing as the world’s second-greatest sect. Ning Yunxiu took leadership after a long decline, purged her opponents, and brought the sect under control, showing signs of revival 14 18.

Since the Seven-God Era, successive generations searched for the Aromatic Silk Beauty, the immortal herb capable of overcoming the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda’s limitations. Their attempts to substitute other natural treasures failed, and countless ancestors remained at level seventy-nine. Before Jiang Yu’s discoveries, neither an Eight Treasure nor a Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda had reappeared through these efforts 58 65.

Jiang Yu’s return with the Aromatic Silk Beauty and other treasures brought a decisive change. Ning Yunxiu and Ning Tian both evolved their martial souls into Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Pagodas, while Ning Yunxiu became a Titled Douluo. She adopted the title Nine Treasure Douluo and regarded the pagoda’s reappearance as an opportunity to unite the sect and inspire its members after a thousand years of decline 58 62 63.

Its exterior resembles white jade, while its interior is predominantly green, with two rows of seats below the Sect Master’s seat. Numerous formations and high-grade defensive Soul Tools make it the sect’s safest location; even an Ultimate Douluo would struggle to breach its activated defenses quickly 7 59.
• Nine Treasure Pavilion — The sect’s large soul master shop in Heaven Dou City. The sect directly operates the comprehensive store, which sells a wide range of goods. A Nine Treasure Pavilion also provides fully equipped underground cultivation chambers, with Ghost Blade Douluo stationed there during Jiang Yu’s preparation for Tide Transformation 4 49.
• Library Pavilion — Holds records of notable experts and rare martial-soul phenomena. The sect used these records to investigate Jiang Yu’s unusual martial souls 10.
• Wealth — The sect is described as the continent’s wealthiest faction. Its resources include medicinal pills, nourishing food, specialist caregivers, and Soul Tools 4 6 7.
• Core-disciple accommodations — Jiang Yu receives a furnished standalone palace, ten maids, a health examination, and personalized food and medicinal-pill arrangements upon joining. His uniform and disciple token are prepared overnight 6 7.
• Auction arrangement — The Heaven Dou Grand Auction House offers the sect suitable, hard-to-sell treasures at internal prices, benefiting both parties 15.
• Trading consortium — A joint enterprise with Shrek Academy, established several thousand years earlier, conducts business across the continent. Profits are divided equally, and Shrek’s share exceeds its annual tax revenue, accounting for nearly half of the academy’s financial lifeline 29.
• Ancestral Divine Artifact — Ning Rongrong and Oscar left a supreme treasure passed down from one Sect Master to the next to preserve the sect’s legacy. It contains both gods’ divine power and Origin Soul Power contributed by generations of ancestors before their deaths. Illusion Douluo states that it can temporarily elevate her to Ultimate Douluo strength 32.
• Fixed Soul Cannon Shells — The sect has accumulated hundreds of shells over thousands of years. Illusion Douluo brings them to Shrek during the dispute over the attack on the sect’s heirs 32.
• Treasury secret arts — The treasury preserves an Evil Douluo’s secret art that forces evolution by devouring the essence of powerful soul masters or soul beasts. • Ning Yunxiu — Current Sect Master. Her Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda can greatly enhance a combatant’s strength 4 18. With Jiang Yu’s assistance, she evolves it first into an Eight Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda and then into a Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda, becoming Nine Treasure Douluo. She possesses a full set of six soul bones and has mastered Seven Apertures Exquisite Heart 59 62 63.
• Ning Tian — Ning Yunxiu’s daughter and the sect’s future leader 12 26. She evolves her martial soul into a Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda through the Aromatic Silk Beauty’s essence and hundred-thousand-year torso soul bone, then obtains her fourth spirit ring and becomes a Soul Ancestor 62 63.
• Illusion Douluo — Grand Elder and the sect’s strongest member, a level-97 spiritual-type Super Douluo. Her martial soul is the Nine Absolutes Illusion Tower 11 19. She is the younger sister of Ning Yunxiu’s grandmother and is addressed as Great-Grandmother by Ning Tian. After Ning Yunxiu’s breakthrough, she promises to reach level ninety-eight within a year; this remains a stated goal rather than a confirmed advancement 11 63.
• Wu Lie — Red Dragon Douluo and a guardian of the sect. He recruits Jiang Yu and oversees his Spirit Ring hunts 4 8 11. He is Wu Feng’s grandfather and later helps purify Jiang Yu’s Spirit-Devouring Carving Knife with his highly compressed utmost-yang soul power 17 53.
• Thunder Emperor Douluo — The sect’s only Super Douluo besides Illusion Douluo at the time of the Aromatic Silk Beauty’s tribulation. His martial soul is the Thunder Spider Emperor 61.
• Ghost Blade Douluo — A guardian who assists Illusion Douluo against the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, maiming the silver-haired offender and taking a soul bone. He later escorts Wu Feng to obtain her third spirit ring and guards Jiang Yu’s secluded cultivation location 20 35 49.
• Lu Yaoyao — The sect’s foremost food-type soul master, responsible for Jiang Yu’s restorative diet 7 8. A seven-ring Soul Sage with the Carving Knife martial soul, she specializes in enhancing prepared food and is esteemed above several food-type Soul Douluos despite her lower cultivation 7.
• Jiang Yu — Recruited as a core disciple and later made Ning Tian’s companion. He becomes Ning Yunxiu’s godson 4 12 13. His martial souls eventually fuse into the Space-Time Dragon, and his retrieval of immortal herbs enables major transformations among the sect’s leaders and heirs. The leadership supports a future relationship between him and Ning Tian, and he is regarded as a prospective second-in-command 61 62 65 77.
• Wu Feng — A talented younger member who grows up and trains alongside Ning Tian and Jiang Yu 11 14. Prepared as Ning Tian’s personal bodyguard, she later evolves her Red Dragon into the Crimson Radiance Dragon and advances to Soul Ancestor 7 62 63.
• Ning Yao — Ning Yunxiu’s deceased son and the sect’s former young sect master. Jiang Yu’s resemblance to him contributes to Ning Yunxiu’s initial attachment to the boy 6.
• Xie Jue — A former guardian Douluo whose paired Moon Blade sources eventually merged after he became a Soul Sage. The sect’s records of his experience inform its treatment of Jiang Yu’s attribute imbalance 10.

At the time of Jiang Yu’s departure for Shrek, the sect has six Titled Douluo guardians, two of whom are Super Douluo. Its leaders nevertheless see a need to strengthen the younger generation 14. Of the four guardians below Super Douluo, only Wu Lie is above level ninety-two. Jiang Yu, Ning Tian, and Wu Feng are the three leading talents of their generation 14.

Ning Yunxiu’s later breakthrough adds a Titled Douluo Sect Master to this existing defensive force. Her ability to enhance multiple guardians simultaneously substantially increases the sect’s collective strength 62 63 65.

• Pagoda enhancement mechanics — Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda enhancements increase by a fixed ten percent with each cultivation advancement. Spirit Ring quality does not determine the enhancement’s strength, though better rings reduce its soul-power cost 21.

• Collateral descendants — Two support-type sisters who follow Ning Tian and the others trace their lineage to a collateral sect member who left after a martial-soul mutation. They regard their association as a form of returning to their ancestral affiliation 40.

Story Role

• Jiang Yu’s recruitment — Wu Lie brings the injured orphan to Nine Treasure Pavilion. Ning Yunxiu offers him a home, core-disciple status, and the chance to choose a guardian Douluo as his teacher if he reaches Soul Grandmaster before age ten 3 4.
• Cultivation support — The sect restores Jiang Yu’s health and investigates his paired martial souls. Its elders anticipate that he may need to keep both souls’ attributes balanced to continue cultivating 8 10. Its subsequent research seeks to fuse his martial souls before the seven-ring stage, though ordinary treasures beneficial to dragon martial souls initially have little effect on him 17.
• Heart of Space dispute — Ning Yunxiu buys the artifact for Jiang Yu for sixty million Gold Soul Coins. When the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan pursues the party and demands it, the sect’s guardians repel the challenge 17 18 20. Illusion Douluo distracts Yu Longwu while Ghost Blade maims the insulting silver-haired man and takes a soul bone; she then examines the Heart of Space before it is entrusted to Jiang Yu 20 21.
• Shrek enrollment — Ning Tian and Wu Feng leave for Shrek under sect tradition; Ning Yunxiu also arranges for the ten-year-old Jiang Yu to enroll early 14 21 24.
