Background and History

Jiang Yu survives a plane crash and awakens on Douluo Continent as an injured six-year-old beggar in Heaven Dou City. An old beggar had raised him but died two months earlier. After three other beggars steal his food and nearly beat him to death, Jiang Yu persuades a delayed system to awaken the martial souls granted by its Xie Xie template. He kills his attackers in response to the system’s mission 1 2.

Red Dragon Douluo Wu Lie discovers Jiang Yu afterward and brings him to the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. Sect Master Ning Yunxiu gives him treatment, a home, and core-disciple status. She delays his first soul hunt for three months so that food, medicine, and conditioning can repair his neglected physique 3 4 5 8.

Jiang Yu later becomes a regular training companion to Ning Tian and Wu Feng. At seven and a half, he accepts Ning Yunxiu as his godmother. At ten, he travels with the two girls to Shrek Academy, where they enroll in New Student Class Nine 11 12 13 14 24.
