Background

Huo Yuhao enters Shrek Academy with little money and unusually low cultivation for an eleven-year-old applicant. Jiang Yu attributes his slow progress to severe childhood ill health, which damaged his talent and cultivation speed. Mu En later describes him as an orphan with a clean background 23 24 25 76.

By the time he reaches Shrek, he has joined the Tang Sect and begun practicing its techniques. Bei Bei and Tang Ya use an interview admission spot to secure his opportunity to enroll 23 24.

His parentage becomes a subject of private discussion after Ning Tian notices his intense emotional reaction to the White Tiger Duke, Dai Hao. She interprets Jiang Yu’s remarks as identifying Yuhao as the duke’s third son, born to a concubine. Wu Feng disputes the idea because neither his appearance nor his Martial Souls resemble the Dai family’s; Yuhao does not personally confirm the relationship in these passages 96 97.

His conscience troubles him after the Sea God Lake incident. He quietly seeks news of Jiang Yu’s group, worries about their disappearance, and eventually apologizes. Nevertheless, fear of exposure—including the possibility of being taken for research—keeps him from explaining the full circumstances even to Bei Bei and Tang Ya 36 37 38.

Setbacks affect him deeply. His freshman-assessment defeat leaves him dispirited until Wang Dong and Xiao Xiao help him recover. His loyalty to Zhou Yi later turns that distress into resentment toward Jiang Yu’s group: he blames their conflict for her removal from teaching and resolves to restore her position 49.

Journey to Shrek

Yuhao first appears assisting Bei Bei against a thousand-year Mandala Snake while Tang Ya prepares to obtain its Spirit Ring. The trio encounters Jiang Yu, Ning Tian, and Wu Feng during Jiang Yu’s pursuit of a Demon Lizard Dragon. The two groups subsequently travel together to Shrek City 22 23.

His level-eleven cultivation and apparently ten-year first ring cause Wu Feng and Ning Tian to question his admission prospects. Jiang Yu instead recognizes the potential of his eye-based Body Martial Soul 23 24.

Sea God Lake Incident

When an out-of-control Ma Xiaotao attacks Yuhao and Wang Dong, the Sky Dream Ice Silkworm intervenes. Rather than expose Yuhao’s ice-attribute powers, he redirects her toward Jiang Yu’s nearby group and escapes through the lake using Yuhao’s body 27 36.

Yuhao regains consciousness only afterward. He and the silkworm realize that they overestimated how quickly Shrek’s teachers would intervene, leaving Jiang Yu’s group in far greater danger than anticipated 36.

Grilled-Fish Confrontation

Jiang Yu later confronts Yuhao at his successful fish stall, takes three fish, and refuses to pay. Wang Dong intervenes without knowing what happened at the lake, escalating the dispute until Bei Bei and Tang Ya arrive 36 37.

Yuhao finally bows and apologizes. Jiang Yu publicly accuses him of deliberately endangering their lives; Yuhao denies intending to kill them. Wu Feng attacks, and Bei Bei intervenes on his behalf 38.

Afterward, Du Weilun forbids Yuhao from conducting commercial activities in the Outer Court, threatening immediate expulsion for violations. Yuhao subsequently earns money through part-time cafeteria work 39 49.

Freshman Assessment and Far North Journey

Yuhao, Wang Dong, and Xiao Xiao reach the Round of 32, where they face Ning Tian’s team. Once Yuhao’s Spiritual Detection Sharing is suppressed, their coordination collapses. Wang Dong is badly injured, and Yuhao surrenders before Wu Feng can strike him 41 42.

He eventually overcomes the resulting depression with his friends’ encouragement. After reaching two rings, he leaves for the Far North under the Sky Dream Ice Silkworm’s guidance. By the advancement assessment, he can reveal his Ultimate Ice second Martial Soul 49 76.

Academy Protection and Reserve-Team Dispute

Shrek’s leadership regards Yuhao’s combination of a Body Martial Soul, Twin Martial Souls, and Ultimate Ice as strategically invaluable. Mu En seeks reconciliation with Jiang Yu, but Jiang Yu refuses to treat the academy’s compensation as settlement of Yuhao’s responsibility 76.

During reserve-team selection, Ning Tian again suppresses his spiritual abilities. His Ultimate Ice cannot reverse the battle: opponents avoid his close-range Pincer, while his torso-bone skills remain unsafe to use 88.

Despite his side’s elimination, the academy introduces supplementary challenges that favor their return to the reserve roster. The decision provokes resentment among other Outer Court core disciples and deepens the division between the two camps 94 95 97.

Death Messenger Incident and Tournament Recovery

During the cavern mission, Yuhao warns his companions about the corpse explosions, though Bei Bei and Xu Sanshi are still gravely wounded. A subsequent crisis involving Yuhao prompts Wang Dong to call urgently for Xuan Zi’s help 98.

The Ice Empress forces an emergency activation of Ice Emperor’s Wrath, overburdening Yuhao’s body. Medicine Immortal Douluo treats him, but he begins the tournament with only sixty to seventy percent of his peak strength. By the later team briefing, Spirit Eyes support and control are viable again, while his Ice Jade Emperor Scorpion remains difficult to use 103 105.
