Ch. 1Becoming a God
Key plot points and events
- Su He awakens in the ruins of a palace, where a golden sphere merges into him. Its memories reveal that the palace is the ruined Divine Kingdom of Yu Xi, the defeated Light God, and that the sphere was Yu Xi’s Divine Core and remaining divinity.
- The inheritance strengthens Su He and gives him the Light God’s powers and knowledge, but his damaged Divine Core cannot recover without Faith Power. Cut off from the outside world, he is trapped in the collapsing Divine Kingdom as his remaining divine power dwindles.
- After an immeasurable stretch of isolation, a black whirlpool appears—the same phenomenon that brought him there. Su He looks through it and recognizes the other world as Douluo Continent, whose people and Soul Beasts could provide the Faith Power he needs.
- He considers earning belief by healing the suffering, but rejects the plan: he has too little divine power to help enough people, and the Angel God and Sea God would likely see him as a rival and suppress him.
Character developments
- Su He shifts from confused newcomer to bearer of a god’s inheritance. Despite despair and loneliness, the chance of reaching a living world restores his hope and resolve.
- He becomes pragmatic, weighing not only how to gain faith but also the limits of his strength and the danger posed by established gods.
Character interactions
- Su He has no direct encounters with other characters. His main “interaction” is with Yu Xi’s lingering divinity and memories, which reshape his body, mind, and abilities.
- He anticipates conflict with the Angel God and Sea God, whose control over religious followings threatens his plans.
Significant themes
