Background / History
A truck accident transported Chen Feng from Earth to Cihang City. He arrived with a Save/Load System, but his first death at the Happiness Internet Cafe taught him that its rewinds were limited 1. He eventually discovered that owner He Ting killed through dreams and kept human skins on a hidden third floor. Across several attempts, he learned the weaknesses of a water ghost, subdued it by promising revenge, and used it and purchased blessings to kill He Ting 3 8 15.
People in white coats then captured Chen Feng and took him to the Fourth Psychiatric Hospital’s internet-addiction academy. Its punishments, transformed “Model Students,” and ability to erase captives from the outside world made escape difficult 16 17. After a failed confrontation with Professor Sheep, Chen Feng reloaded, trained to Brick-Burst Level, and helped Li Guolong’s group get beyond the academy gate 19 21 22. A later attempt to evade the hospital ended in another reset. Retaining his strength, Chen Feng returned to free She Qingqing; he rendered the Rabbit Nurse immobile using her own logbook, and their group escaped to the cafe 24 25 29 30.
An attack linked to Dean Ox left a fatal chant embedded in Chen Feng’s memory. Unable to stop it by reloading or silencing himself, he deliberately overused his Sandevistan to induce memory loss 31 32. He subsequently remained at the cafe to train while operating Liu Xiaohu’s revived body at the Horror Amusement Park 33 34.
Chen Feng later targeted Crazy Zoo, using the wolf yokai Da Lang as another incarnation to investigate it. In one run, he freed captive humans, learned an improved Wind-Riding Art, displaced the Old Wolf King, and killed several powerful yokai. His attack on the Great Yokai failed when the enemy proved too strong for One-Hit Kill; Chen Feng used what he learned after returning to an earlier save 58 60 61 64 65 67. Repeated runs also exposed Cihang City’s deliberately lethal cultivation tribulations. Chen Feng began treating even long, doomed timelines as opportunities to gather intelligence 80 81.
After advancing through Qi Refining, Chen Feng confronted the Holy Cow Cult and Bull Face. He allowed the Great Yokai’s tribulation lightning to destroy his body in order to ensure Bull Face’s death, then discovered that he had survived as a wandering primordial spirit 94 97 109. In a later run, Mr. Qipa’s implant enabled his Foundation Establishment breakthrough. Chen Feng built up ghostly allies and used the Ghost-Catching System’s wish-fulfillment rule to subdue the Hell King 119 120. He eventually learned that an alternate-timeline counterpart he calls Number Zero had possessed substantially different systems; memories of that counterpart revealed both opportunities and dangers that Chen Feng had never experienced himself 142 175.
Chen Feng fought the Flesh Monsters and the Savior while assembling allies, weapons, and system upgrades. He reached the tenth level of Foundation Establishment before Mu Hao nearly reversed Chen Feng’s attempt to steal his cultivation. Proficiency intervened, enabling Chen Feng to take Mu Hao’s Golden Core and talent instead 157 163 173 179 180. When Cihang threatened his allies in other worlds, Chen Feng began using Two-World Traversal. In Mythic Three Kingdoms, he first served Yuan Shao, then sided with Liu Bei, gained Battle Qi and friendships among the Shu Han generals, and helped bring Lü Bu and Zhuge Liang into his circle of allies 186 187 190 192 205 210 211.
His later journeys took him through City World, the Western fantasy Land of Fire, and the Paranormal Universe. In the Land of Fire, he recruited and protected Xia Mei, fought world-ending beasts, and became entangled with the Ancestor of Flame Demons’ controlled Hundred Hero Legion 219 278 325 330 333 365. Seeking powers governed by different rules, he enrolled at a paranormal school as “Wind Ghost” and devised a method of binding defeated specters 366 368. On returning to the Land of Fire, he saved his progress with his upgraded Save-Load System, disabled the pursuing Heroes’ systems, and defeated them without relying on his own system-granted combat powers 385.
Appearance
Chen Feng is an ordinary-looking, black-haired man, described as 180 centimeters tall 1.
His appearance can differ when he acts through an incarnation, including Liu Xiaohu’s human body and Da Lang’s wolf-yokai body 32 58.
Personality
Chen Feng is survival-minded and treats deaths and failed plans as information for his next attempt. He favors exploiting rules and weaknesses over fighting an enemy on equal terms: he used fire against the water ghost, found keys to hidden spaces, and turned the Rabbit Nurse’s logbook against her 7 9 22 30. He is also willing to deceive or endanger others for a reward, though he spared She Qingqing after learning she was trying to save him 13 14.
His caution coexists with sarcasm and a taste for danger. He refused She Qingqing’s initial offer of a quiet life and committed to training before confronting the hospital again 31. Later defeats made him more selective about risks, companions, and costly system features; he also became increasingly protective of friends whom a failed cross-world journey might permanently strand or kill 67 186 187 207. Though frequently manipulative, he has freed human captives, worked to protect Xia Mei, and refused to abandon Fulameng when he regarded her as a friend 60 61 314 330.
Abilities & Skills
Save/Load System
Chen Feng can create a save point and reload after death, rewinding events while retaining his memories and earned system rewards 1 5 25.
- Loads are limited and can be replenished with system points 1 3.
- Unknown forces can corrupt a save point; memories can also carry a supernatural curse through a reload 16 32.
- System-granted gains may persist, but progress in an unfinished training plan and techniques acquired solely through his own practice can be lost on loading 81 151.
- Repairs gave the system an additional save and the One-Life Speedrun trait at version 2.0. Its displayed version had reached 6.0 when Chen Feng saved after returning from the Paranormal Universe 142 385.
- Rewinds are not an absolute safeguard: some enemies and effects resist them, and the Savior’s Demon Sword can impose a death that a time rewind cannot remove 157 222.
Hero Training
The Proficiency System’s Hero Training Method gives Chen Feng permanent physical gains through daily exercise 20 21.
- His C-rank strength lets him break an iron gate lock, overpower Imposter trainees, and contend with the Pig-Headed Instructor in a test of strength 22 25.
- The daily routine requires 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, and a ten-kilometer run. The system punishes missed or improper exercise with an invisible whip 20.
- Training inside the academy coincided with a warning that his Imposter transformation had reached 50%, prompting him to seek a safer place 21.
- A later system panel confirms completion of the first three stages and an A-rank, Building-Burst Rank physique. This natural trained strength remains usable in worlds that suppress some of his cultivation or technology 76 187 212 278.
Ghost-Catching and Blessings
Chen Feng subdued a three-star water ghost after defeating it and undertaking its wish for revenge. It became a permanent subordinate when He Ting died 8 15 25.
- The ghost was initially powerful near water but could not be summoned onto dry land unless it was raining; fire was a major weakness 8 16 19. After growing to eight stars, it could summon rain on land 120.
- Previously unlocked Three Kingdoms blessings remain usable for points. Diaochan’s Discord turns male creatures against one another, Lu Xun’s Humility blocks supernatural effects while active, and Ma Chao’s Iron Cavalry guarantees a target’s attack will hit 13 15 19 32.
- Chen Feng’s commandable ghosts later included A Fei, the Black Hand, Asura King Chen Xinran, and Ghost Immortal Meng Chengcheng. Their recorded star ratings and abilities changed as they grew stronger 116 120 135 170.
- The Ghost-Catching System can bind a defeated ghost when Chen Feng fulfills its wish. He used the Hell King’s admission that he wanted to live to subdue him by sparing him 120.
Sandevistan and Avatar
Chen Feng’s Sandevistan makes his surroundings appear to move in slow motion, greatly improving his reactions 28 30.
- Repeated use causes physical strain, nosebleeds, and memory loss; in his earlier condition, he considered one use per day safe 30 32. He later upgraded the modification 173.
- The Super Avatar System lets him control the revived Liu Xiaohu. The avatar can inherit his skills and complete tasks on his behalf, while its death does not harm Chen Feng’s original body 32 33.
- He has also obtained other incarnations, including Da Lang at Crazy Zoo. An incarnation can provide a local identity and access to information, but its use can carry risks specific to the body and world involved 58 67.
- By selecting Hextech options during the Sandevistan’s slowed-time effect, Chen Feng once obtained three augments for the cost of one point; the exploit temporarily crashed the Hextech System 163.
Check-In and Hextech Systems
- The Check-In System awards points for visiting designated locations, including sites inside the Fourth Psychiatric Hospital 25 29.
- Chen Feng chose the Hextech System’s AFK Augment: keeping his original body inside the Happiness Internet Cafe for three weeks earns ten temporary points, while his avatar remains free to act elsewhere 33.
- Later selections included Buff Buddies, which restores health and Magic Power, and a daily spell shield. Chen Feng also uses augments and temporary points to support otherwise expensive tactics 163 339.
Cultivation, Battle Qi, and Magic
- The Proficiency System can interpret and improve manuals. It transformed a wolf-yokai manual into the Wind-Riding Art, whose abilities include Wind Blade, Wind Prison, Windwalking, and Dust Veil; mastering them can unlock Threefold Divine Wind. Its yokai requirements limit who can practice it 60.
- Chen Feng’s Mysterious Tortoise Longevity Art grants vitality, Divine Sense, and survival-oriented abilities. He later discovered concealed limits in techniques supplied by the First Saint Demon Venerable and had Proficiency rework them into time- and space-based arts 77 92 202.
- The Heaven-Sent Enemy Art allows him to take a linked cultivator’s gains. Proficiency’s enhanced counter overcame Mu Hao’s attempt to reverse the theft, transferring Mu Hao’s Golden Core, aptitude, fortune, abilities, and specialist knowledge to Chen Feng 119 179 180.
- Chen Feng has learned sword, movement, wind, and magical techniques, including the Setting Sun Ten Thousand Swords Art, Divine Sword Shadowless Step, and Comet Meteor Fall. Their availability and strength can depend on his equipment and the laws of the universe he occupies 138 156 157 187 325.
- He acquired Mythic Three Kingdoms Battle Qi and the basic Battle Techniques Kill and Dodge. He has also brought back portable magic cultivation and an advanced skeleton-revival spell from the Land of Fire 207 210 300.
- His Spacetime Divinity supports abilities including Time Stop, spatial movement, and reversal. Their effects can vary with a target’s strength or a universe’s laws; in the Land of Fire, refining the Beast of the End deepened his control over the time of anyone he touches 294 300 333.
Other Systems and Equipment
- Two-World Traversal lets Chen Feng train in other universes and bring back compatible gains. Death during a journey forfeits those gains and can permanently lose equipment and teammates brought along 186 187 210.
- The Farming System can develop the Happiness Internet Cafe into a cultivation base. Chen Feng first chose a rooftop Spirit Herb Garden and later added an Artifact Refining Pavilion 116 163.
- The Equipment Enhancement System upgrades equipment or adds effects, but failures can destroy the target. Chen Feng has used it both to improve his weapons and, less reliably, to try to destroy an enemy’s equipment 157 173.
- Chen Feng developed the Ghost-Binding Art in the Paranormal Universe. It lets someone who defeats a specter attempt to bind it and gain its abilities; its normal success rate is 1%, but his paranormal talent raised his own displayed chance to 100% 368.
- His equipment has included the Jade Mantis Quickblade, Silver Shark Tooth, Eternal Sword, Book of the Undead, and Mountains and Rivers State-Preceptor Diagram. The Diagram can temporarily move nearby living beings into a Small World, a defense he has also used to expose enemies invisible under another universe’s laws 163 300 314 325.

- A Fei — Commandable ghost with a master-servant connection to Chen Feng. After being summoned without his memories, A Fei still instinctively recognized him as an older brother 116 120.
