Primordial Heavenly Venerate was one of the Three Pure Ones and a recipient of Hongjun’s Hongmeng Purple Qi, establishing his future path to Heavenly Dao sainthood. Hongjun also bestowed the Pangu Banner upon him as an Innate Supreme Treasure 7.

As master of the Heavenly Origin Sect on Kunlun Mountain, he sought to expand his sect’s authority. When Houtu’s transformation into Samsara approached, he identified the Underworld’s Reincarnation Authority as a prize for his sect. He secured Nuwa’s support by promising to assist Fuxi during a future tribulation 176.

He increasingly competed with Qin Mu and the Jie Teachings. He resented Qin Mu’s gains of Underworld authority and merit, attempted to recruit the Lord of Stars against Qin Mu, and later clashed directly with Qin Mu on Kunlun Mountain 373 422.

Following Tongtian’s severance of his Saint fruit position and rise in cultivation, Primordial Heavenly Venerate became more focused on pursuing strength and transcendence. Beneath Kunlun Mountain, he discovered a black aura that enhanced his cultivation; unaware that it was origin Devilish Qi, he absorbed it and became entangled in the Primordial Heavenly Demon’s plan to possess him 492 502 503.

Primordial Heavenly Venerate is calculating, ambitious, and highly protective of the Heavenly Origin Sect’s interests. He treats major events—such as the Underworld’s formation, Human Race merit, and the Investiture List—as opportunities to strengthen his own faction 176 388 633.

He is also dismissive toward beings he considers beneath him, including those “born of scales and horns” or hatched from eggs 491. His pursuit of greater power gradually overrides his caution; though suspicious of the black aura beneath Kunlun Mountain, he continues absorbing it because he believes it may offer transcendence 502.

His conflict with Qin Mu becomes a consuming hatred. After the Primordial Heavenly Demon reveals its desire to use him as a vessel, Primordial Heavenly Venerate still accepts its assistance and seeks Demon Ancestor Luohu in pursuit of revenge 576 577.
