Background / History

Kiana begins as a student at St. Freya Academy, where Himeko repeatedly reprimands her for failing written tests, sleeping in class, and trying to evade study sessions. Kiana argues that a Valkyrie should only need to fight Honkai Beasts effectively, often imagining herself becoming Schicksal’s strongest Valkyrie instead of improving her grades 1 2 4.

She initially believes herself to be Kiana Kaslana, the biological daughter of Cecilia and Siegfried. After viewing events from the Second Honkai War, she becomes determined to learn the truth behind Cecilia’s death and to find Siegfried, whom she affectionately calls her “smelly old dad” 15 16.

Fu Hua later reveals that Kiana is actually K423: a clone created by Otto using Kiana’s genes and the Herrscher of the Void’s core. Otto sent Fu Hua to St. Freya to monitor her and potentially awaken the Herrscher within her 20. The revelation devastates Kiana, but Mei’s insistence that she is still “their Kiana” helps her recover 20 21.

Rather than surrender to Otto’s plans, Kiana resolves to face reality, find the real Kiana, and change the future she has been shown 21.

Personality

Kiana is impulsive, boastful, food-motivated, and notably poor at academic discipline. She tries to flee Himeko’s lessons, treats difficult theory as unnecessary for a Valkyrie, and regularly uses hunger or snacks as an excuse for her behavior 2 6 17. She is also fiercely competitive with Bronya and confidently declares that she will one day defeat Kevin, despite others considering the idea reckless 9 12 24.

Her strongest trait is her devotion to the people she loves. She is intensely protective of Mei, reacts jealously when others get close to her, and refuses to accept Mei leaving for World Serpent—even attempting to stop her through a fight 5 6 9 10. Kiana also pledges to protect Himeko after seeing the possibility of her teacher’s death 23 24.
