Ch. 81Ambush

Odin tracked the Phantom Troupe’s movements and prepared his group to support Kurapika while fighting the other Spiders. He ambushed the car carrying five Troupe members, and they emerged ready to fight as Feitan suspected someone had been spying on them.

  • Odin learned that Uvogin was heading alone to challenge Kurapika and sent Kurapika to draw the fight toward the outskirts.
  • Odin took Gon, Killua, Ponzu, and Leorio to a rocky area and told them to hide while he monitored the Troupe.
  • Kurapika drove past with Uvogin, and Odin assured Ponzu that Kurapika’s ability specifically countered the Phantom Troupe.
  • Odin spotted Nobunaga, Feitan, Phinks, Machi, and Shalnark approaching in a car and fired an aura bullet at it.
  • The blast wrecked the car, and the five Spiders escaped onto the wasteland as Feitan suspected a spy had attacked them.

Ch. 82Boss, we might be done for this time

Odin and his allies fought the Phantom Troupe, while Odin used the battle to train Gon and Killua and controlled the fight with precise aura bullets. Shalnark realized the Spiders had faced a monster and called their boss to warn him they might be finished.

  • Odin emerged and taunted Nobunaga, who attacked him but was struck by Odin’s afterimage and sent flying.
  • Gon and Killua blocked Nobunaga and fought him with Odin’s reinforced gloves, while Odin’s aura bullets prevented Nobunaga from killing them.
  • Feitan and Phinks attacked Odin together, but he dodged their strikes using Future Sight and left both of them injured.
  • Ponzu sent her dragonfly and bees after Machi, forcing Machi to dodge from the ground.
  • Shalnark captured Leorio with an antenna, but Odin shot it free and drove Shalnark back with an aura bullet.
  • Shalnark watched Odin control the battle and called his boss to say the Spiders might be done for this time.

Ch. 83The Spider Goes Down

Odin watched Feitan activate his Nen ability, endured its enormous fireball unharmed, and then used his speed and misdirection to knock out the Spiders. The chapter left Shalnark fleeing while Odin faced the remaining members of the group.

  • Feitan activated his powerful Nen ability, creating a huge fireball, while Odin studied its energy and remained unharmed.
  • Kurapika defeated Uvogin, sealed his Nen with chains, and drove him toward the fireball after Uvogin warned that Feitan would kill the others.
  • Odin appeared beside Feitan after the fireball dissipated and knocked him unconscious with a strike to the back of his neck.
  • Odin tricked Phinks into guarding his abdomen, then struck his unprotected neck and knocked him out, followed by Nobunaga.
  • Machi attacked Odin to help Shalnark escape, but Odin knocked her unconscious as Shalnark fled.

Ch. 84They couldn't get away

Odin and the others defeated six members of the Phantom Troupe, and Kurapika sealed their Nen instead of killing them. They brought the captured Spiders to Light Nostrade, who paid Odin ten billion and arranged to hand them over to the Ten Dons.

  • Ponzu reunited with Odin as Kurapika returned with Uvogin and Shalnark, while Gon, Killua, and Leorio also made it back.

  • Leorio and the others loaded the unconscious Spiders into Kurapika's car and drove them to the Nostrade Family base.
  • Light Nostrade confirmed the captures, called the Ten Dons, and paid Odin ten billion.
  • Odin and Ponzu returned to their room, where Ponzu reflected on her fight and Odin told her she still needed to improve beyond her ability to fly.

Ch. 85Preparing for revenge

Odin reflected on his Nen ability and observed the remaining Spiders as they considered their next move. Chrollo planned a two-part operation for the following night and hired Illumi to target the Ten Dons and Odin.

  • Odin counted his funds, explained why Gon and Killua were behind in Nen training, and described how his ki ability drew on every Nen category.
  • Odin used Nen · Observation Haki to survey the city, seeing Kurapika guard the Nostrade base, Gon and Killua talk, and the Spiders regroup at the abandoned development.
  • After bathing and resting, Odin woke an hour later to train and study the items he had bought.
  • Chrollo learned that the Ten Dons' men had taken custody of Machi and four other Spiders, and planned to rescue them and seize the treasures the next night.
  • Chrollo assigned Franklin, Shizuku, Kortopi, and Hisoka to disrupt the Underground Auction, while he, Pakunoda, and Bonolenov would lead the rescue.
  • Chrollo called Illumi to hire him to target the Ten Dons and Odin, and Illumi said he would consult his family.

Ch. 86Nen Tools, Nen Script

Odin learned that the Zoldyck Family had refused a job to kill him, then spent the day studying a bronze mirror and discovered it was likely a Nen Tool inscribed with Nen Script. That evening, he and Ponzu accompanied the Nostrade family to the Underground Auction, while Kurapika and the others stopped at a cordoned-off intersection.

  • Illumi told Chrollo that the Zoldyck Family would take the Ten Dons job but refused to target Odin because of the danger and the price required.
  • Odin overheard the conversation with Nen · Observation Haki and realized the Zoldyck Family might know about his strength through the Hunter Network.
  • Odin told Ponzu that the bronze mirror's energy was gone but that its patterns were Nen Script, suggesting it was a Nen Tool.
  • Gon, Killua, and Leorio visited Odin, then left to earn money toward their two-billion debt.
  • Odin and Ponzu joined Light Nostrade, Neon, Kurapika, and Melody for the trip to the Underground Auction.
  • The convoy reached a cordoned-off intersection, where Kurapika and the others stopped while Nostrade's car continued toward Auction Street.

Ch. 87Bloodbath at the Auction

The Spider launched coordinated attacks across the city while the Underground Auction continued, and Odin warned Kurapika as the Mafia panicked. Chrollo’s rescue team freed Uvogin and the other captives, but Kurapika’s chain struck toward Pakunoda as they reached the exit.

  • Hisoka, Franklin, Shizuku, and Kortopi attacked Mafia checkpoints around the auction building, killing underlings and drawing the guards into chaos.
  • Odin recognized the attacks as a diversion to rescue the Spider and called Kurapika, who rushed out with Melody.
  • Odin kept Light Nostrade, Neon, and Ponzu inside the auction hall as frightened attendees relied on Neon's prophetic poems for reassurance.
  • Chrollo concealed himself while Pakunoda and Bonolenov defeated the guards and freed Uvogin and the other five captives.
  • As Pakunoda and Bonolenov led the furious captives outside, a chain shot toward Pakunoda's back, aimed at her heart.

Ch. 88Long-range strikes-ever heard of them?

Kurapika and Melody fought Pakunoda and Bonolenov until Chrollo tried to kill Melody, but Odin stopped him with a long-range aura bullet. Chrollo and the Spiders retreated, and the auction venue was safe for the night.

  • Pakunoda and Bonolenov attacked Kurapika, but Melody's flute disrupted Bonolenov and helped Kurapika withstand Pakunoda's gunfire.
  • Odin fired an aura bullet from over ten kilometers away, interrupting a sneak attack and drawing everyone's attention.
  • Chrollo ambushed Melody, but Odin's aura bullet struck his dagger and blasted him away before he could hurt her.
  • Chrollo used an ability to make the Spiders vanish and retreat into the woods, while Kurapika chose to return with Melody rather than pursue them.
  • After learning about Odin from Pakunoda's memories, Chrollo abandoned the plan to steal the auction items, and Light Nostrade thanked Odin for protecting the venue.

Ch. 89The Spiders Seeking to Flee

Odin let the Phantom Troupe escape rather than risk more chaos, while Kurapika struggled with his grief. After Odin told him the Spiders were preparing to leave Yorknew City, Kurapika stood to pursue them.

  • Kurapika told Chrollo he could no longer use Nen and let the Phantom Troupe go, while Odin blocked Machi from reaching her leader.
  • Kurapika explained to Odin that killing the Spiders could provoke Meteor City and lead to more deaths, then left the harbor with Odin and Ponzu.
  • On September 6, Odin and Ponzu arrived at the Nampis Auction and joined Gon, Killua, and Milluki in the hall.
  • The auctioneer demonstrated that the Greed Island console could withstand a hammer strike and opened bidding at 8.9 billion Jenny.

  • Ponzu practiced controlling her insects and considered developing a ranged attack while Odin tried, unsuccessfully, to make his Aura Node system store internal energy.

Ch. 93Entering the game

Odin failed to find a way to store Internal Energy in his body, then traveled with Ponzu and the others to enter Greed Island. After arriving, he began examining the Nen used to transport him and met the Game Guide, who started explaining the rules.

  • Odin tried storing Internal Energy in his Dantian and bones, then tested an external core but abandoned the idea of maintaining it constantly.
  • On September 10, Odin and Ponzu met Gon, Killua, and Tsezguerra at the train station and traveled with the group to Battera's estate.
  • Tsezguerra warned the group that dying in Greed Island meant dying in reality, then used rock-paper-scissors to set their entry order.
  • Ponzu entered Greed Island before Odin, who activated the Rabbit Talisman at maximum output as he channeled Nen into the console.
  • Odin arrived in a Nen Script-lined room, met the Game Guide, and watched her begin the rules explanation.

Ch. 94The rules of Greed Island

Odin and Ponzu entered Greed Island, where Odin learned the game’s card rules and headed toward Andoni Valley, Bounty City to earn money. A player tried to target them with a spell, but Odin quickly subdued him and discovered the card he planned to use.

  • A girl explained Greed Island’s BOOK and GAIN spells, card limits, and the consequences of dying or staying away from the game too long.
  • After Odin left the rules room, the girl became suspicious of how he knew the rules and contacted the island’s other creators.
  • Odin met Ponzu outside and said they were penniless in the game, then led her toward Andoni Valley, Bounty City to make money.
  • A cloaked player appeared and prepared to use a spell card on Odin and Ponzu.
  • Odin vanished from the player’s view, seized him, and took his Close-Up card, which could reveal the contents of an opponent’s designated pocket.

Ch. 95Andoni Valley

Odin and Ponzu reached Andoni Valley, where players earned Jenny through bounties, and stopped at a restaurant to try its noodle-eating challenge. Gon and Killua joined Odin in the challenge, and all three won a card.

  • Odin took all the cards and money from a gray-robed player, then let him leave.
  • Two gray-robed players attacked Odin and escaped to Masadora using an Accompany card, but Odin nearly shot down their Nen transport.

Odin and Ponzu explored Andoni Valley, earned money through a quest, and settled into an inn while Gon and Killua learned about the Bomber. Odin planned to enter the Monthly Lottery as bait, expecting other designated cards to appear afterward.

  • Odin paid for Gon and Killua’s sodas, then a distant explosion led them to a dead player and a warning from Kenneth about the Bomber.
  • Gon and Killua went with Kenneth to hear about recruiting, while Odin and Ponzu declined and Odin explained that the three Bombers were little threat to them.

Ch. 97Two Fists Against Four Hands

Odin won Andoni Valley’s monthly rock-paper-scissors tournament and claimed the Sword of Truth, then foiled a group of players’ attempt to steal it with the Holy Knight’s Necklace. As Gon and Killua fought the attackers, their leader broke away and charged at Odin and Ponzu.

  • Odin beat Gon and Killua in the tournament and won the Sword of Truth card.
  • A group of players surrounded Odin and demanded that he hand over the Sword of Truth.
  • The group tried to use Theft, but Odin’s Holy Knight’s Necklace blocked the card and he gained their Elder’s Hair Growth Potion instead.
  • Gon and Killua fought the group and found their opponents were less formidable than Nobunaga.
  • The burly leader left the fight with several companions and charged toward Odin and Ponzu.

Ch. 98Are you ready?

Odin stripped cards and money from a group of would-be robbers in Greed Island, then sold the specified slot cards he had collected with Ponzu. As they left Andoni Valley, Odin enveloped Ponzu in an unfamiliar aura and launched them toward their next destination.

  • Odin used Dragonfly's speed to confront the burly robber and took his cards and banknotes, then emptied the Spell Books of the others who stayed behind.
  • Odin told the burly man to keep robbing people, then left the square with Ponzu, Gon, and Killua as the other would-be robbers watched.
