The sun was about to set.
The entire Monen Plain shimmered with golden light!
Keeping his promise, Jiang You headed to Goblin King Amigel's tent with a squad of personal guards.
Along the way, he passed one neat, solemn Goblin army camp after another, all impeccably ordered!
Every Goblin soldier he saw stood tall and proud. They were all elite troops!
With such elite soldiers at the dawn of their nation, it was little wonder the Goblins could dominate the continent for an entire chapter of its history.
He ventured deeper, passing through checkpoint after checkpoint, until he finally arrived outside an enormous tent.
It was a vast, round tent standing at the very center of the Goblin encampment!
Its pure white color made it look like a cloud floating in a green sky.
Outside, two rows of Goblin soldiers stood silently, wearing plumed helmets and yellow cloaks, armed with spears and swords. They were taller and larger than ordinary Goblins.
They were the Yellow-Robed Guards, the most elite personal guard unit under Goblin King Amigel!
Every one of them was a transcendent professional!
Members of any race who walked past them felt as though they were passing through a forest of steel, cold and terrifying!
When Jiang You entered the tent, many of the races' leaders had already arrived.
Goblin King Amigel valued the strength of the Winged People's army immensely and treated Jiang You with great respect.
He had placed Jiang You in the third seat below his own, behind only the trolls and dwarves, and even above the centaur chieftain!
Even an ancient monarch knew that air power outweighed cavalry!
Amigel personally welcomed Jiang You to his seat, finally giving Jiang You a chance to meet this legendary Goblin monarch.
From what Jiang You remembered, and from the elves' vague historical records in the fifth chapter of history, he knew something of this king.
This great legendary leader of the Goblins had been born into Ferland's largest Goblin tribe toward the end of the age of Titans and dragons.
His talent was extraordinary. Even in this era's underdeveloped transcendent system, he had reached legendary rank at just over a hundred years old. He had led the Goblins step by step from slavery under the Titan Giants to the throne of world supremacy, becoming the Supreme King who dominated the second chapter of the Ferland Continent's history!
Legend held that this monarch was incredibly powerful. The Goblins' other two legendary figures were both formidable, yet he had subdued the Goblin Great Sage and High Priest and united the Goblins across the entire continent. Clearly, his strength and methods were anything but ordinary. He was no mere run-of-the-mill figure!
What left the deepest impression on Jiang You, however, was the flawless white spear Amigel held, which seemed to glow.
This was the divine weapon Amigel's Spear, forged through the efforts of his entire race using rare materials Amigel had sought out across the continent and an unknown, mysterious forging method!
It was a godslaying spear. Amigel had used it to kill a Titan Giant with his own hands!
It was also an ill-omened spear.
In the Goblin Empire's future...
Several Goblin emperors, including Amigel himself, would be slain by this very Amigel's Spear!
But those were all things that might happen in the future.
For now...
Jiang You looked at the Goblin King before him, seated at the head of the gathering as though upon a throne.
Legendary figures of ordinary sapient races lived for roughly a thousand years or more. Amigel was probably around five hundred now, right in his prime!
Though his stature looked small compared with the other races present, his presence was astonishing.
Even though Jiang You was confident he would become legendary one day, he still felt admiration for this middle-aged Goblin.
The Titan Giants and Primordial Dragons had ruled Ferland for countless years. Only Amigel had dared to resist-and ultimately succeeded.
A little more time passed.
Once all the leaders of the races on the Monen Plain had arrived, Amigel finally spoke.
His voice was steady, powerful, and deeply compelling.
"Chieftains and kings, thank you for bringing your people to join ours in resisting the rule of those damned Titan Giants!"
"Think back to the moment our ancestors became slaves to the Titan Giants. From then on, generation after generation of us remained their slaves!"
"I believe everyone here is like our own people! We are all races that yearn for freedom!"
"No one wishes to remain a slave forever. That is why we have taken up arms!"
In his seat below, Jiang You listened quietly and attentively.
Inwardly, he rolled his eyes several times at Goblin King Amigel's words.
The real reason behind all this was that both sides had suffered devastating casualties in the War of the Titan and Dragons. The decline of the Titan Giants and dragons was inevitable, and that had given the Goblins their opening.
And the Goblins were hardly the only ones thinking they could take their place!
If Jiang You had the strength of the Goblin race at his disposal, he would have been the one delivering that speech!
At the head of the gathering...
Amigel continued his impassioned address.
"Today, I, Amigel, meet with all your races here on the Monen Plain to forge an alliance. I am willing to swear a blood oath: from this day forth, the Goblins and all of you present shall forever be brother races!"
As he spoke, he took a cup of wine from an attendant, cut his palm with a short blade, and let a drop of blood fall into it. The wine was immediately stained red.
Then he looked at the somewhat stunned chieftains seated before him.
A line of Goblin attendants brought a cup of wine to every racial leader present.
Jiang You was no exception. He could only follow Amigel's example, cutting his palm and dripping blood into his cup.
All the while, he complained furiously to himself.
Who knows where Amigel learned this trick? Either way, he's just pioneered the practice of sealing an alliance with blood on the Ferland Continent!
Seeing that every race had followed his example, Amigel brimmed with bold enthusiasm!
"Everyone, drink!"
With that, he drained his cup.
The hundreds of racial leaders present drank theirs as well.
Afterward...
Amigel laughed heartily.
"We have sealed our alliance with blood and pledged to be brother races. Once we destroy the Titans, we shall divide the continent among us!"
"Yes!"
"Yes!"
"Amigel!"
"Amigel!"
People were still straightforward in this era. When had the folk of Ferland ever seen anything like this?
In any case, everyone present was swept up in his bold spirit and cheered loudly.
With that...
The alliance was settled, and Amigel had completed the first step in his campaign against the Titan Giants.
The second step...
Was to discuss tactics.
But tactics in this era were very simple.
Air against air, ground against ground-then just charge straight through.
Jiang You was assigned to deal with the aerial forces in the Titan Giants' camp.
These mainly consisted of Eaglemen, Griffins, hippogryphs, and the like!
If any transcendent professionals capable of flight appeared, Amigel promised to send the Goblins' Wind Knights to support him.
The assignments were simple, but there were too many races.
With arrangements made for each race in turn, the meeting lasted until the following afternoon.
On the third day...
Goblin King Amigel stood atop the highest hill on the Monen Plain and delivered another impassioned speech, declaring that the Titans were tyrants and all races must unite to overthrow them. His words sent the morale of the million-strong army soaring.
The minotaurs in particular roared, their eyes red as they brandished stone axes and tree trunks.
And so, amid this fervor...
The army marched, heading straight for Proadas, the Titans' Royal Court!
