Background / History
Childhood and Education
Jun Mo’s parents left him on a mountain as a child. His master restricted him to a limited area, and his senior and junior brothers avoided him. This upbringing left him relatively detached from conventional family bonds 273.
His education was not neglected despite his confinement. After learning to read, he could freely study books in the Library Pavilion, laying the groundwork for his knowledge of formations 292. His reading and limited social contact nevertheless left gaps in his understanding of adult relationships 485.
Life on Iceberg
Iceberg offered Jun Mo few opportunities to fight. Apart from the Jiaoren that broke free of a seal and manipulated the ice around his home, he encountered almost nothing alive. He obtained resources by blasting apart ice, finding both a cultivation spell and an advanced magical artifact this way 272 280 283 284.
After taking in Lingxu, he bought a Beginner Spirit Spring Source and dug a cultivation pool. The purchase immediately raised the little Jiaoren’s Recognition by forty points, although its later refusal to rise beyond sixty made him cautious about trusting it 192 211.
To survive Iceberg’s extreme cold, he surrounded his home with twenty layers of cold-resistant courtyard walls. He left these defenses behind when he unexpectedly crossed into Snow Mountain 265 274.
Settling Near Ye Fei
Ye Fei found Jun Mo in the snow after Eclipse Moon repeatedly stomped him into it. Jun Mo did not understand how he had crossed the regional barrier, but recognized Ye Fei’s companions and realized where he had arrived 270.
With Ye Fei’s help, he established a nearby homestead and began adapting to a region where beasts, Demon Insects, and other players posed immediate threats. He chose to participate in the Demon Insect expedition rather than rely on the resource-gathering habits that had sustained him on Iceberg 274 280.
His later home at Free and Unrestrained Mountain accommodated both companions: half land planted with spirit grass and half seawater, with separate terrestrial and underwater entrances 495.
Appearance
- Youthful Daoist appearance: Wears Daoist robes and ties his hair into a rounded bun on top of his head 270 284 430.
- Expressive manner: Frequently shows his feelings openly, including tearful complaints, embarrassment, and conspicuous excitement when presenting an achievement 270 271 310.
Personality
Jun Mo is playful, affectionate, and eager to share his accomplishments with Ye Fei. He enjoys roughhousing with Eclipse Moon, showing off new spells, and celebrating useful rewards. When Ye Fei initially focuses on the cost rather than the novelty of his Sound Isolation Technique, Jun Mo admits that he simply wanted to show his brother something new 279 283 285.
His need for attention is tied to a childhood without gentle companionship. He initially imagines himself as the parent responsible for protecting his pets, but comes to recognize that Lingxiao and Lingxu often look after him instead. He willingly makes a fuss to enjoy their care 282. Ye Fei also recognizes a fear of abandonment beneath his antics: Jun Mo works hard to prove his usefulness so that he will continue to be wanted 310.
Affection does not make him entirely uncritical. He acknowledges the danger suggested by Lingxu’s stalled Recognition and accepts warnings to protect himself 211. He is also protective of others, shielding Ye Fei from gunfire, rescuing Lin Mu, and insisting on accompanying Lingxu during a confrontation tied to the Jiaoren’s previous incarnation 286 294 730.
Abilities & Skills
Future Sight and Time-Related Perception
Jun Mo experiences fragments of events that will occur. Feng An distinguishes this ability from ordinary prophecy or divination, and advises Ye Fei to keep it secret 665.
- Advance warnings: Alerts Ye Fei to the approaching attack on his home and later warns him about its destruction during a Thunder Tribulation 207 238.
- Personal glimpses: Sees a future with a speaking Lingxu and a fully grown cat, his own visit to Ye Fei’s home, and the flying sword Lingkong 211 231 512.
- Reliable but incomplete scenes: His vision of Ye Fei’s destroyed home does not reveal that Ye Fei and Little Phoenix caused the destruction themselves. Ye Fei concludes that the warnings help minimize losses rather than prevent the observed events 238 293.
- Physical strain: Deliberately seeking visions can leave him dizzy, headachy, and needing rest. Spontaneous glimpses are generally less taxing 238.
- Unavailable information: Repeated attempts to investigate future regional changes produce no useful vision 366.
- No conventional leveling: His talent has no experience bar and cannot be leveled in the manner of Ye Fei’s See Through 665.
After returning from an experience involving his past, Jun Mo describes having accompanied his younger self as an observer throughout his childhood 665. He later discovers that he can watch his past self and transmit a tiny amount of information to him. The scenes he had understood as future sight were faint images triggered by his future self looking back. Ye Fei connects this to Jun Mo’s Innate Dao Body, which is associated with time 746.
Formation Arts
Jun Mo applies knowledge learned before entering the survival world rather than relying entirely on system-made formation disks 290 292.
- Directional demolition: Arranges explosives into formations, connects them with spiritual energy, and guides two blasts that destroy the Ant Nest. The process significantly drains him 292 295.
- Formation instruction: Reconstructs an annotated beginner’s guide from memory and later trades it to Lin Mu 294.
- Linked growth formation: Creates a twelve-layer formation disk granting plants an additional 120% growth amplification. The linked layers count as one formation, working around the restriction of one amplification formation per area 310.
- Development limits: Despite his knowledge, he later acknowledges that he cannot yet readily use formations in combat 367.
Most people believe formation talent is his special ability; Ye Fei keeps the truth about his future sight closely guarded 613.
Defensive Shields
Jun Mo uses Golden Light Shields both defensively and as shaped enclosures.
- Intercepting attacks: Blocks bullets aimed at Ye Fei’s back during a player’s sudden rampage 286.
- Reshaping barriers: Forms a small, completely isolated “house” for Die Wu and the injured Black Lao Qi. His construction is crude and cramped, but functional 438.
- Five Elements fusion: Following Ye Fei’s explanation, spends several million points on compatible shields and creates an intermediate Five Elements Shield 584.
- Power limits: His Golden Light Shield shatters almost immediately when Feng An confronts him 317.
Sound Isolation Technique
A cultivation spell recovered from the ice creates a barrier that prevents outsiders from hearing a conversation 283.
- Strong enough to block Eclipse Moon’s hearing.
- Consumes more than ten points of spiritual energy per second.
- Ye Fei recommends private chat for routine secrecy to avoid wasting energy 283.
Cultivation and Combat
- Balanced attributes: From Qi Refining onward, his attributes remain within ten points of one another, contrasting with Lu Heng’s highly uneven distribution 454.
- Magical artifact control: Uses artifacts to kill Demon Insects and restrain Lin Mu when the latter is drawn toward dangerous water by an illusion 294 295.
- Limited early experience: On first moving to Snow Mountain, he can anticipate an incoming hit without being physically fast enough to evade it 280.
- Heart barrier endurance: Returns lucid but exhausted after an ordeal that feels like several lifetimes of reincarnation. Failure to escape such a barrier would wear away the soul 626.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Lingkong — Flying sword received from Ye Fei. Jun Mo recognizes it from earlier visions and takes it home to refine. Maze rewards later provide materials for further improvement; it has not yet developed consciousness at that point 512 513 583.
- Red ring magical artifact — An advanced magical artifact recovered from Iceberg’s ice 284.
- Restraint artifact — Catches Lin Mu before he falls into lethal hot water; Jun Mo holds him using a rope wrapped in spiritual energy 294.
- Explosives — Used in formation-assisted demolition. He also exchanges three thousand prepared portions, together with his formation guide, for a Water Spirit intended for Lingxu 294 295.
- Flame essence — A red-quality, leaf-shaped gift from Phoenix Perch. Keeps its bearer warm and can serve as an artifact- or pill-refining material 310.
- Jiaozhu — Earned from Die Wu in exchange for maintaining an isolated shelter. He gives it to Lingxu to initiate growth and awakening of origin power 438 441.
- Linked plant-growth formation disk — Given to Ye Fei and Phoenix Perch. The tree incorporates it into a twelve-strand wind chime hanging from a low branch 310.
Relationships
- Ye Fei — Chosen older-brother figure, adviser, and protector. Jun Mo calls him “Bro” or “Brother,” shares warnings with him, and frequently visits for meals. Ye Fei helps him settle nearby and protects the secret of his future sight 192 274 308 613.
- Lingxiao — His leopard cat, which evolves into a large longhaired cat and can also assume a leopard form. Often appears exasperated with Jun Mo but carries him, pushes him to work, and rescues him from Eclipse Moon’s rough play 271 275 279 295.
- Lingxu — His Jiaoren companion. Their initially uncertain bond develops into mutual care. Jun Mo invests in cultivation pools, a Water Spirit, and a Jiaozhu, and later supports Lingxu’s revenge without judging the Jiaoren’s previous life 211 282 295 438 730.
- Phoenix Perch — Initially the subject of Jun Mo’s alarming tree-chopping vision. Their interactions include fireball chases, but the tree visibly treasures his formation gift and rewards him with flame essence 231 271 299 310.
- Lu Heng — Friend and fellow cultivator. They joke about Ye Fei together and share discomfort after learning that the workers are made from dead players’ souls 442 484.
- Lin Mu — A teasing, occasionally contentious friend whom Jun Mo repeatedly helps when injured. Their Water Spirit negotiation ends with Ye Fei warning Jun Mo not to let Lin Mu fleece him 294 391.
- Feng An — An intimidating senior who knows about Jun Mo’s hidden ability. Jun Mo is wary of his dangerous aura; Feng An urges secrecy because the ability is not ordinary divination 274 665.
- Long Heng — Friend added during a snowball fight and later teammate in the Nethersea Abyss match. Jun Mo is distressed by Long Heng’s severe injuries during the giant-snake battle 366 385 626.
- Fan — Faction-war teammate who becomes notably clingy toward Jun Mo, even sleeping with his head on Jun Mo’s lap 626 629.

Trivia
- Exceptionally poor cook: His clear-stewed mutton is rated white quality for undercooking, damaged ingredients, insufficient broth, and excessive salt. Lin Mu later describes his cooking as producing either barely nonlethal food or waste 308 644.
- Meals are also companionship: Before his cooking failure becomes undeniable, he admits to himself that learning to cook would remove his excuse to visit Ye Fei every day 308.
- Simple long-term priorities: His principal interests are formations, cultivation, and ensuring that his cat and Jiaoren grow up healthy 501.
