Kaido transformed into his Azure Dragon form and flew toward the Sabaody Archipelago, prompting the Marines to suspect he was heading for Su Yu. Sengoku dispatched Kizaru to respond, while the World Government barred the Celestial Dragons from visiting the islands for a month.
Sabo and his companions returned the Dragon God Cloth to Baltigo, where it chose Monkey D. Dragon and greatly increased his strength. As Kaido neared the Sabaody Archipelago, Kizaru waited anxiously at Abel’s place.
Kaido arrived at the Sabaody Archipelago and headed for Red Tree No. 13, where Su Yu’s bar stood. As panic spread, Kaido demanded that Su Yu come out.
Kaido destroyed Red Tree No. 13 with Dragon Breath while demanding Su Yu come out. Su Yu confronted him in the sky and raised one hand against Kaido’s next blast.
Su Yu effortlessly blocked Kaido’s Dragon’s Breath, then challenged him after Kaido came seeking someone who could grant his wish to die. Kaido launched a storm of wind blades, and Su Yu sent a shattered-space attack toward him, leaving Kaido bracing for impact.
Su Yu’s Shattered Mirror froze Kaido in place and shattered his dragon body, sending him crashing to the ground. Kaido recovered through his awakened Zoan abilities, but looked exhausted as Su Yu landed before him.
Kaido eagerly challenged Su Yu after surviving his overwhelming first blow, but Su Yu effortlessly overpowered him with physical strength alone. Kaido transformed into his Dragon-Human Form to escape the beating, while Su Yu remained unscathed.
Kaido shifted into his dragon-human form and desperately tried to land a hit on Su Yu, but Su Yu effortlessly stopped his attacks. Kaido then grabbed Su Yu and unleashed Dragon Breath at close range, leaving Su Yu alarmed by the attack.
Su Yu overwhelmed Kaido, who admitted defeat and feared what Su Yu would do with him. Su Yu considered sparing Kaido rather than killing him, leaving Kaido imagining a grim future as his punching bag and blaming Doflamingo for sending him there.
Su Yu forced Kaido to sign a contract binding him to protect the Wish-Granting Bar and Miland, then let him leave. After Kaido flew away, Su Yu restored the battle-damaged surroundings.
After Su Yu defeated Kaido and restored the wrecked surroundings, news of the clash spread across the world and reached the Marines and the Five Elders. The chapter ended as a masked man reported to the Five Elders in Mary Geoise.
The Five Elders learned that Su Yu had effortlessly defeated Kaido and decided to report him to Lord Imu. News of Kaido’s defeat spread across the world, reaching Whitebeard’s ship, where Sass hurried to tell Whitebeard.
The Whitebeard Pirates learned that Su Yu had utterly defeated Kaido, and Whitebeard considered the young stranger’s strength while reflecting on his own title as the World's Strongest Man. The chapter ended with Whitebeard laughing off the possibility of losing that title as his crew struggled to accept the news.
News of Su Yu defeating Kaido shocked figures across the seas, including Gecko Moria, whose past defeat by Kaido and the deaths of his crew drove him into a rampage. The chapter ended with Sanji reading the report aboard the Going Merry as a crewmate rushed over to ask about it.
After Su Yu’s defeat of Kaido made the Wish-Granting Bar famous, Kaido went to Dressrosa and brutally beat Doflamingo for reasons Doflamingo could not understand. Kaido left Doflamingo battered in the palace ruins, while Pica and the other officers rushed to help him.
Doflamingo recovered from Kaido’s beating and feared Su Yu might discover he had arranged the attack on the bar. A month later, Marco arrived at Su Yu’s bar seeking help for Whitebeard’s worsening condition, and asked the other patrons to leave.
Marco sought a way to restore Whitebeard’s health, and Su Yu offered to heal him or return him to his prime in exchange for Devil Fruits. Before Marco could choose, Blackbeard entered the bar, and Marco confronted him with open hostility.
Blackbeard arrived at Su Yu’s bar and provoked Marco by mocking Whitebeard’s condition. Su Yu stopped their impending fight by sealing their Devil Fruit powers, then asked whether Blackbeard had come for a drink or to make a wish.
Blackbeard came to scout Su Yu, hoping to learn whether the man who had effortlessly beaten Kaido could be countered by his Dark-Dark Fruit. After Su Yu’s cough frightened him, Blackbeard masked his fear with a joke, but remained desperate to find a way to pursue his ambition.
Blackbeard fled after realizing Su Yu could suppress his Devil Fruit, then set his sights on Pluton as a way to gain power. Meanwhile, Marco accepted Su Yu’s offer to restore Whitebeard to his prime, and Su Yu sealed a life-filled orb inside an apple for him to take to Whitebeard.
Marco took Su Yu’s restorative apple back to Whitebeard on credit, while Doflamingo’s search for Pluton led to an attempted apology at Su Yu’s bar. Diamante left empty-handed after Su Yu ordered him out.
Doflamingo pinned his hopes on finding Pluton to protect himself from Su Yu. On the Moby Dick, Marco gave Whitebeard a special apple, which transformed him and began healing his injuries and restoring his strength.
Whitebeard recovered his strength and tested his restored power with a devastating punch that triggered a Seaquake. The Moby Dick survived the waves, while a Marine surveillance boat was destroyed, leaving its crew stranded but alive.
After eating Marco’s apple, Whitebeard regained his youthful prime, and Marco explained that Su Yu had provided it in exchange for ten Devil Fruits. Whitebeard sent his crew to find two Logia fruits, while Fleet Admiral Sengoku remained baffled by reports of Whitebeard’s sudden outburst.
Miland completed a month of study and grueling combat training with Su Yu, greatly improving his knowledge and strength but remaining short of being able to reliably defeat Doflamingo. Meanwhile, the Whitebeard Pirates found one Logia Devil Fruit by chance, and after weeks of fruitless searching, a turning point appeared.
