| Status | Alive 205 |

Appearance
- Present-day Jade: A young girl, approximately ten years old, with her hair tied into two small braids during the northern China expedition 80 175.
- Usual accessory: A small Super Moose backpack, carried on archaeological trips and to school 177 180 184.
- Future Jade: A woman in her early twenties with a trim figure, short hair, and a black uniform 80.
Personality
Jade is adventurous, impulsive, and determined not to miss supernatural events. She follows Jackie to an archaeological site without permission and promises not to touch anything, only to excavate a buried staff shortly afterward. The prospect of gods and demons awakening excites her enough to call it a “real age of mythology” and wonder whether she should find a hammer 169 175.
Her curiosity often overrides caution, but she is not fearless. Jormungandr’s emergence frightens her into seeking Wangchuan’s reassurance and calling Jackie. Once Wangchuan suggests taking the serpent as a pet, however, she eagerly asks to ride on its head 195 197.
Jade also shows compassion independent of personal gain. After the Phoenix saves Jackie, she objects to its imprisonment rather than celebrating her control over it. She encourages it to fly freely, relinquishing command of a creature Wangchuan considers one of the world’s strongest fighting forces 178.
Abilities & Skills
Favor of Heaven’s Will
Wangchuan attributes Jade’s extraordinary feats to the protection of Heaven’s Will 80 178.
- Exceptional striking force: Her kick sends Wangchuan more than ten meters backward through the Eclipse Gate, despite his substantial Moon Demon power and additional Shendu template 80.
- Overriding divine restraints: When Jade wishes the Phoenix free, the Eternal Flame Staff disintegrates and its divine shackles break. Wangchuan concludes that her will has overridden a deity’s laws 178.
- Unconscious operation: Jade does not deliberately invoke this protection. She describes the staff’s destruction as something that happened on its own 178 180.
Saint’s Imprint
Pops identifies an ancient imprint within Jade’s soul and privately regards her as a Saint’s reincarnation 168.
- Allows her to hear Jormungandr’s distant cry when Jackie, Parker, and others nearby hear nothing 166 168.
- Leaves her with a sense that she has heard the cry before, although she cannot remember where 166 168.
- Is described by Pops as a perception that training alone cannot provide 168.
Unconscious Summoning
Quetzalcoatl senses Jade calling him and awakens with the intention of protecting her 196.
- Identifies her as the Maya Goddess and declares that protecting her is his mission 196 200.
- Responds without Jade knowingly issuing a summons; she is confused by his explanation and insists that she is “just Jade” 200.
- Does not establish that Jade consciously understands or accepts the divine identity he assigns her 200.
Artifact Use and Script Comprehension
- Unrecognized writing: Jade reads the Eternal Flame Staff’s inscription despite not recognizing its characters; their meaning appears in her mind as she speaks 175 176.
- Phoenix invocation: Repeating the inscription activates the staff and manifests the Phoenix 177.
- Command: While holding the staff, she asks the Phoenix to rescue Jackie, and it destroys the attacking Earth Spirits 177.
- Limit: Her demonstrated control depends on the staff, which is destroyed when the Phoenix is freed 177 178.
Agility and Observation
- Evades repeated attacks by Earth Spirits while carrying a staff approximately her own height, surprising Daolon Wong 175 177.
- Notices that the moon is too round for its expected phase and has a purplish-gray halo, prompting Pops to investigate the heavens 160.
- Spots the small exposed corner of the buried Eternal Flame Staff at the excavation site 175.
Equipment / Items
- Eternal Flame Staff: A golden, phoenix-topped staff covered in ancient writing. Jade excavates it in northern China and briefly uses it to command the Phoenix. It dissolves into golden light when the creature’s imprisonment ends 175 177 178.
- Super Moose backpack: Her recurring school and travel bag 177 180 184.
- Mobile phone: Used to contact Jackie during Jormungandr’s awakening after Wangchuan restores its unresponsive screen with a touch 195.
Relationships
- Jackie Chan — Her uncle and protector. He repeatedly tries to keep her out of danger, though her intervention with the Phoenix saves him from Daolon Wong’s Earth Spirits 175 177.
- Pops — Her supernatural guide and disciplinarian. He understands the significance of her Saint’s imprint, warns her against interfering with Mozi’s time machine, and makes her help around the antique shop 168 180 185.
- Tohru — A friendly member of her household circle who prepares her food. Jade takes his ominous premonitions seriously and praises their accuracy 181 185.
- Wangchuan / Tso Lan — Initially the stranger she kicks through the Eclipse Gate, later an ally she addresses as Tso Lan. Her initial fear of his return gives way to easy conversation and reliance on his protection during the divine crisis 80 186 194 195.
- Phoenix — Rescues Jackie at her request, then thanks her for ending its imprisonment. It promises to remember her before departing 177 178.
- Quetzalcoatl — Recognizes her as the Maya Goddess and fights Kali to protect her, despite Jade’s rejection of that identity 196 200.
- Loke / Loki — First encounters her while disguised as a woman and senses an ancient deity’s aura within her. They later watch the unfolding battles together, and Jade argues with him over whether his enormous son Jormungandr could be ridden 184 194 197.
Story Role / Major Arcs
Encounter at the Eclipse Gate
During a confrontation involving Drago at the Golden Gate Bridge, present-day Jade is accompanied by her future self. When Wangchuan leans through the newly opened Eclipse Gate, young Jade kicks him back to the Moon before he can enter. Neither version of Jade understands who the stranger was 80 173.
Signs of the Ancient Awakening
Jade’s observation of the abnormal moon leads Pops to discover that Tso Lan’s stellar position has vanished. Later, during the stadium conflict, she hears the distant cry of Jormungandr. Pops connects her unusual perception to her Saint’s imprint and warns that the serpent’s awakening signals instability in the world’s foundations 160 166 168.
When Pops explains that gods will awaken to counter the returning demons, Jade responds with excitement rather than Jackie’s alarm, imagining battles from mythology and a new age of supernatural adventures 169.
The Eternal Flame Staff and the Phoenix
After secretly following Jackie to northern China, Jade discovers the Eternal Flame Staff. Daolon Wong attacks the excavation site to seize it, and Jackie orders her to take it to Pops. Pursued by Earth Spirits, she returns toward Jackie and activates the staff on his instructions, summoning the Phoenix to save him 175 176 177.
Jade then questions why the Phoenix must obey whoever holds the staff. As she and Jackie discuss freeing it, the staff breaks apart and releases the creature from shackles imposed tens of thousands of years earlier. Back at the antique shop, Pops explains that the Phoenix’s emergence represents a movement of Good Chi that Evil Chi will answer 178 180.
Divine Statues and the Ragnarok Crisis
Jade accompanies Jackie and Wangchuan to investigate statues at the San Francisco Natural History Museum, where she recognizes Quetzalcoatl. After Wangchuan leaves, she disappears from Jackie’s side and later joins Wangchuan and Loke on a rooftop, saying she came up by elevator 190 191 193.
When Jormungandr rises, Jackie instructs Jade to remain beside Wangchuan. Quetzalcoatl awakens elsewhere, senses her presence, and flies to defend her. His subsequent defeat by Kali leaves Wangchuan to seal the goddess, after which Jade asks whether she can ever be released 195 196 200 201.
Jade witnesses Wangchuan secure Jormungandr’s submission and afterward joins Wangchuan, Quetzalcoatl, Loke, and Sol for breakfast 202 203.
Wangchuan’s Anchor to the World
Jade watches Pops and Tohru perform the ritual associated with Wangchuan’s trigram fusion. When Pops explains that Tso Lan’s dark chi is now anchored to their world, she asks whether he will return someday. Pops assures her that he will, because his roots remain there 205.
