Arc 28The Shattering and the Violet Citadel

As Deathwing’s Cataclysm shook Azeroth, Patrick helped coordinate the response while the Arcane Pact joined the defense of Wyrmrest Temple and seized the Violet Citadel. After destroying Dalaran and punishing its conspirators, Patrick turned to Ulduar, Uldum, and the effort to shelter the surviving dragon eggs.

  • Gordawg warned Thrall that a powerful being had fallen into madness, and Thrall returned to Azeroth as earthquakes and tsunamis revealed the Cataclysm’s spread.
  • Patrick identified Neltharion as the cause of the disasters, alerted Malygos, and joined Medivh, Thrall, and the Alliance in planning a response to Deathwing.
  • Twilight dragons attacked Wyrmrest Temple, and Patrick sent Arcane Pact forces to help Malygos, Alexstrasza, and Ysera repel them and uncover the corruption infecting the dragon eggs.
  • Patrick and the dragonflights agreed to move the contaminated eggs to the Caverns of Time, while the Tuskarr and Kul Tiras committed forces to the campaign.
  • Patrick and Kael’thas attacked the Violet Citadel after most of its High Elf residents chose to leave Dalaran, and Illidan stripped Jaina of her spellcasting before Tandred took her into custody.
  • Patrick destroyed the Violet Citadel, then helped Kael’thas set punishments for the captured conspirators and investigate how the Kirin Tor had obtained knowledge of Arcane Mass Point.
  • As the Cenarion Circle reported Thrall’s assault and other threats mounted, Patrick brought forces to Ulduar and ordered the Four Guardians to protect Uldum and attack the Old Gods.
  • Illidan and Maiev joined Patrick at Ulduar, which flew to Tanaris, where Patrick told the Bronze Dragons that the surviving dragon eggs would be sheltered in the Caverns of Time.
Chapters 704–730 Vol. 7 Read

Ch. 704Revelation

Thrall asked Gordawg to learn about Azeroth’s danger by tasting a stone from his world, and Gordawg sensed that the elements feared a once-wise being who had turned dark and sought to destroy the earth. Thrall and Agna resolved to return to Azeroth and discover how to stop the coming catastrophe.

  • Thrall explained that Azeroth’s sickness could spread through the portal and threaten Outland, so Gordawg tasted soil to learn about an unfamiliar world.
  • Thrall gave Gordawg a small stone from Azeroth, and Gordawg sensed that it was terrified and that the world’s elements feared an approaching threat.
  • Gordawg warned Thrall that a once-powerful, wise being had fallen into madness and would bring destruction to Azeroth through anger, chaos, and flame.
  • Gordawg compared the stone’s fear to the fear he had sensed before Draenor was torn apart, and Thrall recalled that Drek'Thar’s troubling dreams had been accurate.
  • Thrall told Agna he would return to Azeroth to investigate the elements’ fear, and Agna pledged the shamans’ support to protect their world.

Ch. 705The Horde's internal affairs

Horde leaders gathered in Orgrimmar to decide how to address Magatha and the Grimtotem’s growing influence in Thunder Bluff. Garrosh and Dorothy pressed for a clear response to secure the Horde’s internal stability, while Cairne resisted violence against fellow tauren.

  • Cairne summoned Horde leaders to discuss the Grimtotem, who lived in Thunder Bluff but had never formally joined the Horde.
  • Hamuul described Magatha’s growing boldness, while Krona offered to help destroy the Grimtotem and Cairne refused to kill his own people.
  • Garrosh warned that Magatha might be trying to seize Thunder Bluff and argued that the Grimtotem could not claim Horde rights without joining the Horde.
  • Garrosh emphasized that Mulgore and Thunder Bluff were vital to the Horde’s food supply and that the Horde needed to control its own resources.
  • Dorothy urged Hamuul to make the Grimtotem declare their position and abandon their schemes, arguing that the Horde needed stability and unity.

Ch. 706Portents of the Cataclysm

Garrosh and the Horde leaders confronted warnings of an approaching cataclysm as earthquakes and a devastating tsunami struck the coasts. Thrall sensed that a feared evil at the heart of the Maelstrom was tearing Azeroth apart, while Medivh rushed back to Stormwind and left Med'an in Bolvar and Meryl Winterstorm’s care.

  • After reading Dorothy’s report and hearing Drek'Thar’s warning, Garrosh urged the leaders to confront the growing crisis and Hamuul said it was time to deal with Magatha.
  • Violent tremors shook the Horde gathering as the seabed split and residents fled their homes.
  • The sea receded at Storm Harbor, then a tsunami smashed ships, swept away people and supplies, and submerged the harbor; a sinkhole also opened along Westfall’s coast.
  • Thrall arrived in Durotar and felt the earth split and surge beneath him before the earth elements’ cries revealed a hidden evil at the heart of the Maelstrom.
  • Medivh sensed Azeroth being torn apart and ordered Bolvar and Meryl Winterstorm to return to Stormwind City with the weakened Med'an, then teleported away himself.

Ch. 707Preparations for the Cataclysm

After returning to Quel'Thalas, Patrick received reports of the Cataclysm's devastation and learned that Neltharion was behind the disasters. He ordered the Covenant to prepare for war and sent word to the Alliance, Horde, and Malygos as Azeroth's forces began to gather against Deathwing.

  • Patrick returned to Quel'Thalas, where survivors from Gilneas settled in New Faolun City and Quelrins City as the Eastern Plaguelands recovered.
  • Patrick reviewed reports of tsunamis, storms, earthquakes, and fires across Azeroth, while Pasareen explained that Quel'Thalas and its neighboring settlements had largely escaped harm.
  • Patrick identified Neltharion as the cause of the Cataclysm and ordered every member nation of the Covenant to prepare its troops and resources for war.
  • Patrick instructed Pasareen to share the news with the Alliance and Horde so they could prepare to fight Deathwing.
  • Patrick sent a Magical Letter to Malygos through Saragoss, alerting the Aspect of the Blue to Neltharion's actions.

Ch. 709Mobilization

Patrick and the blue dragons prepared to fight Deathwing as the Cataclysm’s disasters spread across Azeroth. The chapter ended with Quel'Thalas continuing research into Titan technology while its leaders awaited war.

  • Malygos recalled the blue dragons to the Nexus after receiving Patrick’s letter, and Saragoss met Patrick at the Silvermoon Council to discuss Deathwing.
  • Patrick explained that Deathwing had connected the Elemental Plane to Azeroth and promised to honor his agreement to fight the black dragons.
  • Patrick ordered Saragoss to prepare the blue dragons for war and to ready arcane-construct specialists to enter the second floating city.
  • Kael'thas told Patrick that research at Ulduar had produced limited results, though the Sun Seekers had upgraded the arcane golems using ideas inspired by Mimiron’s machines.
  • Patrick asked whether Quel'Thalas could manufacture iron dwarves, and Kael'thas said the researchers could not yet achieve the required precision.

Ch. 710News of the Kirin Tor

Patrick and Kael'thas discussed Quel'Thalas's trade, military production, and proposed reforms, agreeing to limit exports and strengthen cooperation between their factions. After learning where Dalaran's Violet Citadel was hiding, Patrick decided not to attack yet and expected to encounter the Kirin Tor soon over Deathwing.

  • Kael'thas reported that enchanted goods and Magic Coins had brought Quel'Thalas substantial revenue, and Patrick ordered that the finest military equipment remain in the kingdom.
  • Patrick proposed reorganizing the Sunfury Legion and Eclipse Burning Legion's research and manufacturing departments with the Council's institutions, and Kael'thas agreed to the reforms.
  • Patrick and Kael'thas agreed to limit equipment sales to Covenant powers, while Kael'thas proposed lowering the Magic Coin exchange rate and restricting large exchanges.
  • Vel'rilles Deep Shadow delivered intelligence locating Dalaran's Violet Citadel at sea north of the Maelstrom and south of the Ancient Shore.
  • Patrick told Kael'thas not to move against Dalaran yet, predicting that Medivh's Council of Tirisfal and Wyrmrest Temple's response to Deathwing would soon bring them into contact.

Ch. 711The fury of the elements

Thrall and the Earthen Ring tried to soothe the wounded earth near the Maelstrom, but the elements remained silent until Ragnaros answered Thrall. Ragnaros warned that the Hour of Twilight was near, leaving Thrall shaken by visions of the coming calamity.

  • Thrall sailed from Ratchet with Agna and powerful Earthen Ring shamans to the Maelstrom, where they attempted to heal the earth through a ritual.
  • Nobundo led the shamans in prayer as they struggled to remain standing amid violent tremors and crashing waves.
  • A flash and explosion shattered a nearby reef, forcing Nobundo to order the group back to their ships while Thrall stayed behind to reach the elements.
  • Agna urged Thrall to rest, but Thrall insisted that he could not abandon the world or the people he wanted to protect, prompting several shamans to return to the ritual.
  • Ragnaros appeared within the Maelstrom, warned Thrall that the world would burn and the Hour of Twilight was near, and showed him visions that nearly shattered his mind.

Ch. 712The First Plenary Meeting

Medivh returned to a devastated Stormwind City and summoned the reborn Council of Tirisfal to discuss Azeroth’s spatial upheaval. At Karazhan, Thrall revealed that Ragnaros had shown him visions of a coming catastrophe, leaving the leaders to face a threat more serious than they had expected.

  • Medivh returned to Stormwind City, saw the widespread destruction, and asked Varian to organize the Alliance for the Council of Tirisfal’s first plenary meeting.
  • Medivh sent Magical Letters to the Alliance, the Horde, and the Arcane Pact, urging them to gather at Karazhan to address the Shattering of the Earth.
  • Patrick, Illidan, Maiev, Vashj, and other Covenant representatives traveled to Karazhan, where Moroes escorted them to the Reception Room.
  • Medivh told the assembled leaders that Azeroth’s space had begun merging with other spaces, while Thrall described attempts to repair the damage with the Earthen Ring.
  • Thrall recreated visions from his conversation with the Firelord and revealed Ragnaros’s warning of the Fire of Catastrophe, the Hour of Twilight, and the End of All Things.
  • Medivh concluded that the crisis involved more than spatial rifts, since the Aspect of the Black and the Firelord were also involved.

Ch. 713Twilight Father

The Council of Tirisfal coordinated preparations against the elemental upheaval and Deathwing, while Tyrande agreed to alert Wyrmrest Temple. At Wyrmrest Temple, Alexstrasza faced an attack by strange dragons and heard their unseen leader call himself the Twilight Father.

  • Patrick committed the Arcane Pact’s core forces to defending Azeroth, and Varian and Medivh pledged support from the Alliance and Earthen Ring.
  • Thrall explained that Deathwing had shattered the Pillar of the World, weakening the barrier between Azeroth and the Elemental Plane.
  • The council agreed to investigate Deathwing, prepare their navies near the Maelstrom, defend Mount Hyjal, and repair the Pillar of the World.
  • Tyrande said she would inform Wyrmrest Temple so the dragonflights could respond to Deathwing’s return.
  • Purple, violet, and indigo dragons attacked the Red Dragons and Green Dragons at Wyrmrest Temple.
  • Alexstrasza challenged the voice behind the attack, and he identified himself as the Twilight Father.

Ch. 715Wyrmrest Temple's predicament

Alexstrasza realized the attack on Wyrmrest Temple was a distraction, while Patrick gathered the Arcane Pact to send aid. The chapter ended with Patrick and his allies arriving at the Obsidian Sanctum as Illidan's Void Dragon Riders joined the response.

  • Alexstrasza and Ysera fought off twilight dragons at Wyrmrest Temple, killing some and turning others against each other.
  • Alexstrasza noticed the twilight dragons were concentrated around the temple despite their poor odds and ordered the defenders to scatter and draw them away.
  • Alexstrasza realized the twilight dragons were distracting her from another objective.
  • Patrick returned to Sunlight City after Saragoss reported the attack and Tarecgosa's disappearance.
  • Patrick ordered Malygos and the Arcane Pact to relieve Wyrmrest Temple, and Kael'thas sent word to nearby members.
  • Patrick, Illidan, Maiev, and the others reached the Obsidian Sanctum as Illidan's Void Dragon Riders came through the portal.

Ch. 716Tarecgosa

Patrick’s Arcane Pact forces joined Malygos and the blue dragons at Wyrmrest Temple, where they rapidly cleared the twilight dragon attackers. The Twilight Father remained confident despite the defeat, while his captive Tarecgosa learned that the Arcane Pact had disrupted his plans.

  • Patrick sent void dragons, dragonhawks, and Nalis and Onyxia from the Obsidian Sanctum to support the blue dragons at Wyrmrest Temple.
  • Alexstrasza grew wary when she sensed black dragons among the approaching reinforcements.
  • Malygos unleashed an arcane storm that destroyed the twilight dragons’ energy forms and cleared the area around Wyrmrest Temple.
  • Onyxia directed the void dragons to attack the twilight dragons, while Alexstrasza watched in disbelief as blue and black dragons fought together.
  • The Twilight Father watched the battle from a peak in Dragonblight with Tarecgosa held by a chain around her throat.
  • Tarecgosa told the Twilight Father that the Arcane Pact had disrupted his plans, but he injured her with shadow energy and insisted he still had a plan B.

Ch. 717Five Dragon Temple

Patrick joined Krasus beneath Wyrmrest Temple to stop Twilight's Hammer from corrupting the dragon eggs. Patrick removed the corruption from Krasus, but the eggs remained contaminated and threatened to hatch as Chromatic or Twilight Dragons.

  • Patrick left Illidan to oversee the battle outside and went to Five Dragon Temple, where Krasus fought Twilight Cultists among the dragon eggs.
  • Patrick and Krasus defeated the invading cultists, but the eggs began hatching into deformed Chromatic Whelps and Twilight Whelps, while dark magic spread through Krasus.
  • A dying Troll cultist revealed that all the dragon eggs and temples had been infected for Deathwing's plan.
  • Patrick isolated the lowest level of Wyrmrest Temple and used silvery-white energy to extract the corruption from Krasus.
  • Krasus killed the Troll, but Patrick warned him that the eggs were still contaminated and would soon hatch into dragons controlled by Deathwing.

Ch. 718Remedial measures

Patrick and the Dragon Aspects discovered that the dragon eggs throughout Wyrmrest Temple had been contaminated and were at risk of hatching into Twilight Dragons. They planned to contain and relocate the eggs, while Onyxia arrived with matters for Patrick and revealed that he had placed an Arcane Spell Inscription on her.

  • Patrick explained to Krasus that the eggs had stopped growing because his spatial barrier blocked outside energy, and that they needed to be kept from absorbing energy while their dark corruption was removed.
  • Malygos, Alexstrasza, Ysera, and the others entered and saw that every dragonflight’s eggs had been contaminated; Patrick warned them that leaked magical energy could accelerate hatching.
  • Ysera suggested moving the eggs to the Emerald Dream, but Patrick warned that its nature energy could make them hatch as Twilight Dragons, and Malygos proposed using Arcane Guardians to seal them off.
  • Alexstrasza urged the dragons to move the eggs away from Wyrmrest Temple, and the group agreed that the Caverns of Time could work if they found Nozdormu.
  • Onyxia arrived to speak with Patrick, and Krasus recognized her as Neltharion’s daughter and discovered Patrick’s Arcane Spell Inscription on her.

Ch. 719Preparing to Settle Accounts

Patrick and the Arcane Pact prepared to attack Dalaran at Ancient Shore, with the Blue Dragons, Tuskarr, and Kul Tiras joining the campaign. The chapter ended with Kul Tiras confirming it wanted to confront Jaina and settle the question of her place in the kingdom.

  • Onyxia showed Patrick a message from Kael'thas about protecting Azeroth's Ley Line System, and Patrick acknowledged that the conflict with Dalaran needed to be resolved.
  • Patrick rejected Krasus's objections, then left the Five Dragon Temple with Malygos and the other Blue Dragons to prepare for the attack.
  • Elder Kunani committed the Tuskarr to the campaign despite the risk of casualties and Red Dragon retaliation, and Patrick assigned their forces to support the fighting on and beneath the water.
  • Fenna Goldsword told Patrick that Kul Tiras's warships were heading to Northrend and confirmed that Kul Tiras wanted to confront Jaina and answer the question of her conduct.

Ch. 720Inspiration from the Tuskarr

Fenna informed Galin Trollbane of Kul Tiras’s plans to reclaim its former troops and revoke Theramore’s autonomy, while Patrick and Kael’thas prepared Quel’Thalas’s forces to seize the Violet Citadel. Watching the Tuskarr’s underwater Turtle Ships gave Patrick a new idea for military design.

  • Fenna told Galin Trollbane that Kul Tiras intended to reclaim its former troops and end Theramore’s autonomy, and Patrick promised Quel’Thalas’s support.
  • Kael’thas arrived at Dal Island with two newly built Aircraft Carriers and asked Patrick how confident he was about taking the Violet Citadel.
  • Patrick assured Kael’thas that Quel’Thalas could take the Violet Citadel even if the Alliance and dragons intervened, and he explained why he thought the timing was favorable.
  • Patrick watched the Tuskarr’s Turtle Ships travel beneath the sea and recognized them as inspiration for a possible new military design.

Ch. 721At a loss

Patrick and Kael'thas prepared to attack Dalaran with Medivh's support, while the Kirin Tor debated how to respond to the approaching fleet. The chapter ended with Rhonin deciding to meet Patrick alone, hoping to delay the assault until Krasus arrived with the Red Dragons.

  • Patrick persuaded Kael'thas that surprise attacks against Dalaran were justified after the Kirin Tor had secretly conspired against him.
  • Medivh joined Patrick and Kael'thas, saying the Kirin Tor had betrayed the Council of Tirisfal and owed him for what they took from Karazhan.
  • Patrick's forces sailed for Ancient Shore, and he allowed Onyxia to send Void Dragons to watch Wyrmrest Temple.
  • The Kul Tiras fleet met Patrick near Ancient Shore as Quel'Thalas's mages prepared a Dimensional Anchor to trap the Violet Citadel.
  • Modera and Aethas considered negotiating with the High Elves, but Rhonin said the Alliance could not help because Medivh had joined Patrick.
  • Rhonin decided to meet Patrick alone and hoped to hold out until Krasus arrived with the Red Dragons.

Ch. 722Questions from years past

Patrick met with Rhonin and the Kirin Tor leaders aboard the surrounded Aircraft Carrier as the Arcane Pact prepared to attack Dalaran. He questioned them about Garithos’s relationship with the Kirin Tor and how Kael’thas had been imprisoned, leaving the meeting poised for their answer.

  • Rhonin, Modera, Khadgar, Kalyne, and Aethas came aboard the Aircraft Carrier to meet Patrick and Kael’thas.
  • Patrick and Kael’thas agreed to receive the Kirin Tor delegation despite concerns that they might be stalling or seeking escape.
  • Rhonin challenged the Arcane Pact’s attack and tried to provoke Kael’thas, while Patrick recognized that Rhonin hoped to protect Dalaran’s ordinary people by sacrificing its leaders.
  • Patrick asked whether Garithos had been the Kirin Tor’s superior or subordinate during the effort to retake Lordaeron.
  • Patrick asked how Garithos had gained control of Dalaran and imprisoned Kael’thas in the Violet Citadel’s Water Prison.

Ch. 723Zendarri's uprising

With the Kirin Tor plotting against Kael'thas and Quel'Thalas, Zendarri used its weakened state to urge the high elves in Dalaran to abandon the city and return home. He left Porter Dawnblade and the elves still loyal to Dalaran behind as Patrick Cabrolon's forces prepared to attack.

  • Patrick Cabrolon recognized that the Kirin Tor had worked with Garithos to kill Kael'thas and seize his legacy through Aethas.
  • Zendarri confronted Porter Dawnblade and accused the Kirin Tor of exploiting the high elves and plotting against Quel'Thalas.
  • Porter Dawnblade defended Dalaran's protections against Cabrolon's Arcane Mass Point and expected the Alliance and red dragons to rescue the city.
  • Zendarri revealed that Patrick Cabrolon had sent him to turn the high elves against the Kirin Tor and urged them to leave Dalaran.
  • Most of the high elves chose to return to Quel'Thalas, while Porter Dawnblade and those still loyal to Dalaran remained behind.

Ch. 724A victorious return

Zendarri returned to Patrick's fleet with a large group of High Elves, having set the Violet Citadel into turmoil and persuaded most of its elves to leave. Medivh took Khadgar away with him, while the Kirin Tor's leaders realized Patrick's long-running plan had trapped them.

  • Zendarri rejected Porter Dawnblade's warning and continued gathering High Elves who wanted to leave Dalaran for Quel'Thalas.
  • Medivh reclaimed Atiesh from Khadgar and invited him to leave with him; Khadgar accepted and vanished with Medivh.
  • Rommath opened the Aircraft Carrier's Teleportation Chambers, bringing Zendarri's group and a second group of High Elves aboard.
  • Zendarri knelt before Patrick and Kael'thas and reported that most of the Violet Citadel's residents were preparing to leave.
  • Patrick thanked Zendarri, while Rhonin, Modera, and the other Kirin Tor members realized they had been caught in Patrick's plan.

Ch. 725The fall of Dalaran (Part one)

Patrick and Kael'thas confronted Jaina and Tandred as Dalaran faced destruction, and Patrick’s forces subdued the Kirin Tor delegation. Patrick spared Jaina because Tandred still recognized her as his sister, but ordered Illidan to erase her spellcasting ability before handing her over to Tandred.

  • Kael'thas explained that the Kirin Tor had taken control of Dalaran and that Patrick’s fears about the city’s new political faction had come true.
  • Tandred arrived with Jaina to meet Patrick and Kael'thas, and Jaina angrily accused Kael'thas of betraying Dalaran’s people.
  • Patrick asked Tandred whether he still considered Jaina his sister, and Tandred affirmed that she would always be his sister.
  • Kael'thas rejected Jaina’s accusations, and Patrick unleashed his magic, enclosing her in the Coffin of Space as Illidan and Malygos subdued Rhonin, Modera, and the other mages.
  • Patrick asked Illidan to permanently erase Jaina’s spellcasting ability so she could be handed over to Tandred alive.

Ch. 726The fall of Dalaran (Part two)

Patrick and his allies defeated Jaina and took her into Tandred’s custody, while Kael’thas assumed responsibility for the captured Kirin Tor. Patrick prepared to destroy Dalaran, but Elune warned him that the Violet Citadel had been shielded against his spell, revealing that someone had leaked its secrets.

  • Illidan used Mana Burn to strip Jaina of her spellcasting ability, and Patrick handed her over to Tandred for Kul Tiras to deal with.
  • Tandred took Jaina back to his fleet and planned to reclaim the Kul Tiran veterans in Theramore and reorganize his forces.
  • Patrick had Aethas taken into custody and left Rhonin and Modera’s fate to Kael’thas, who understood that Patrick intended to destroy the Violet Citadel.
  • Elune warned Patrick that the Violet Citadel’s runes were designed to counter Arcane Mass Point, and Patrick discovered that its shield blocked the spell’s gravitational effect.
  • Patrick suspected someone in Quel’Thalas had leaked knowledge of Arcane Mass Point to the Kirin Tor, and Elune agreed that this was possible.

Ch. 727Their just deserts

Patrick destroyed Dalaran by splitting the Violet Citadel apart, drawing its remains into the sky, and melting them into the sea. Back in Silvermoon City, the council debated the fate of the captured High Elf collaborators, and Patrick proposed stripping them of their magic and imposing punishments ranging from lifelong imprisonment to hard labor.

  • Patrick used a spell modeled on Archimonde’s destruction of Dalaran to split the Violet Citadel into four pieces and draw its ruins together with an Arcane Mass Point.
  • Patrick filled the gathered ruins with fire until they became magma, then watched them sink into the sea as Kael'thas ordered the fleet home.
  • Patrick and Kael'thas returned to Silvermoon City while Illidan and Malygos departed, leaving refugees and prisoners in the care of the accompanying forces.
  • Kael'thas summoned the Silvermoon Council to decide the fate of Aethas Sunreavers and the other captured High Elves, while Rommath called for their execution.
  • Patrick agreed that Aethas and the chief offenders must die, but proposed that Leotheras and Varedis strip them of their magic and imprison them for life, while lesser offenders faced magical sealing, imprisonment, or hard labor.

Ch. 728The final ruling

Patrick set the terms for the trial of the High Elves involved in the Dalaran conspiracy, assigning the Silvermoon Court to judge them while granting Luminass supervisory authority. He then turned his attention to Deathwing, the elemental upheaval, and his coming journey to Tanaris and Uldum.

  • Patrick rejected amnesty for the conspirators and outlined punishments ranging from execution to imprisonment and forced labor, with treasonous leaks and government subversion carrying the death penalty.
  • Luminass asked to join the Silvermoon Court proceedings, and Patrick instead gave her authority to oversee the fairness of its rulings while assigning Zendarri to help assess the accused.
  • Zendarri reported that Porter Dawnblade had said members of the old families obtained the spell model and principles of Arcane Mass Point.
  • Patrick warned Kael'thas, Rommath, and Luminass to put the Kingdom's interests first, then left the human offenders to foreign affairs and entrusted the remaining Kirin Tor matters to Kael'thas.
  • Patrick prepared to meet the Blue Dragons in Tanaris, move their eggs to the Caverns of Time, and address the elemental upheaval, Uldum, and the Tol'vir.

Ch. 729Setting out for the Caverns of Time

Patrick prepared the Arcane Pact and Ulduar’s forces to travel to Tanaris and protect Uldum, while the Horde, Alliance, and other allies faced crises of their own. He left Ulduar with plans to develop the floating city into a base for the coming fight.

  • The Cenarion Circle reported that Fandral Staghelm had attacked Thrall with dark magic and sent his soul into the Firelands, while Mount Hyjal fell into turmoil.
  • The Alliance struggled with Twilight's Hammer infiltration in Stormwind, and Varian, Medivh, and others sought to uncover the Twilight Father's identity.
  • Patrick and the Arcane Pact took responsibility for the situation in Uldum as Brann traveled toward Tanaris and the Horde and Alliance dealt with their own threats.
  • Patrick led elves and the navy from Ulduar toward Tanaris, while Halreen and Saragoss brought dragon eggs secured against outside energy.
  • Thorim presented Ulduar's newly prepared troops, and Patrick ordered the Four Guardians to destroy the Old Gods and their minions while protecting Uldum's ruins.
  • Patrick directed the elves to expand Ulduar's facilities, including mage towers and dragon platforms, as the Magisters' Legion worked on the city's defenses.

Ch. 730Arrival at the Caverns of Time

Patrick brought Illidan, Maiev, and their forces to Ulduar as he prepared for the coming conflict with Deathwing and the Old Gods. Ulduar flew to Tanaris and stopped at the Caverns of Time, where Patrick’s group announced that they would shelter the surviving dragon eggs.

  • Illidan and Maiev arrived at Ulduar with troops and Shen'dralar mages, dressed in traditional Highborne royal and priestly robes.
  • Patrick told Illidan and Maiev that Deathwing was concealing his plans and that the war against the Old Gods had only begun.
  • Maiev said that she and Illidan had secured Feralas and that their forces were ready to fight alongside the High Elves and Highborne.
  • Patrick explained that Uldum was another target and that he wanted the Shen'dralar mages to help speed construction at Ulduar.
  • Ulduar flew to the Caverns of Time in Tanaris, where the Bronze Dragons challenged Patrick's arriving army.
  • Patrick said that Malygos had spoken with Anachronos and that the surviving dragon eggs would be temporarily sheltered in the Caverns of Time.
