Background / History

Ordinary Alliance and Recruitment

Ye Guyi joined the Ordinary Alliance to eradicate Evil Soul Masters. Shangguan Wei’er concealed her true identity, recognizing the Holy Angel Martial Soul as a valuable weapon against the Xishui Alliance. When Lu Ren destroyed eight Xishui branch altars, the resulting hunt for holy-attribute Soul Masters forced Ye Guyi to leave the alliance’s protection and hide 62 64 70 176.

Lu Ren encountered her in a restaurant after asking Nana to investigate her whereabouts. Hearing him mention her name, Ye Guyi fled and was pursued into an alley. Believing him and Ji Juechen to be Evil Soul Masters, she attempted self-destruction rather than submit. Lu Ren stopped the attempt with positive energy and demonstrated Reverse Cursed Technique Release to establish that he was not an Evil Soul Master 59 63 64.

She remained suspicious of his offer of cooperation and tried to escape again. Lu Ren put her to sleep with Cursed Speech and carried her back to his residence. After she awoke, he offered her two captured Soul Saints to purify and had her lead him to Shangguan Wei’er. Their visit secured the Ordinary Alliance’s cooperation and gave Ye Guyi the means to reach the threshold of Rank 50 65 69 73 77.

Growth and the Holy Spirit Cult

Ye Guyi accepted that her Martial Soul would eventually bring her into conflict with the Xishui Alliance and stated that she did not regret joining Lu Ren. While he was away in the Far North, she fought Evil Soul Masters with Ji Juechen and Jing Ziyan, reaching Rank 61. Despite this progress, Lu Ren prohibited her from attending the Continental Tournament because publicly revealing her Martial Soul would expose her to the Holy Spirit Cult 81 108.

During seclusion, her holy power became unusually concentrated. Electrolux detected a Divine Fragment, and he and Lu Ren suspected bloodline reversion connected to Qian Renxue. Her subsequent awakening produced the divine-grade Six-Winged Angel Martial Soul. Crediting Lu Ren’s guidance in domain creation, Ye Guyi pledged to become an angel who protected him 143 157 166.

She then accompanied Lu Ren and Ji Juechen in an assault on a Holy Spirit Cult base. As a Soul Emperor, she slew three Soul Douluo-level Evil Soul Masters and helped suppress the cult’s higher-ranked offerings. The encounter also unsettled her childhood conviction that every Evil Soul Master deserved execution: the Third and Fourth Offerings’ circumstances forced her to confront exceptions to that belief 169 171 172 176.

During the later attack on Lu Ren’s courtyard, her Martial Soul Avatar disrupted even Ye Xishui’s Soul Power. Ye Xishui retaliated by destroying her body, but Lu Ren’s Round Deer reconstructed and resurrected her. Protected against further Spiritual Shock, she resumed her domain and continued weakening the attackers 188 189.

Spirit Pagoda and Continental Unification

As the Spirit Pagoda expanded, Ye Guyi became one of its foremost enforcers. She intimidated Shrek’s resisting teachers, helped Ji Juechen defeat Zhang Lexuan, and destroyed Zhang Lexuan’s Dantian and cultivation. Over the following years, she eliminated numerous factions obstructing the Pagoda’s development 227 228 248.

By the confrontation at Star Luo City, she was a Rank 99 Limit Douluo and Chief Offering. She attempted to stop Huo Yuhao from intervening in the war, arguing that continental unification would end recurring interstate warfare and allow resources to support livelihoods and cultivation. Lu Ren arrived before their confrontation became a full battle 248.

After five years without seeing Lu Ren personally, Ye Guyi openly expressed her longing and confessed her love. He reciprocated but warned that his approaching ascent made their future uncertain. She accepted that he might have other partners and asked him to reserve time for her 250 251.

Ascension and the Divine Realm

Following the path supplied through Lu Ren’s Chaos and Harmony Cursed Technique, Ye Guyi spent more than a dozen years preparing on the Douluo Continent. She ascended as the new Angel God, inherited Qian Renxue’s legacy, and immediately reached First-Level God strength through the Divine Realm Center’s acknowledgment. Rather than remain involved in the confrontation between Tang San and the Destruction God King, she left to find Lu Ren 279.

She later guarded Lu Ren’s advancement with the Bone Dragon King. When eight First-Level Gods attacked, the pair held them back despite being badly outnumbered; Ye Guyi refused to retreat even after sustaining severe wounds. Lu Ren subsequently awakened her Cursed Technique and sent her into the Culling Game to develop it 284 291.

In the Divine Realm’s western region, she reached first place with fifty-three points and forced Huo Yuhao to concede through her new domain. She later fought the God of Greed and his reinforcements, encountering both temporary immortality that resisted her sword and a God Official capable of shattering domains. During Lu Ren’s later battle with Tang San, she held back the Goddess of Life despite her injuries 295 304 320.

Appearance

Ye Guyi has long golden hair, clear eyes, very fair skin, a high nose bridge, and a softly contoured jaw. Her youthful appearance is initially offset by pronounced wariness and stubbornness 63.

Personality

Initially, Ye Guyi is intensely guarded and quick to suspect hidden motives. Even an offer of captured Evil Soul Masters makes her question what Lu Ren expects in return. Cornered, she would rather attempt self-destruction than surrender to enemies she believes will torture her 64 69.

Her hatred of Evil Soul Masters is rooted in a rigid belief, held since childhood, that they must be judged and killed. This zeal initially extends to Lu Ren’s controlled Cursed Spirits: she nearly attacks Kurourushi after learning that it has eaten humans. The experiences of the Third and Fourth Offerings complicate her certainty without erasing her determination to oppose the Holy Spirit Cult 169 176.

Once she trusts Lu Ren, her vigilance gives way to fierce loyalty and direct affection. She trains because she wants to help him rather than remain a burden, becomes frustrated when excluded from dangerous operations, and repeatedly risks her life to protect him. Although forceful and intimidating toward opponents, she is openly emotional with him and ultimately initiates their romantic relationship 108 178 250 251 291.

Her Martial Soul naturally counters evil and darkness. Its evolution into a divine-grade Six-Winged Angel greatly improves the quality of her power and her future potential 62 166.
