Arc 8Dragons, Alliances, and Betrayals
Gary gathered allies and retook Deepwood Motte before returning to Winterfell, while plans to rescue Sansa and weaken the Lannisters unfolded in King’s Landing. Sansa reached Highgarden and agreed to marry Willas, Tyrion killed Tywin and fled north, and Drogon destroyed the Ironborn fleet attacking the Reach.
- Gary secured the Wildlings’ alliance, sent Davos to search for Rickon, and led the Children of the Forest, young Starks, and giants south while Arya went to recruit the Mountain Clans.
- Arya won the Flint clan’s support, and Gary’s army captured Deepwood Motte with dragonfire and giant arrows, though Dragonbinder sent Drogon into a frenzy and left Daenerys badly injured.
- Gary accepted Asha Greyjoy’s oath and named her Earl of the Iron Islands, then had Dragonbinder melted down after Daenerys deciphered its warning that its blower would die.
- Gary returned to Winterfell, where Rhaegal and Viserion arrived, and sent Barristan with troops to join Davos while he plotted with Lady Olenna to poison Joffrey and frame Tyrion.
- Joffrey died at his wedding, Tyrion was arrested, Sansa escaped, and assassins killed Olenna as Garlan took Sansa to Highgarden, where she agreed to marry Willas.
- Tyrion demanded trial by combat, but Gregor Clegane killed Oberyn, and Jaime freed Tyrion, who learned the truth about Tysha, strangled Shae, killed Tywin, and chose to sail north.
- Drogon woke at Highgarden and burned the Ironborn fleet attacking on the Mander River, then flew north as Willas reaffirmed his alliance with the North.
