Ye Huang's Desired Soul Ring
During his search for a third Soul Ring, Ye Huang named Purple Radiant Bamboo as his preferred choice, rejecting Yu Xiaogang's recommendation to use a Mandala Snake. Yu Xiaogang acknowledged its standing among bamboo Soul Beasts but argued that its rarity and difficulty made the goal unrealistic 58.
By the time Ye Huang sought his fifth Soul Ring, he had spent half a year searching for Purple Radiant Bamboo or another top-tier bamboo Soul Beast. His academy's teachers initially assisted him, but he eventually continued alone and obtained information pointing to the Star Spirit Mountain Range 101.
Hunt in the Star Spirit Mountain Range
Long Qianming agreed to help Ye Huang obtain the ring. After two days and roughly two hundred li of mountain travel, their group located the grove. Long Qianming instructed Ye Huang to retreat with Wang Fan and Wang Lin, then broke through the surrounding bamboo Soul Beasts to reach the Purple Radiant Bamboo 101.
The bamboo attacked with leaves, branches, and roots. After it dodged his spear, Long Qianming detonated the weapon's black Qi into flames, overwhelming its defenses. While it struggled against the fire, he seized its stalk and tore its entire root system from the ground 102.
Long Qianming carried the dying bamboo out of the grove. Ye Huang delivered the finishing blow with his First Soul Skill and absorbed its ring within six hours, successfully evolving his Martial Soul 102.
