Background / History
Early Life in the Skyrite Mountains
Laius was born in the Skyrite Mountains and ranks second among the Four Divine Beasts. During their first hundred years, he repeatedly fought other divine beasts in the range. After attaining godhood, he continued challenging local experts with Bowen; when either encountered an opponent they could not handle, they called Redding and Nemo to join the fight. Their actions helped drive away powerful inhabitants and contributed to the mountains’ later shortage of Highgods 1 39.
When Redding first formed a humanoid Divine Clone, Laius failed to recognize him and challenged him. Redding trapped Laius in his water God’s Domain, subdued the other siblings, and knocked them unconscious with soul attacks. The demonstration prompted Laius to ask how Redding had become so strong and urgently seek godhood himself 1 2 3.
Conflict with Tristan
More than five hundred years before Tristan’s return, Laius defeated him while both were Midgods, nearly killing him with Tiger Roar. Tristan escaped the Skyrite Mountains and later returned as a Highgod seeking revenge. Despite remaining a Midgod, Laius resisted his attacks and coordinated with Bowen to sever one of Tristan’s arms 5 6.
Laius pursued Tristan when he tried to flee, repeatedly injuring him with wind blades. Tristan then consumed a crimson fruit that sharply increased his strength and speed, forcing Laius to rely on Bowen’s defenses. Their combined use of Black Tortoise Seal and Tiger Roar failed to finish Tristan because he made his body illusory. Redding intervened as Bowen’s protection expired and destroyed Tristan’s Darkness Divine Clone 6 7 8.
Travels and Crimson Island
Laius accompanied his siblings toward the Zijing Continent, taking turns with Nemo to carry the group. During the journey, watching Pash’s Destruction attacks against Frost gave him the insight needed to advance his Destruction Divine Clone to Midgod 8 9.
After Redding took control of Crimson Island, Laius left his Destruction Divine Clone there as a guest elder. His duties were to help Luolie secure the island, recruit God Level experts, and collect Heaven and Earth Wonders. His other body continued traveling with the group 17.
In the Amethyst Mountains, Laius spent a thousand years gathering Amethysts with Pash and Bowen. Once their stockpile was more than sufficient, they stopped collecting and began absorbing the crystals to strengthen their souls, taking turns on guard duty 29.
Sovereignhood and Later Activities
Laius joined the expedition that secured two Destruction Sovereign Sparks, which ultimately went to Pash and Zijing. Later, his Crimson Island operation received four more Sovereign Sparks—earth, fire, water, and wind—from a Highgod. Laius reported the discovery to Redding and kept them ready until the group arrived 31 32 33 34 35.
On Crimson Island, Laius and his three siblings refined their matching Sparks simultaneously and became Lower Sovereigns. He then demonstrated the effect of Might of the Will by using his Destruction Divine Clone to stop Leiyuan’s full-strength staff attack with one hand 35 36.
After returning to their birthplace, Laius supported Redding’s proposal to build a nearby city and helped construct what became Heavenly Sacrifice City. He later attended the Sovereigns’ gathering for the creation of the Water Divine Plane, where he pointed out that Tristan had also become a Sovereign. When the Earth and Fire Divine Planes began forming simultaneously, Laius remained with Pash and Zijing to guard Bowen and Leiyuan at the Earth site 39 40 42 49.
Appearance
- True form: A snow-white tiger nearly a thousand meters long at Saint Domain, resembling a small mountain range from a distance 1.
- Tail and movement: His tail swings like a steel whip, while his four limbs move with exceptional speed 1.
- Humanoid presentation: Wears cyan robes and carries a three-meter-long horse-chopping saber during his sparring match with Bowen 4.
Personality
Laius is described as the most warlike of the Four Divine Beasts. He actively seeks opponents, dislikes remaining confined to the Skyrite Mountains, and proposes sparring with Luolie shortly after being assigned to Crimson Island. His competitive streak also makes Bowen’s earlier attainment of godhood a strong motivation to improve 1 4 17.
His aggression does not prevent tactical patience. Against Tristan, he waits for reinforcements, baits an opening, and coordinates his attack with Bowen’s gravity manipulation. Even when Tristan gains the advantage, Laius refuses to show fear 5 6 7.
Laius trusts Redding’s leadership and accepts his cultivation advice and assignments without argument. He also enjoys fine wine: he once traded a Midgod Artifact for a flask and later shared it with his companions 17 31.
Abilities & Skills
Tiger Roar
Laius’s Innate Divine Ability produces an immensely powerful material attack capable of tearing space 4.
- Manifests an almost solid White Tiger phantom that opens its jaws and roars at the target 7.
- Distorts the surrounding space and produces visible, tiny spatial rifts 7.
- Poses a lethal threat to Tristan even while Laius is a Midgod, but Tristan evades it by making his Darkness Divine Clone illusory 5 7.
Laws of Wind
Wind is Laius’s primary cultivation path, supporting both his speed and his strongest conventional attacks 4 35.
- Movement: Slightly faster than Nemo at Saint Domain and at least her equal in flight during their later travels 1 8.
- Saber techniques: Masters the fast and slow aspects of Wind, producing deceptively slow-looking strikes with the power of an ordinary Highgod while still a Midgod 5.
- Wind blades: Launches cutting attacks accompanied by spreading gusts; uses them to wound Tristan during pursuit 6.
- Detection: Extends his soul power along the wind to search for hidden enemies, though he cannot immediately locate Tristan in the shadows 6.
- Utility: Forms a giant hand from Wind Divine Power to gather tens of thousands of Amethysts at once 29.
- Cultivation difficulty: Wind has nine Profound Mysteries rather than six. Laius must fuse three to match the power Bowen gains from fusing two Earth mysteries 4.
Edict of Destruction
Laius maintains a separate Destruction Divine Clone, which serves on Crimson Island and later reaches Highgod 17 35.
- Advances to Midgod through insights gained from Pash’s combat techniques 9.
- Cannot improve through fusing separate mysteries in the same manner as his Wind cultivation, because an Edict’s mysteries form a whole 9.
- Before its Sovereign-derived enhancement, reaches combat strength comparable to a Highgod with three fused Profound Mysteries 35.
Might of the Will
Refining the Wind Sovereign Spark gives Laius an overwhelming advantage over God Level experts 35.
- Laius judges that he could annihilate his pre-Sovereign self hundreds or thousands of times over with a thought 35.
- A portion of this power strengthens his Destruction Divine Clone despite that clone not refining a Sovereign Spark 35.
- The empowered clone blocks Leiyuan’s Highgod Artifact staff barehanded without injury and sends him reeling backward 36.
Physical Defense and Teamwork
- Durability: His divine body initially stops Tristan’s artifact claws from penetrating deeply, though a better-directed blow could still seriously injure him 5.
- Combat partnership: Laius supplies offense while Bowen provides defense; together, they can exert several times their individual fighting strength 6.
- Limits: Tristan’s crimson-fruit enhancement allows him to inflict substantial injuries, and Bowen must intercept several potentially fatal attacks 7.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Horse-chopping saber — A three-meter-long divine artifact used for close combat and projecting wind blades; also described as a horse-slaying saber 4 5 6.

Relationships
- Redding — Elder brother, leader, and cultivation mentor. Laius follows his instructions and entrusts his development to his guidance 3 17.
- Bowen — Youngest brother, sparring partner, and complementary combat ally. Their offensive–defensive partnership is central to the battle against Tristan 4 6 7.
- Nemo — Younger sister and fellow Divine Beast. She attempts to free him from Redding’s domain, and they later alternate carrying the traveling group 1 8.
- Tristan — Long-standing enemy whom Laius once drove from the Skyrite Mountains. Tristan regards Laius as his heart demon and repeatedly seeks his death 5 7.
- Pash — Traveling companion and eventual fellow Sovereign. Observing his Destruction techniques triggers Laius’s Midgod breakthrough 9 29 35.
- Luolie — Crimson Island’s public ruler, whom Laius’s stationed clone assists under Redding’s orders 17.
- Leiyuan — Ally and sparring opponent. Laius demonstrates his Will-enhanced clone’s strength against him and helps reassure him that the group will seek a compatible Sovereign Spark 35 36.
