Appearance

• Continues wearing the frames after her eyesight is cured because Lin Ran removes the lenses and puts the frames back on her 34.

Personality

Sheele is repeatedly characterized as absent-minded and slow to react outside combat. She takes several seconds to process Divine Abyss speaking to her, and after repelling bounty hunters, her immediate concern is whether she can return to sleep. Lin Ran considers her lack of suspicion a particular vulnerability to surprise attacks 15 17 18.

Her everyday confusion contrasts with excellent combat instincts. Although initially reluctant to study swordsmanship, she becomes eager once Lin Ran demonstrates the Blade of Devouring’s power. Seeing Akame’s rapid improvement likewise motivates her to hunt Danger Beasts and become stronger 16 19 20.

She is affectionate toward Lin Ran and welcoming toward others. She approaches Kurome soon after her arrival at Night Raid and quickly befriends her. She also volunteers to teach the rescued children, though she soon recognizes that teaching does not suit her 24 30 31.

Swordsmanship

Sheele adapts quickly to the Blade of Devouring because she already wielded her original Teigu like a sword 20.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Night Raid and the Three Beasts

Sheele receives one of Lin Ran’s first two Blades of Devouring and becomes the subject of his initial test of transferring between Divine Abyss and its avatars. After learning that the avatars can strengthen their wielders, she joins Akame and Mine on repeated Danger Beast hunts 15 18 19.

Her enhanced strength changes the outcome of the encounter with Seryu Ubiquitous. She overwhelms Seryu, evades her concealed gunfire, and finishes her after Lin Ran detects an attempted ambush. Mine defeats Xiaobi, allowing both women to return safely. Lin Ran explicitly recognizes this as averting Sheele’s original death in Xiaobi’s jaws 21.

She later accompanies Akame aboard the ship targeted by Esdeath’s Three Beasts. Unaffected by Nyau’s flute, she fights and beheads him while Akame defeats Daidara and Liver 21.

Fall of the Empire

During the capital crisis, Sheele and Mine wait near Akame but are told not to join the fighting against the World-Destroying Beast or The Supreme Throne. After killing the beast, Akame leads them toward the palace, where Kurome is fighting the emperor 27.

Under the new Divine Dragon Empire, Sheele spends time at the Guardian Temple and Night Raid’s base. She begins practicing with the Heart Visualization Diagram and accompanies Akame and Zi Xing into the capital’s poor districts, where they discover five severely abused girls 29 30.

Western Empire Expedition

Sheele joins Akame and Zi Xing on the journey west, fighting Danger Beasts and hostile tribesmen along the route. In the Western Empire, she and Zi Xing clear attacking forces from the group’s path while Akame escorts two rescued sisters 32 33.

Before the confrontation with the Western Empire’s ruler, Lin Ran sends Sheele, Zi Xing, and the sisters back to the Guardian Temple. He reassures Sheele that he and Akame can also retreat by teleportation if necessary 35.

World Travel and Later Life

After the invasion is defeated, Sheele travels with Lin Ran, Akame, and Zi Xing to explore unknown regions. Their journey includes a bamboo-raft crossing of a pale-red sea and visits to isolated islands; Lin Ran carries Sheele aboard his flying sword when they leave the raft 37.

Following their return, Lin Ran spends years with Akame and Sheele. They live again at Night Raid’s base before he departs for the Long Moon world 38.
