Background / History

Dragon Maiden served the former Dragon God alongside Bai Xuan and describes both of them as having spent their lives under his care. Blood Devil remembers her as a girl who followed the Dragon God everywhere and cared about little else. She shares the Dragon Clan’s resentment toward the gods of the Divine Realm, accusing them of repaying kindness with enmity 679 680 686.

She waited for Qi Ling on Sea God Island for decades, unable to leave his world before his arrival. During that time, Bo Saixi was her only close friend there. Crucially, the Dragon Maiden present in that world was not her true body, but a portion of her power sent to await him 630 639.

Dragon Maiden identifies Qi Ling as the Dragon God himself, rather than merely a chosen successor. She considers him the hope of the entire Dragon Clan, but withholds parts of the Dragon God’s history until he accepts the Dragon God Divinity, explaining that premature knowledge could influence his decisions 630 639 679.

Dragon Maiden is playful, flirtatious, and fond of leaving Qi Ling in suspense. She answers urgent questions with teasing refusals, kisses him unexpectedly, and invents a supposedly binding contract for his companions before admitting that its flag is ordinary cloth. Her changes in manner feel natural despite her overwhelming strength 629 630 631 680.

Her cheerfulness conceals both loneliness and uncompromising devotion. She finds friendship difficult because she can see through people at a glance, yet eagerly seeks Qi Ling’s company after his arrival. Although she insists that trial participants earn their own rewards, her loyalty to Qi Ling overrides any broader moral allegiance—even her friendship with Bo Saixi 630 633 732 792.
